Chapter: 32 Recovering

Castle ran to the room and dialed Espo.

"Hello?" Espo replied.

"I need your help."

"Look dude if this is about you-"

"It's Kate."

"Where are you."

"The loft. And bring Ryan and Lanie with you."

"We're on our way."

Castle hung up and ran back out to Kate. She was crying and cuddled up in a ball. He climbed onto the couch and she snuggles into him.

"See it only took a few seconds and I didn't give them a description in case he was awake just for you. I love you, and I'm sorry I made you leave." Rick said kissing her head.

"It's ok." She mumbled.

"No it's not. I should've stayed."

"But you're here now."

"No I mean stayed home. Stayed with you, stayed home helped you clean it up and never have left your side. I'm so sorry."

"But you came in time. And you saved me."

Rick would give that subject a rest. Kate looked around staying in high alert when she saw her keys on the counter.

"How was the hospital? When can Cordelia get released?"

"Kate listen to me, I'm going to tell you something and just know that I'm truly sorry. Cordelia died. When I visited she was all joyful. One second second we were laughing and the next- she started spitting up blood and then she seized and flatlined. They never got her back. I'm so sorry."

"What?" Kate cried louder than he ever heard. He just hugged her and waited for it to blow over. He himself too cried. His poor fiancé just could not get a break in life. In a few minutes her cries resorted to whimpers. He rubbed her back and soon she fell asleep.

In half an hour Rick fell asleep as well. They were both in a deep sleep that they didn't hear Espo knocking. He told Ryan and Lanie to step back, and then he kicked the door down. Castle awoke and hushed them. He slowly moved out from under Kate and let her sleep. Once she lost his warmth she silently cried. Lanie went to Kate, while castle let the boys to the bedroom. They noticed the food spilled and Rick told them it was an accident. He then moved the dresser and unlocked the door.
The man was still passed out.

"What the hell happened to him?" Ryan asked.

"Me." Rick replied.

"What's his name? Why was he here?"

"I don't know his name."

"Why was he here."

"Um- I came home from getting keys and a ring- oops. From getting the keys and I saw him on top of Kate. She had duck tape over her mouth and was handcuffed to the bed and her top was cut off and so were her short, well almost. And I threw him off and beat him up. I would've killed him but-"

"But what?"

"I'd get arrested."

We need to find out his name and why he was here. We need to talk to Kate." Espo said, him and Ryan leaving for Kate.

"Wait! But Kate-" Castle didn't finish, he ran out trying to stop them from seeing Kate.

Lanie had woken up Kate and removed the blankets. she was shocked at the bruises. She was starting to fall asleep. Lanie noticed a bump on the back of her head. She assumed that Kate had a severe concussion.

"Kate, you can't fall asleep. Ok? You need to keep talking and-"

"Lanie was cut off by Ryan and Espo entering the room. Lanie didn't have time to throw the blanket over Kate and the boys 's eyes were open wide. Not because of her body. But become of the damage done to it. Kate didn't care at the moment, but Lanie just covered up her legs up to her stomach so she could feel around Kate's ribs and back.

Castle went up behind Kate and massaged her shoulders.

"Kate, I'm so sorry." Ryan stated.

"It's ok," Kate said, her voice cracking, "what do you need to know?"

"Your- your statement." Kate's eyes grew glossy, she didn't want to relive this moment.

"Um...sure." Kate said twas dropping slowly.

"Who do you want to tell it too, we all want you to feel comfortable."

"Castle?" Kate looked behind her with pleading eyes.

"You want to give your statement to castle? But he's not a cop."

"Please?"

"Anything for you Beckett."

She thanked Ryan and then him and Espo investigated for clues. Lanie concluded that Kate did have a concussion, 2 bruised ribs, and a fractured spine, which could be fixed with a good crack back into place.

After awhile Lanie left having to do an autopsy while Castle wrapped Kate up in a blanket and helped her up the stairs and into the bedroom so she could give him her statement. Castle would voice memo it to give to the boys, of course with Kate's permission. He closed the door and was ready to listen.

Ryan and Espo found a belt, probably the mans. They didn't need fingerprints or any clues as to find him. But clues to figure out who he is, or why he was here. Like a piece of paper with a number or address on it. But nothing was found.

They had called LT to bring a squad car ready for Matthew. Espo and Ryan decided to tell Castle and Beckett. They headed up the stairs planning on seeing her crying. They never liked seeing her broken. She was always strong and refused for help thinking she could leap tall wide buildings in a single bound. They got to the door and didn't hear anything. They slightly opened it up and saw the pair cuddled up on top of the bed. Ryan suggested they write a note, so they did. They stated everything they found and when they both felt up to it they would come back to the precinct.

The placed the note on the table and then Espo took a picture to use as blackmail, but cute blackmail to embarrass them.

Castle and Beckett just snuggled in and stayed like that for a good few hours.

OH MY GOODNESS THAT CASTLE FINALE HAD ME BALLING ME EYES OUT! SPOILER ALERT: WHEN THEY BOTH GOT SHOT I WAS SCREAMING. BUT THEN THEY LIVED AND HAD THE PERFECT BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN! I WAS CRYING LIKE A BABY BUT NOW ITS OVER. IT WAS A GREAT RUN AND AMAZING MEMORIES, ALWAYS
