Confused (A Chris Pine fanfic)

Chapter Twenty-One

I finished with the last acting ensign and tapped the com-panel.

"Captain Pike. I have finished with the acting ensigns. Would you like me to write my report on who needs more time at the academy of who is doing ready for this mission? Is there a specific amount of crew member that I need?" I asked.

"Yes please do write the report. I will need it be eighteen hundred hours. You need to have at least eight cadets. To run the station. four on at one time." He responded.

"Yes sir." I said. I sat back down at the desk again. Acting ensign Barker is defiantly not ready for this. He is disobedient and when I did the tour I quizzed each one of them personally and he had the lowest average. I recommend two more years at the academy. Next would have to be acting ensign Brown. She also had a low score and had a very low attention span. I recommend that she takes at least one more year at the academy.

"Ensign Barker, please report to the ready room." I said. Moments later he came in.

"Yes sir." Be snapped.

"Watch your tone," I replied. "You will be sent back to the academy. You are very disobedient also you do not have enough knowledge to be aboard a galaxy class starship. I have recommended that you take two more years at the academy." I said looking down at my computer screen.

"How could you do that to me." He screamed grabbing my shirt.

"ALL SENIOR OFFICERS TO TE READY ROOM. I REPEAT ALL SENIOR OFFICERS." I screamed. Barker threw a punch and it landed in the middle of my stomach. I screamed even louder.

"How could you do this to me you bitch." He screamed. Suddenly the door flew open and Jim came in then captain Pike then Spock. Spocks hand gripped the side of ensign barkers neck and he collapsed to the the ground. I was on the ground in a corner. Jim knelt down beside me. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his chest.

"What happened." Captain Pike said knelling in the other side of me.

"I told him how he was going back to the academy. I told his he was very disobedient and lacking in some key areas. I told his I recommended two years more to the academy and them he total flipped. He First grabbed my shirt then he punched my stomach." When I said that I could hear Jim take In a deep breath. "I fell backwards and then you guys came in." I said. I started to cry. I felt my stomach.

"What about the baby?" I said panicking.

"Just give me a minute." Bones said scan over my stomach. "The baby is fine. You will have quite the bruise but if the pain becomes unbearable come to sick bay." Bones said.

"Captain. Is it okay if Jim stays here when I speak to the next cadet?" I asked.

"Yes of course." He said walking out of the room. Once everyone cleared the room I called in Cadet Brown.

"Yes sir?" She said stepping into the room.

"Acting Ensign Brown you will not be serving aboard the USS Enterprise." I said.

"May I ask why?" She asked.

"It is because you have not the full amount of knowledge that this post requires. You have been demoted to cadet again and will be taking a shuttle back down to the academy. I have suggested that you take another year of classes then I may reconsider." I said.

"Okay sir. I understand." She said. "May I be excuse?" She asked.

"Yes you may." Well that was easy. I though.

The next day I was standing on the bridge behind the captain.

"Helms man McKenna warp six, and punch it." Captain pike said. The helms man pushed the bar but nothing happened.

"Where is helms man McKenna?" Captain pike asked.

"He has lung worms and couldn't report to his post. I am Hikaru Sulu." The helms man said.

"And you are a pilot?" Captain pike asked.

"Yes sir, very much so. I don't know what's wrong." Sulu said.

"Is the parking brake on?" Captain pike asked.

"Uh ha no sir," said Hulu.

"Have you disengaged the Initial external dampeners?" Spock said. Sulu looked uncomfortable.

"Ready for warp sir," he said.

"Punch it" captain pike said.

Jim started to feel sick. His fell to the ground.

"Medical emergency on bridge." I said.

"Yes sir." Bones said.

"Make a note in my personal log. Jim has be relived of duty for a week." Captain Pike said. I nodded and tapped on my station computer restricting access to certain areas of the bridge.

"If he is not better in a week he will be relived for another." Captain pike said.
