Quick A/N: This song comes in later. "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" by Elton John.  And I also love this movie. Carry on.

"I can't believe you!"
You shouted through the rain.

He gasped from the precipitation on his lips. "Why not? I had a good reason! It's you we're talking about here, isn't it?" He smirked.

You scoffed. "Oh, please. You can't tell a dime from a diamond. I'm not worth that much."

His shoulders dropped. "Don't ever say that, Doll. Please, never let me hear you say those words again."

You sighed. "Steve, you know what I meant. I don't want you to put so much into something like that. Even for my birthday."

"C'mon, (Y/N). Fine, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have spent seven hundred dollars on the (F/C) dress you had been looking at in the shop window."

Your eyes bulged out of your head as Steve walked up to your side. "Seven hundred? You told me you spent four-fifty!"

He shrugged guiltily. "You hadn't opened the jewelry yet."

You were about to have a conniption.

"Steven Grant Rogers, you know that I don't like people to waste money on me. If you keep spending like that, I can guarantee that you will become a whole lot more familiar with Ramen Noodles and hot dogs for the next month."

"(Y/N), you're forgetting that we work for S.H.I.E.L.D., meaning that they backup our finances. Plus, you're brother is a millionaire."

You grimaced jokingly for. "Don't remind me."

You shivered as Steve chuckled. "C'mon, Doll. Let's go back to the apartment before you get a cold." He smoothly wrapped an arm around you, giving you warmth and the smell of Old Spice. Another shiver ran down your spine, but not from the rain.

The next day, the sun was out, but northern winds kept New York City breezy and chilly.

Soft rays of light filtered through the blinds and on to your heavy eyelids. You slowly fluttered them open as you felt warmth and something else. Small, light kisses were being placed along your shoulder. You turned to look at your husband.

"Good morning, Honey," you beamed.

He kissed your neck.

"Good morning, Doll," Steve grinned.

He deftly wrapped his arm around your waist, and you could feel the warmth from him radiating even through your large t-shirt.

He began playing with your hair with his other hand as he spoke.

"You know, I've been thinking, since your birthday party yesterday didn't really go as planned, we could do something today."

"Steve-"

"Just the two of us. Inexpensive and totally spontaneous, more or less," he grinned optimistically at you.

"Steve, you are hopeless," you broke.

He laughed.
