Life on the big island

Its hard...

It's hard to know that the decisions I make hurt other people even though it helps me. Grandpa looks over at me in the SUV and says "go talk to him, I will drop you off at the house on the way to the bounty."
I nod and a couple minutes later we pull up at the house I know all to well. Grandpa says " remember he loves you and only wants what's best for you."

I walk up to the front door as grandpa pulls off and gently knock on the door. No one comes to the door so I turn the knob to find it unlocked. I walk inside and open dads bedroom door to find him sitting by the window on the floor. I walk over and sit next to him. For a while we sit in silence until I grab his hand and intertwine our fingers and say " the way I acted earlier was harsh and I still don't completely understand why you did what you did but I can't stay mad at you. It's to hard because I love you dad."
He turns toward me and I see his puffy red eyes apparent that he had been crying, and says "Parker I only wants what is best for you. What you said was hurtful and I felt like you didn't even give me a chance to explain and that why I feel like you don't understand. When you found out, which I didn't want you to find out that way, you didn't let me say anything , you just ran away. Parker you can't just run away and hang up on me when I try to call you. You nearly gave me a heart attack. Your the only good thing that has come out of my life and I never want to lose you. I am sorry I kept this from you and I want to explain everything to you."

I nod taking all of it in. I say " can we talk about it later, I just want to spend some time with you. We can watch a movie here and eat some popcorn."

"Anything for my princess"

We walk into the living room and sit down on the couch. Dad wraps an arm around to me and i lay into his chest as he takes the remote and puts on our favorite movie to watch together, Footloose. After about thirty minutes into it Dad passes out most likely from all the stress and crying today. I gently get up, careful not to wake him and write him a note that tells him i will be back soon i just want to go see some people. 

I grab my keys and lock up the house. I jump in his jeep and drive it to the office. When i walk in they are all coming back inside from being on a bounty. Grandpa looks at me when he sees me and we walk back outside and sit in dad's jeep. He makes the first move to speak.

He clears his throat and says " So What happened?"

"We talked and i realized i was to harsh on him, i didn't give him a chance to explain so i am still going to stay with you tonight but he is at home asleep and i am going to go back with Dakota and talk to him tonight."

"i think that's a good idea. Just remember i will always be here for you."

"I know and it's one of the many reasons I love you grandpa."

"I love you too granddaughter."

He gets out and Dakota gets in and we sit in silence for a while and this time i am the first one to make a move. 

"You are coming over to Dad's house with me tonight and you two are going to explain everything to me."

"Parker......Please, you don't want to know all of the details. It will only hurt you."

"DAKOTA! i can take care of myself."

"Parker, don't you think i know that! You are one of the most strong and stubborn human beings i know. But i wouldn't change that for anything in the world because every quality you have only makes me love you more. Parker I am on love with you and will go to the ends of the earth just to prove it to you. Will you please believe and forgive me. I know i hurt you but you not wearing the ring i got you hurts me more than you will ever know."

At that moment i get out of the jeep and walk to the truck and grab the ring box out of the compartment and walk back to the jeep. I sit back in it and close the door. 

"I would love to wear this ring and love you forever and its all i ever want to do. I am going to put his ring back on but i need you to make a promise to me right here, right now."

"anything!"

"That you will never leave me or give up on me and you will love me even when you hate me. That you will protect me and our future children from everything and anything and that you will always stick up for me even when i am wrong. In return i will do the same."

"I promise all that and so much more."

I slide the ring back on my finger and kiss him passionately. We break apart from the kiss and i say "Take my vehicle and follow me back to dad's."

Later we arrive to dad's house and we walk in hand in hand. After two hours of explaining and confusing me i finally understand all the details of the case and why they kept it from me but i am still a little mad that they kept it from me. We all hug and when we pull away from the hug i open my mouth.

I say "I kinda have something to tell you guys."

Dad says "what's wrong sweetheart?"

"Its nothing bad, it actually good news."

"Well what is it baby?"

"Well you know how the other night we were intimate for the first time well our protection didn't quite work. I took a test and it turns out I am pregnant! I know we both wanted to wait till we were married to have kids but this little guy or gal is on it's way now."
