It was almost like I was in a coma...
I could hear everything, but I couldn't move or say anything.
The intense burning sensation was still trying to consume me. I couldn't scream or cry.
I tried to move my foot as one last attempt to try to wake up but I just couldn't do it.
I heard footsteps.
I slowed down my breathing a little and listened intently.
I heard them get closer and closer.
I smelled them too. They must have been wearing some type of cologne. It was so strong it made my throat burn. It was the most intriguing smell... I just couldn't place what they smelled like exactly. My throat felt like it was on fire.
"Oh my God!" I heard a man say in a panicked tone of voice.
"Do you think she's alive?" another man asked.
I heard someone get closer to me.
"She's still breathing... Maybe she's just asleep." He said.
"She's a really deep sleeper then..." He said.
"Maybe we should try to wake her up?" He asked.
"No, I think she's fine..." One of them said.
"I mean what if she turns out to be a freak once we wake her up." He said.
"Yeah, I guess that's true..." I heard him say.
They both started walking away.
I couldn't stop thinking about the burning sensation in my throat. It was like it was so dry. I needed something to drink. Bad.
I heard another set of footsteps coming my way.
"Look's like we've found our next meal..." A woman said quietly.
What?! She had better not be talking about me! Next meal?? I don't think so!
"No, she's not human." A man said. "She's one of us." He continued.
What did he mean??? How could I not be human?! And what were they, if they weren't human!?
"It looks like she's still making the transformation." He said and stepped closer to me.
Making the transformation to what?! Just say it already!
"Let's take her back. See if Demetri thinks she'll be any use to us." He said.
I felt someone put their arm underneath my knees and pick me up off of the ground, carrying me bridal style.
Where were they taking me?!
What was going to happen to me?!
Would I die at this place that I was going to?
Would they hurt me?
I laid limp in the person's arms.
My throat and body still burned.
Suddenly, the person that was carrying me stopped in his tracks.
Oh god, what was he going to do to me??
"Open the door." He commanded.
I heard the hinges on the door squeak.
He laid me down on the bench seat and slammed the door. I heard them get in the front seat. The car never stopped. I wondered how long it was going to take us to get to where ever we were going.
