I walked up and down the halls until I came across Asher.

“I need to ask you about something,” I said and he nodded and walked closer to me.

“Where did you find Luna?” I asked.

“By the docks in downtown Shadow Valley. She was in an alley not too far from a bookstore.” He said.

“Thanks.” I said and nodded as I walked away.

“Why are you wasting your time with her?” He asked, stopping me in my tracks.

I turned to face him. He chuckled and a sly smile played at the corner of his lips.

“It’s none of your business.” I said.

“Oh I think it is.” He said quietly. “She’s your mate isn’t she?” He asked.

I was silent.

“Where’s her necklace?” I asked, growing angry.

I had a sneaking suspicion that he knew exactly where it was.

“She wasn’t wearing one when Ella and I found her. It probably was stolen by a hobo or something…” he said.

“But back to the point. She doesn’t like you. She told me so.” he said.

He couldn’t be serious. I hadn’t seen or heard them talking since Luna was first brought to the castle. And besides, Luna did like me she was just afraid to show it for some reason. She had too. She’s been affectionate, hugging me, holding my hand. She has too.

“My God, have you not forgotten that I can hear your thoughts?” He asked.

“Have you not forgotten that I am your Elder?” I asked, enraged.

He had been pushing my buttons ever since Luna arrived. I was done. I got closer to his face.

“And if I ever hear you speaking to Luna without respect again, so help me God, I will kill you.” I said seething with anger.

He was silent and looked at the ground. I grabbed him by his throat.

“Do you understand?!” I yelled.

His eyes bulged and his face was filled with terror.

I loosened my grip and let him shake his head yes.

“Good.” I answered.

In one swift movement I threw him into a wall, he flew through it.

I walked over to where he lie on the ground, coughing and gasping for air..

“This,” I said and gestured to the nonexistent wall. “Will be cleaned up and repaired by you.”

He nodded between coughing fits. I had to leave before I hurt him even more. that had been building up for days.

I went down into the garage and got into my BMW. I sped down the gravel road and onto the highway.

I was determined to find Luna’s necklace. She might even grow closer to me if I found it.

I needed to find a witch too. One witch came to mind, Hazel Blake. She was a witch who practiced Black and White magic. She was a newer witch but she’d serve the purpose well enough.

Once I reached downtown, I parked my car and walked to the docks. I saw the bookstore and an alley about twenty feet away from it. There was a homeless woman who was probably in her mid thirties sitting on the ground leaning against the brick wall of one of the stores. I looked at her neck. She had a diamond necklace around her neck.
