Chapter: 35

Allison Petterson

Cassie had this knowing smirk on her face. I hate when she has that look on her face! It is quite annoying! They all came inside and went to the living room to sit. I noticed that I was feeling somewhat woozy. I needed to eat badly. I went into the kitchen and made a quick sandwich. I scarfed it down quickly. I defiantly felt better after it.

I took a few sips of a soda too, before going back into the living room. Everyone was participating in some small talk. “Hey guys.” I said from the doorway.

"How are you dear?" My mother-in-law asked me.

I just smiled and patted my belly. “We are good.”

“Let us see how our baby looks.” She pleaded.  I just smiled and nervously said, “Well, before we show you, uhhh.. Nathan and I have something to tell you all.”

Cassie had that look still on her face, while everyone else looked confused.  I went over and sat in Nathan’s lap. He squeezed my hips gently, telling me to go on. I took a deep breath and said, “Well, Cassie you were right, like always.” I muttered the ‘like always’ part.

She jumped up and said, “I KNEW IT! YES!!!”

I felt Nathan shaking his head behind me. “Twins?” Cassie asked, verifying that I had just said that.

I just nodded and she shouted, “HELL YES!”

Her mother shot her an ugly look, while the boys’ mouths dropped. Cassie’s eyes went wide and she smacked her hand over her mouth. I just giggled.  “You are having twins? How did that happen?” Mrs. Kay asked, clearly confused.

“Apparently my doctor could never spot the other one. He was I guess hiding.” Shoot! I slapped my hand over my mouth. Why did I just give that away!

Cassie looked extremely excited right now, while her mother just smiled. The boys looked excited to, another boy that they could play with. Kristi looked happy for us. Nathan wrapped his arms around my belly and rubbed it gently. I leaned into him and sighed happily. “I am glad that I gave you all of those clothes.” Cassie said.

“True. I guess they were mostly boy clothes anyway, huh?” I said in a teasing tone.

She just laughed. “Do you want to go through them right now?”

“Sure.” I was about to get up but she gave me that stern look. I just sighed and moved off Nathan’s lap. Nathan got up and she followed him to the garage. They came back within about 5 minutes with all the baby clothes.

They placed the boxes in front of me. Nathan got out his knife out and cut the tape off. Once the box was opened, my mouth dropped. Crap! Cassie kept a lot of stuff! I do not need any clothes really. I need mainly diaper and bottles.
