Chapter: 36
Allison Petterson
I am at 30 weeks now, 2 weeks has passed since my last visit. It was currently July 5th. I told my mom, brother, sister, and friends last week about the whole twin’s situation. Let me just say, they were so excited and surprised! My baby shower is today also. I have to figure out what I am wearing. I have not even gotten up yet. Nathan is already up. He has work today.
It has been awkward between my brother and us. He caught us about to go at it, and it really freaked him out. He will not even look at me, so you can see how I feel. I decided to stop beating myself up, so I hoisted myself out of bed. I dangle my feet over the edge and grab my phone from my nightstand. I see an alert from the baby app. It was that site I used the first time. I unlock my phone and go to babycenter.com. This site is cool. What is going on with my babies this week? Gosh, I am getting so close. I have 10-11 weeks left.
It says that my babies are about 15.7 inches long and weigh around 3 pounds. It is so crazy! They both are getting so big. They will be here so soon! It also said that there is a pint and a ½ of amniotic fluid surrounding him and her. Their eyesight is continuing to improve.
This site also tells you about how your life is beginning to change. I am feeling a lot more tired than usual, but I have trouble falling asleep sometimes. I feel like I cannot do anything right. I drop things. The site also says that I may start experiencing the hormonal changes as I did at the beginning of the pregnancy. Great! I do not want that!
I exited out of my phone and got up. I stumbled a little bit, but I caught myself. Uh! I have another appointment today anyway. I have to get my mom to take me. She is very excited about going. I know Nathan is not happy that he cannot go, but he has to go to work. I made my way to the bathroom to pee. These children are sitting on my bladder big time. Nathan was in the bathroom getting ready. He was laughing at me. He had better be glad he could not carry a child. I would so laugh at him. He does not see the pain I go through to carry these babies.
I am so huge right now, which you can just imagine. I am getting stretch marks, but I am using a special cream to help. I got up from the toilet and let me just tell you, it was not easy. He just laughed at me on that one too. I just glared at him. I can tell the whole mood is changing. Not good!
I pulled my hair into a bun on my head and went to wash my face. After my face was washed, I applied my morning lotion and moisturizer. After that, I applied some makeup. Once that was done, I pulled my hair out of the bun. Nathan was not in the bathroom anymore. He must have gone to eat and finish getting ready. I have my doctor’s appointment at 9 and the baby shower is at 2.
After my hair was finished, I went to my closet to find some clothes. I found my red shirt that they call a dress shirt. It looks like a dress, but it is a shirt. It is cute! I paired it with a pair of white capris. I slipped on a pair of white Ked’s on my feet. After my clothes were on, I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked cute, but huge! (AN: Her shirt on the side)
My hair fell down my back in loose curls. My makeup was light, but elegant. I waddled into the kitchen to find him gathering his work stuff. “Hey honey!”
“Hey.” He said with a dazzling smile on his face.
“I hate that you can’t go.” I whined..
“I know me too.” He said in the same tone as me. He walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me. I love the feeling of his arms around me. I felt safe.
