Chapter: 39
Allison Petterson
It’s September 12, 2013 and I am at 39 weeks and 6 days. I have been working on online classes. Right now, I do not know what I am going for. All I know is that I want a degree. Classes have been hard for me to do, due to the constant back pain I am experiencing. I have been going to the doctor every week. I have to go today to be exact.
Nathan has been trying to stay with me, but he has to work before our baby gets here. I am actually supposed to have someone with me right now, but I am alone. Everyone was so busy that the family could not come and sit with me. I was not complaining though.
I believe Kristi is driving over later to check on me. She is at school right now, alongside all my other friends and family. My brother has moved into a new place and is currently dating a girl named Samantha who is really sweet. I really like her. She is good for him! Cassie is secretly seeing someone also. She just will not tell us yet.
I have been feeling very funny today and I do not know why! I have been feeling lighter the past few weeks as if my uterus does not feel so heavy. I have been reading about it and that is a sign that labor would happen soon. Plus, I have been having those damn Braxton Hicks Contractions. Those damn things hurt! They have been more frequent. It is a killer. I was freaked out a few days ago when I had a lot of discharge. I called my doctor and she told me it was my mucus plug. I did not even ask. I just said ok.
I have a feeling that I cannot shake today. I hope my babies are okay. I have not really felt them much today. I hope Nathan hurries home soon..
A few hours pass and I am starting to hurt. I play them off again as Braxton Hicks. They felt the same, just a little more painful. Shit this hurts! Ugh! Kristi hurry up and get here doll! When she finally arrives, she comes in all happy. She looks over at me and her face widens. “Aunt Alli are you alright?”
“I am-“ Then another contraction hits me cutting off my sentence.
She rushed to my side and began to rub my back. I was twisted into some kind of weird position. Do not ask me how I even got there because I do not know. Once my contraction had subsided, I straightened up. “Kristi, I think I am in labor.”
“OH SHIT!” She said aloud. I looked over and gave her a disapproving look. She offered me an apologetic smile.
“I think I need to-“ I doubled over with another one.
These seem closer together. I need to go now. When it calmed I said, “Go to my room and get my bag.” She nodded and hurried off. I pull out my phone and call Nathan.
While I was waiting for him to answer, Kristi rushed back. She grabbed me and helped me out.
"Hello?” He said in an annoyed tone.
“Ahh.” I grunted as I ducked into Kristi’s car.
“Baby, what’s wrong???” He was on the verge of panic.
