"Are you jealous?" Charlie asked Connie as he watched her follow Rita and Jacob around the department with her eyes.
Connie quickly turned her attention away from them and to Charlie instead, giving him a disapproving look. "I don't get jealous, Charlie"
Charlie held up his hands and shrugged, a small smirk of amusement formed on his lips.
Connie rolled her eyes at him and strode purposefully to her office.

Connie exhaled slowly and rubbed her temples in frustration as she tried to focus her eyes away from them. But she couldn't tear her gaze away from them. No matter how hard she tried to concentrate on the notes in front of her, it was impossible to focus.
She threw her pen onto the desk before standing up and briskly walking to the door.
"Nurse Masters, Nurse Freeman, could you please refrain from public displays of affection while you are on shift? This is a hospital, not your bedroom."
Connie crossed her arms and glared at the pair. For the last five minutes they had stood directly outside of her office door, unable to keep their hands of each other, unable to tear their lips apart.
Jacob grinned at her. "Sorry boss, won't happen again"
Connie raised an eyebrow, stuck her tongue in her cheek, then turned away, back into her office, slamming the door firmly behind her. She twisted the cord of the blinds so they closed, forcing the pair out of view, then turned around and took a deep breath. They had only been together a week, but she was sick of seeing them constantly flaunting their relationship around the department.
As soon as the blinds had been shut completely, Rita rapidly took her arms away from Jacob's neck and Jacob promptly removed his hands from Rita's waist, as they both took a step away from each other.
A smile of accomplishment crept onto Jacob's face.
Rita placed her hands loosely on her hips and let out an exasperated sigh.
"Remind me why, I thought agreeing to this was a good idea, Jacob?"
Jacob just grinned at her "don't worry, it seems to be working sooner than I thought"
He began to make his way over to Max, who was leant against the nurses station intently observing.
Max slapped Jacob on the back and gave him an impressed look. "I don't believe it! You were right man"
Jacob stood beside him and leant backwards against the side, crossing his arms loosely as he stared at Connie's office. "She just can't resist me, but, who could blame her?" he grinned at Max, picked up some notes from the station and headed to cubicles.

"How's the little plan coming along?" Cal asked Jacob when he saw him entering the staff room.
"Come on then, let's hear the details" Robyn who was sat with Cal also looked up when he entered and gave him an eager look.
Jacob sauntered into the room and opened his locker. "She is soo jealous"
He turned to them, unable to contain the look of satisfaction on his face.
Max entered behind him and and joined the three of them in the staff room. "You should have seen the look she gave them when she stormed out of her office to discipline them for their 'public displays of affection'!"
Max impersonated Connie's earlier actions and the group burst into laughter.
Jacob clapped his hands together. "I bet, I can get her to kiss me before the shift ends"
The other three raised their eyebrows in disbelief. "That's a bit wishful thinking, don't you think?"
Jacob just chuckled and headed back into the department.

Rita reluctantly let Jacob's arm wrap around her waist as they stood next to each other outside resus.
She crossed her arms and looked up at Jacob, an unimpressed look on her face. "I can't believe I'm doing this"
"Just try to look like you're enjoying it"
Rita gave Jacob a sarcastic smile, uncrossed her arms and wrapped them around his body.
Connie walked out of resus doors and strode by the pair, pretending she hadn't seen them, despite it being obvious that she had.
Jacob whispered in Rita's ear as Connie passed "look at her, trying so hard to not let it show"
They both laughed.
Connie picked up the pace as she headed back to her office. She couldn't take much more of this, it was driving her insane. She wanted him.

Her shift was over, so Connie put on her coat and swung her bag onto her shoulder. She was definitely ready to get out of the hospital, away from the sight of Jacob and Rita.
She shut the door of her office and turned around to find Jacob waiting for her.
"Can I help you Staff Nurse Masters?"
Jacob took a step closer to her.
Connie felt her heart quicken in her chest, like the sight of Jacob always did. She tried her best to keep her face expressionless as she looked into these deep brown eyes. She hated the way they made her insides melt.
Jacob slowly inched his face closer to hers, keeping his eyes locked on hers.
A few weeks ago, Jacob had asked her out for a drink but she had declined. Not because she didn't want to, in fact it was the complete opposite - she was falling for him.
She refused to admit her feelings, refused to let him in, so declined his offer.
This time though, she couldn't resist, she gave in.
She closed her eyes as his lips touched hers. She had waited so long for his touch, spent so much time having to watch him with someone else...
She quickly pulled away as she remembered Rita.
"Wait, Jacob, Rita?!"
She stepped back and looked around to check if anyone had seen the kiss.
She was utterly horrified to find that they did in fact have a large audience.
She opened her mouth in shock as she ran her eyes around the rest of the staff who had gathered around to watch.
Rita stepped forward from the group and Connie anxiously waited, expecting to be confronted by her for kissing Jacob.
But Rita turned to Jacob instead.
"Well, thank god I don't have to pretend to be madly in love with you anymore"
Connie shot her a confused look and did the same to Jacob.
"Pretend to be in love...?"
The rest of the staff couldn't hold back their amusement anymore, and the sound of laughter erupted from the group.
Connie slowly turned around to face them.
"Wait...what is going on..."
Then it clicked.
Rita and Jacob weren't together.
It was all just a plan to make her jealous.
She wanted to be angry, but could feel a smile playing on her lips.
She addressed her staff. "You all knew?"
She was met with nods and further laughter.
She crossed her arms and turned to face Jacob, biting her lip to prevent the laughter, giving him her best disapproving look.
"Staff Nurse Masters"
He grinned at her. "I knew you couldn't resist me Mrs B"
