"I'm back" Connie shouted as she opened the front door. It had been a long, tiring day at work but finally, she was home.
She bent down to slip off her heels then stood up and took off her coat, hanging it on the hook by the door. She frowned when there was no reply.
"Jacob?"
Still silence. She was puzzled, where was he?

She walked down the hallway, popping her head in the living room as she passed, but it was empty. She did the same in the study, also empty. As she continued down the hall she noticed that the kitchen door was closed and a frown returned to her face - the kitchen door was rarely shut as she preferred to always keep it pinned open. As she approached closer, she could hear a soft murmur of music coming from within the room and paused outside to listen.
She cautiously pushed the door and smiled as she took in the sight in front of her. It was dim, as the only lighting came from the soft glow of candles which were placed around the room, but the table had been carefully set for a romantic meal.

Connie heard the front door open and turned around to find Jacob walking towards her with a large bunch of flowers in his arms and a bottle of wine.
"You're not supposed to be back yet, I'm not quite ready for you" Jacob had expected her to be another fifteen minutes, so had been to the shop to purchase the final touches.
"Sorry, I managed to slip away a bit early" Connie gave him an apologetic look.
Jacob stepped passed her and put the flowers in the empty vase that he had already placed in the middle of the table, then placed the bottle of wine next to the glass in her place.
He walked back to the doorway where Connie was waiting and held out his hand "now I'm ready" Connie took his hand and let him lead her to one of the chairs. Jacob pulled it out and waited for her to take sit down, then pushed the chair back in before he took his own seat, opposite Connie.
"What's all this for?" Connie asked, wondering what the special occasion was.
Jacob opened the wine and poured some into Connie's glass. "Do I need a reason to treat my lady to dinner?"
Connie blushed as she picked up the glass and took a sip.

"Erm Jacob, is something supposed to smell like it's burning?"
Jacob immediately stood up and opened the oven door, to find the meal he had prepared earlier now very burnt.
"Problem?" Connie asked, trying to stifle her laugh.
"No..." Jacob lied. "Wait here, I will be back in five."
Jacob rushed passed Connie and ran out of the front door.
Connie watched him in amusement and took another sip of wine.
Five minutes passed, still no Jacob. Connie finished her wine and poured another glass.

Jacob returned ten minutes later and walked into the kitchen holding a pizza box. He placed it in the middle of the table and lifted the lid.
"Bon appetit!"
Connie raised an eyebrow. "Wow Jacob"
Jacob sat back down at his place and gave her an apologetic look. "Sorry sweetcheeks, this is not exactly how I planned this evening"
Connie pushed back her chair and took slow steps towards Jacob, stopping when she was stood directly behind him. She placed her hands on his shoulders and bent down so her face was next to his. "What else did you have planned for this evening? I'm sure we could bring those plans forward..."
"It's not time for those plans yet" Jacob teased as he reached for a slice of pizza. "Besides, I'm hungry"
Connie slowly removed her hands from his shoulders before walking away from him. "I see" she said without turning around.

She picked up her glass from the table but didn't sit down. She kept her eyes locked on Jacob's as she took another sip.
He couldn't wait. He pushed back his chair and approached Connie, stopping when he was directly in front of her. He took the wine glass out of her hand and placed it back on the table. He slid his hands down her sides and rested them on her hips and leant in to meet her lips.
Connie raised and eyebrow and moved her face to the side. "Its not time for those plans yet Jacob. Besides, I'm thirsty" she mocked Jacob's previous words, giving him a smirk.
"That's a shame" Jacob pulled Connie closer.
Connie wrapped her arms around his neck. "Hmm it is"
Jacob planted a trail of light kisses from her collarbone up to her ear. "Still thirsty? Or can we move on to my next plan" he whispered.
Connie tipped her head slightly to the side and bit her bottom lip. "Oh I don't know about that, I mean, I'm quite thirsty, and we can't let the pizza go to waste-"
Jacob attached his lips to Connie's to stop her talking.
They stumbled out of the kitchen and down the hall, their lips still passionately locked.
They managed the first few step of the stairs, before Jacob lost his footing and fell forward with Connie underneath him.
Jacob moved his hands from Connie's waist to push him self back up, but she pulled him back down on her by his shirt and reattached her lips. Connie's hands roamed his upper body while Jacob ran his hands down her thighs.
"I had planned something a little more classy" Jacob managed to get out in between kisses.
Connie traced her fingers on his back and smiled. "What, like your dinner of takeaway pizza?"
