"I'm home." Connie called as she stepped into the house and slipped of her heels by the front door.
"I'm in the living room." Jacob replied.
Connie removed her coat, hanging it on the hook, before placing her handbag down and making her way to the living room.
Jacob gave Connie a warm smile as she approached him and sat beside him to join him on the sofa.
Connie curled her legs beneath her as she sunk into the sofa with a sigh.
"I missed you so much." Jacob said as he leaned over to give her a quick kiss.
"I was only gone for an hour." Connie raised her eyebrows.
"Still missed you." Jacob smiled.
"I guess I missed you too." Connie smiled.
"So sweetcheeks, should we decide where we're going to go, now that you're back?" Jacob asked.
The pair had both taken the day off work today, with plans to do something together. Connie had been called in due to a minor issue in the department that morning, but now that she was back, they could resume their plans.
Connie bit her lip. "I er..."
"You would rather not go out today" Jacob finished for her.
"It's not that, I'm just...I think I would rather spend the day relaxing at home. It's not often I get the chance." Connie gave him a small smile, feeling a little guilty as she knew that Jacob had been looking forward to a day out.
"You know what, I think a relaxing day sounds like a better idea anyway." Jacob gave her a reassuring smile.
The pair sat in a comfortable silence for a while, as Jacob continued to watch the tv and Connie tipped her head back against the sofa.
"What are you looking at?" Connie asked, when she looked up to find Jacob now staring at her.
Jacob chuckled, causing Connie to deepen the frown she was giving him. "What's so funny?" She asked defensively.
"Woah chill sweetcheeks." He smiled. "I'm just wondering what we could do... I mean, we have the house to ourselves while Grace is at school, yet here we are just watching the tv."
"So...what are you suggesting then?" Connie asked innocently.
Jacob pretended to be deep in thought for a moment, before slowly moving towards Connie. "Hmm, I don't know."
"I think I might have an idea." Connie smiled playfully, sitting up to meet Jacob and pressing her lips against his.
Jacob pushed Connie back into the sofa, without breaking their kiss, and took hold of Connie's wrists in one of his, holding them above her head.
He pulled away, earning a questioning look from Connie. Jacob just grinned and ran his free hand down Connie's side, moving towards the spot he knew was especially ticklish.
Connie's eyes widened and she shook her head, when she realised what he was doing, immediately trying to release her hands, but Jacob retained his hold and chuckled as he began to tickle her.
"Jacob, I'm not in the mood." Connie giggled as she squirmed beneath him.
"Please....Stop." Connie pleaded as he continued to tickle her.
Jacob let go of Connie's hands, so he could use them both to tickle the pot on either side of Connie, resulting in her attempts to roll away from him.
"I'm being serious... Stop now." Connie said as she tried to move his hands away from her, but failing to override his stronger arms.
Jacob finally removed his hands from Connie's body and grinned down at her, only to receive a scowl from Connie, who pushed him away so she could get up from the chair.
"Where are you going?" Jacob laughed.
But Connie's face was serious and she faced him with her arms crossed. "It's not funny Jacob." She said plainly.
Jacob rose from the sofa and stood in front of her. "It was just a bit of fun." He smiled.
Connie pushed her tongue in her cheek before turning away. "I certainly didn't find it fun." She retorted.
"Someone's moody today." Jacob laughed as he reached out to pull her into a hug.
But Connie simply walked away, heading out of the room.
Jacob watched open mouthed as she left the room, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Is she actually being serious." He muttered to himself.

"Connie." He called after her.
"Oh come on, I was just having a laugh." He tried again when he got no reply.
Jacob exhaled in exasperation and rolled his eyes before making his way out of the room to find her.

Connie sat at the kitchen table on her phone, she didn't bother to look up when she heard Jacob enter the room.
"Is someone sulking." Jacob asked playfully.
"I would watch it if I were you." Connie replied bluntly.
"I'm sorry." Jacob said.
Connie remained silent.
"Connie." Jacob tried.
"What?"
"I said I'm sorry." Jacob tried again.
"Ok." Connie said bluntly, still not looking up from her phone.
"So..." Jacob waited awkwardly for any more response from Connie.
"So, you can leave now." Connie told him, finally looking up.
"Are you really still sulking about this." Jacob laughed lightly, in an attempt to lighten the mood. "You have to be kidding."
Connie raised one eyebrow slightly and retained her glare. "Do I look like I'm kidding?" She asked.
"Er, no..." Jacob said hesitantly.
"Well then." Connie gave him a sarcastic smile before turning her attention back to her phone.
"Rightt... I guess I will be going then." Jacob mumbled as he frowned and walked away.

He shook his head as he re entered the living room and slumped back into his seat on the sofa.

An hour passed and Connie still hadn't re joined him in the living room, so Jacob made his way back to the kitchen.
"Right, I'm sorry." Jacob said as he stood in the doorway and crossed his arms. "I'm sorry for tickling you, I was just having a bit of fun, so I apologise if you didn't like it."
"Okay." Connie replied, her voice a little less harsh than earlier, but still blunt.
Jacob shrugged. "That's all I can say."
Connie let out a deep breath. She knew she was over reacting about this, but she didn't want to back down.
She crossed her arms and locked her eyes on his.
"Okay... I accept your apology." Connie finally broke the silence.
Jacob didn't reply.
Connie pushed her tongue in her cheek, she knew exactly what he was doing.
"Are you in a mood now." Connie asked, but Jacob remained silent.
Connie finally dropped the eye contact and shook her head. He could be just as stubborn as her sometimes.
"I'm sorry." She and quietly.
"Sorry what was that?" Jacob asked, his expression blank.
"I'm sorry." Connie said louder.
"I may have overreacted a little bit..." She sighed.
Jacob raised his eyebrows.
"Okay a lot." Connie said with a small smile.
Jacob tried to keep a straight face but a smirk escaped his lips.
Connie stood up and walked towards him.
"I apologise for how moody I have been."
"Apology accepted." Jacob said, keeping his arms crossed and leaning against the doorframe.
Connie stepped past him and took a few steps down the hall before turning back to him.
"Come on then." She said, before turning back around.
"Where are we going?" He asked with a puzzled look.
"Well I have an idea how to make it up to you..." Connie called playfully behind her as she reached the stairs.
Jacob grinned and turned to follow her.
