"How are you feeling sweetcheeks?" Jacob asked quietly as he popped his head around the living room door to check on Connie.
She was unwell and had so far spent the day curled up on the sofa with her duvet.
"Hm." Connie mumbled, without opening her eyes.
"Head still hurt?" Jacob asked with a sigh.
Connie opened her eyes a fraction and nodded.
Jacob checked his watch for the time. "You can have some more tablets in half an hour okay?"
Connie nodded slowly and let out a deep breath. Her head was pounding and her whole body ached.
Jacob watched her from the door, he hated to see her like this.
He entered the room and sat on the floor beside the sofa, at the end where she had her head resting on the chair.
"Is there anything else I can do to help?" He asked helplessly.
Connie shook her head and winced as it aggravated the pain. "Just make this headache go away." She whispered through gritted teeth.
Jacob stroked her forehead gently and sighed. "Try to get some rest." He whispered gently, moving his hands through her hair.
Connie relaxed her head into the sofa and focussed on Jacob's soothing movements.
Jacob smiled as Connie's eyes slowly shut, then her breathing slow, as she drifted to sleep.
Jacob removed his fingers from her curls and stood up, leaning in to place a gentle kiss on Connie's cheek before quietly making his way out of the room.Connie woke up a few hours later and slowly opened her eyes. Her head wasn't so painful anymore, the pain had begun to ease. She slowly sat up and frowned at the silence, she couldn't seem to hear any sign of Jacob in the house. Connie exhaled and put one hand to her head as she went to reach for the glass of water on the table beside her. There was a small note of paper beside her glass and she picked it up, to find Jacob's writing on it
'Sweetcheeks,
I'm have just popped out to buy some more paracetamol-
Will be back soon,
I love you x'Connie smiled and gently placed the not back down on the table before gently resting her head back down.
Jacob was quiet to unlock the front door and step inside, remove his shoes and jacket, then make his way to the living room.
He smiled when he saw Connie now awake and sat down on the end of the sofa, moving her legs to rest onto his knee.
"Feeling better?" He asked.
"A little." Connie said with a small smile, sitting up from her lying position.
"I have some presents for you." Jacob chuckled, reaching into the bag.
Connie smiled as Jacob pulled out a hot water bottle, paracetamol, ibroprufen, a small teddy bear and some chocolate.
"Thank you." She said quietly.
"Anything for you." He smiled.
Connie slowly moved over towards Jacob, and rested her head carefully against his chest. "I love you." She whispered.
Jacob wrapped his arm around her and placed a kiss on the top of her head. "I love you more." He whispered into her hair.
