"What's this?" Jacob asked with a frown as he was stopped by Connie on his way to cubicles and handed a white envelope.
"Open it and find out." Connie smiled.
Jacob looked inside to find that there were two tickets, which he pulled out and studied.
He looked up and raised his eyebrows.
"Two tickets to Paris..."
"Surprise." Connie grinned.
Jacob looked at her in awe, this really was a fantastic surprise. He looked back down at the tickets in his hand to read the details.
"Wait...we fly tonight?" He said with a frown as he looked back up a moment later.
Connie nodded.
Jacob's smile faded slightly. "But I haven't booked the time off work and-"
"Already cleared it with Rita." Connie replied confidently.
"Perks of being the boss." She whispered.
The smile crept back onto Jacob's face and stretched into a wide grin. "You really are amaz-"
"Jacob." An impatient voice called from behind them.
Connie placed a hand on her hip and have him a mock disapproving look. "Stop slacking and get back to work, staff nurse Masters. You're not on holiday yet."
"Yes boss." Jacob smiled before continuing on his way.---
"How many pairs of heels?" Jacob exclaimed with an open mouth as he watched Connie place pair number six into the suitcase.
Connie rolled her eyes and looked around at the array of clothes she was sat among on the floor. "Jacob, a woman can never have too many pairs of heels."
Jacob checked his watch and shook his head at the slow progress Connie was making with her packing, having finished his an hour ago now.
"You do realise that we are only going for a week?" He asked sarcastically. "I think the amount that you're packing is a bit unnecessary."
Connie continued to pack the remaining items of clothing into the suitcase until it was full. "And you do realise that your opinion is invalid." Connie said with a sweet smile, before closing the lid and zipping it up.---
Connie checked her handbag for their passports one last time before stepping out of the front door.
"Right, have we got everything?" She asked Jacob, who was stood just outside the house, impatiently waiting for her.
"With the amount you packed I'm pretty sure we have everything we need."
Connie ignored him and picked up the keys from the side, before stepping out to join him and locking the front door. "Ok." She smiled. "Let's go." She said, taking his hand in hers as they walked to the car.
