How To Mend A Broken Heart

Chapter 24

The next morning you woke up early to the sunlight shining in your eyes. It was quite early so you decided to finish working on your suit.

You quickly changed and quietly walked down stairs seeing Hiccup peacefully on the couch, and Toothless sleeping by the fire pit. You smiled lightly at the sleeping duo before quietly leaving out the front door. When you walked outside you breathed in awe.

The sky was filled with different kinds of oranges and reds from the sun still rising. It was a beautiful sight. You than felt the cold crisp air surround you causing goosebumps to form on your skin.

You than quickly made your way to the forge letting the heat greet you instantly. After about an hour or so people started coming out from their homes attending their daily jobs. After a little while Hiccup came in and greeted you.

"Good morning m'lady. I was going to expand my map a little and I was wondering if you'll join me?"

"Yeah sure I would love that," you replied with a smile.

"Alright we'll leave in a few minutes, you working on your suit?"

"Yeah just needed to add a few things. C'mon lets go!"

You than took his hand in yours and ran out the forge. Gobber was in the front smiling at the two of you. You than whistled for Midnight.

After about a minute Midnight and Toothless came bounding over to the two of you with gummy smiles.

"There you guys are, c'mon Midnight were going flying."

You and Hiccup than hopped onto your dragons and flew up into the sky.

After awhile you both spot an island and decided to land there. When you landed you both charted the island on your maps.

"Okay we'll just explore the island and see what we can find anything sound good?" Hiccup asked.

"Yeah lets go."

You both than walked into the woods just chatting lightly.

"So, what made you come out here and explore?" you asked curious stepping over roots trying not to fall.

"Well, since I've became chief I haven't been able to go out and explore as much as I used to. Today I didn't have to do much so I decided to take the opportunity and explore."

You nodded in understanding keeping your eyes on the ground trying to keep from falling. Both nightfuries were trailing behind watching their surroundings.

"That's understandable and what made you pick me to help you explore?"

"I just wanted to spend some time with you, just have some time to ourselves with out any distractions."

You were so suprised by his answer that you didn't see the root sticking out of the ground. By the time you looked it was too late. Your foot got caught making you fall so you closed your eyes and waited for the impact. You waited but felt no pain. You than slowly opened your eyes and saw two hands around your waist.

"Woah, careful there I don't want you getting hurt, you alright?"

He than pulled you up making your cheeks red as fury. You than turned around trying to hide your face.

"Yeah I-Im fine, c'mon lets keep going."

After a few minutes of walking you both came to a cliff. You than spotted a ship on the island.

"Looks like we're not the only ones."

"Yeah" You were looking at the ship.

"Well lets just get a little closer and see who it is."

"Are you sure Hic? What if something happens?"

"Don't worry nothing is gonna happen c'mon."

You both than climbed onto your dragons and flew closer to the ship. The ship looked familar and when you clearly saw the ship your eyes widen.

"Hic we have to go back now before they see us."

"What's wrong do you know them?"

"Yes and there not good people let's go."

Before you could fly away you heard a voice.

"Hey you, turn around so I can see you both!"

You both slowly turned around and you saw Scar at the front of the ship staring at Midnight than at you.

"Hello Scar nice to see you again." you said.

"Shrimp boy your a girl? Well this is surprising. You know you never gave me my pay, so now your gonna have to pay. Guards shoot the girl!"

You tried flying away but it was already to late.

"[Name]! Watch out!" Hiccup yelled. You than felt an intensifying pain in yout left shoulder. When you looked you saw an arrow sticking out.

"C'mon lets go!"

Midnight and Toothless flew as fast as they could before any more damage was caused.

"[Name] are you okay?"

"Yeah... I've been through worse."
You were starting to get dizzy and the pain grew worse by the second. Your vision was blurry and there was black dots sprouting your vision. Your grip grew tighter on the saddle turning your knuckles white so you wouldn't fall off the saddle.

"Just hang in there were almost there."

After a few minutes you both landed in the center of Berk. You slid down from Midnight trying to keep your balance while Midnight was trying to help you stand up.

"Hic..cup" was the last thing you said before you fell to the ground unconscious.
