How To Mend A Broken Heart

Chapter 41

You were sleeping peacefully snuggled up under the warm covers. You felt so at peace, until you felt something big and heavy land ontop of you.

"Happy Snoggletog!" Astrid yelled.

You jumped up wheezing slightly as you saw Midnight sitting ontop of you making a gurgle sound.

"Sweet Thor Astrid! You almost gave me a heart attack!"

She just laughed as Midnight made a cooing sound.

"Happy Snoggletog to you Astrid too. Now get off me you over grown lizard," you said pushing Midnight off.

"Alright get ready we have to set up the Great Hall and the food."

"Okay just give me a few minutes to get ready."

Astrid nodded as she walked out with Midnight letting you get ready.

After getting ready you and Astrid left the house and flew to the Great Hall. When you both entered you were greeted by the rest of the gang except the only one missing was Hiccup.

You figured the Hiccup was running around the village trying to get things done before the Snoggletog party. You were quickly snapped out of your daze as Astrid spoke up.

"Okay this is the list of things we need to set up before tonight."

Astrid than showed you the list before you both started to order the gang to set up the last minute things that needed to be done.

The whole gang split up in different directions making you turn to Eret.

"Okay Eret I'm going to need you to make sure the food is ready by tonight alright?"

"Okay."

"Okay good, I'm going to need to finish up a couple of things myself."

You than bid a quick goodbye towards him before leaving out the door towards the forge.

Later that night the music was playing and people were dancing and feasting having the greatest time. You were sitting at a table watching everyone interact with one another.

You had talked with a few people but you were slightly uncomfortable but you delt with it none the less. You weren't used to being around a lot of people since you pretty much grew up alone.

You were happy though watching the people and listening slightly to their conversations. You were also growing nervous as you scanned the area trying to find Hiccup. You fiddled with the gift that was in your pocket nervously. You jusy prayed to Odin that he would like it.

As you scanned the area you saw a little girl running to her mother's side looking around shyly as she saw the people pass by. Her mother smiled at her as the little girl's father picked her up and set her up onto his lap.

You smiled slightly seeing the family together before you felt a nudge on your arm. When you looked beside you, you saw Midnight giving you a concerned face. Her bright violet eyes staring into yours.

"I'm fine Midnight, c'mon lets go outside for a bit."

You than got up as you walked out the door with Midnight beside you.

Inside Hiccup was looking all over for you, finally being able to escape from some of the villagers who were talking to him. Luckily they were distracted making Hiccup have a chance to escape.

He looked all around but he couldn't find you. He asked the gang but they said that they haven't seen you. Hiccup thought where you could've gone until he looked at the doors.

It than clicked in his mind that you were probably outside so he quickly made his way to the entrance excusing himself as he passed by people. Once he opened the door he saw you sitting down beside Midnight looking up at the starry night sky.

He wondered why you were out here until he figured out why.

You had no family to celebrate with.

He knew that you were upset but he wanted to change that and make you happy and that was exactly what he was going to do.

He than walked forward and sat beside you.

"Hello mi'lady."

"Hey Hic," you smiled.

It was slient for a minute as Hiccup fiddled with a little box in his pocket nervously. He than coughed slightly before speaking up.

"I...uh, here I made you something," he said nervously as he handed you a little wrapped box.

He mentally cursed himself for being so nervous.

While you unwrapped the little box you couldn't but smile at how nervous Hiccup was. Hiccup was rubbing the back of his neck which made you chuckle lowly.

Once you opened it and saw what was inside the box you gasped slightly.

You saw a silver bracelet with violet gems with two little nightfuries in a shape of a heart. It shined brightly in the moonlight. You stared in awe before looking up at Hiccup.

"You made this?"

Hiccup gave a nod.

"Hiccup its so beautiful," you said in awe.

"Want me to put it on?"

You gave a nod as he gently took your hand in his and wrapped the bracelet around your wrist, and clip it on with his fingers slightly brushing agaisnt yours.

"I...uh also made you something too," you said taking out a little box.

You handed it to him as you rubbed your arm nervously making him smile.

As he opened it his smile grew wider as he saw what was inside.

What he saw was a black leather bracelet with his name stitched in red lettering with a little night fury symbol at the end.

Once he slipped it on he smiled at you before speaking.

"Do you what we do when we can't be with the ones we love?"

You gave a nod for him to continue.

"We celebrate them."
