Chapter 37

After you both shook hands you and the gang left the great hall and walked towards the academy. Some of the people that were in the great hall that saw you and Astrid followed. They wanted to see who would win this duel.

As you all arrived at the academy Astrid had her axe in hand while you had your swords strapped to your back.

"Alright here are the rules-" Fishlegs spoke but got cut off by Snotlout.

"There are no rules in this duel. I wanna see someone's butt get kicked!" Snotlout smirked.

"Im betting on Astrid," Tuff said.

"No, no, no, [Name] is going to win this. She's like a fiery warrior," Ruff said.

The gang than left the arena leaving you and Astrid. They walked outside to the top watching you both.

"You ready?" you asked pulling both swords out in one swift movement.

"Yep, lets get this started," Astrid said holding her battle axe.

"One...two...three FIGHT!" Fishlegs yelled.

You and Astrid than circled eachother with weponds in hand. Without hesitating Astrid charged forward bringing her axe down but you simply dodged by rolling out if the way.

As you two fought Hiccup was walking past the academy but saw the whole village surround the arena. Hiccup looked confused seeing everyone.

'What in thor's name...' Hiccup thought. He didn't know what was going on so he turned and walked towards the academy.

When he walks closer he saw his mom and Gobber looking down inside the arena from the chief's seat.

"What's going on?" Hiccup asked as he walked towards his mother.

"Oh Hiccup you need to see this," Valka spoke not taking her eyes off of you and Astrid.

Hiccup than walked closer to his mom following her gaze downwards seeing you and Astrid having a battle.

Hiccup than sat down and kept his eyes on you. He watched in awe as you dodged Astrid's attacks swiftly with ease. He watched you while you sent little blows to Astrid with her recovering quickly.

While he watched he knew you were trying to out smart Astrid by your quick movements and fast thinking and he was right.

Astrid was fast and strong and could take anyone out easily. You were quick and light on your feet. If you thought quickly and smartly you could win and that's exactly what you tried to do.

Astrid might be strong but so were you. Astrid saw a chance and quickly took it by knocking out your sword from your right hand. This made the villagers cheer in excitement.

You than tossed your sword to your right hand and lunged at Astrid. Both your blades crashing agaist one another making you both come face to face.

You pushed forward as Astrid tried pushing you backwards. You both were using all your strength trying to push one another.

You looked down slightly making a small smirk appear. With one quick movement you kicked her legs causing her to fall making her drop her axe.

She landed with a grunt but tried reaching her axe that was laying on the ground. You quickly picked up her axe and put your foot down on her chest. You didn't put down a lot of pressure but just enought to keep her down.

With axe in hand you put your sword and axe on both sides of her neck. Both blades were on each side of her neck and at that moment she knew you had won.

"I win," you said breathlessly.

"[Name] wins the fight!" Gobber shouted loudly with a wide grin in place.

The villagers than went wild cheering and whistling loudly.
Hiccup stood up and cheered loudly with the others.

You and Astrid were breathing heavily as you helped her up.

"Not bad [Name], not bad at all," Astrid smiled.

"Same to you, you can seriously kick butt," you said with a breathless laugh.

She also laughed and took your hand and raised it high in the air towards the villagers who were still cheering loudly.

You smiled at all the people until your eyes locked with electric green eyes. Hiccup smiled and cheered never taking his eyes off you.

After everyone cleared out the gang came up to you and Astrid as you both exited the academy.

"I told you she was a warrior," Ruff said giving you a high five.

"Nice moves you got there [Name]," Eret said smiling.

"Thanks, learned them myself," you grinned.

"Hey you have to teach me those moves," Astrid said.

"Me too!" Ruff said.

"Well whoever wants to learn I'll be happy to teach."

"Nice duel you guys, you both did great," Hiccup smiled.

"Thanks stable boy and if you want I can show you my moves."

"Oh, did you hear that Hiccup she'll show you her moves," Snotlout said wiggling his eyebrows.

"Get your head out of the gutter snotface," you said.

Everyone laughed at Snotlout while he just crossed his arms and pouted.
