CHAPTER 16: Long Time No See

[Mayu's P.O.V.]

I cover my mouth para pigilan ang paglabas ng mga kinain ko at mariin na lang akong napapikit. The image of trees we're flashing in my face, while on the other hand, Yohan, mukhang enjoy na enjoy nya pa talaga><

I coudn't see Darque anywhere but i knew na nandyan lang yung batang yun. Nakapikit pa rin ako and i use my free hand to cling on his cloked for my dear life!

Soon, i notice na bumabagal na si Yohan at maya maya, tuluyan na kaming huminto sa likod ng mataas na puno. Binaba na nya ako and he placed a finger on his lips, still grinning like crazy.

Darque was standing behind us, she tapped Yohan's shoulder and said, "I win."

"If i could go any faster, Mayuyu will throw up her dinner."-He snorted. Pero wait....

"Mayuyu...?"

"An endearment, ang haba kasi ng pangalan mo e."-he said with a smirked. Napairap na lang ako sakanya. Para sasabihin lang na MA-YU e hindi pa masabi. Mas mahaba nga yung Mayuyu nya.

Yohan jerked his finger on the side of the tree para makita ang nasa harap namin. Ganun din ang ginawa ko sa kabilang side. The furry monster was curled up at the foot of another tree. It's tail look like scorpions and the spike at the tip looked poisonous and deadly. Nakakaramdam ako ng humihinga sya at kada gagawin nya iyon, may lumalabas na puff of purple thing which looked like, "Poison..."-i whispered.

"The boy from before..."-i said, "I wonder kung sino sya."

"I think the boy transformed into a monster."-Darque breathed. "This monster looks like a Manticore."

Yohan frowed, "Manticore?"

I nodded and smiled at him. Mahilig akong magbasa ng libro, kahit ano pa yan basta libro. Except for pornography-_- "A Myhological creature. Poisonous, spiky tails, may or may not have wings, shoot poison spikes. Through, wala akong nabasa tungkol sa kaso ng isang to."-sabi ko sakanya. I frowed, "I think we can use the trees para maiwasan ang mga atake nito saatin."

"I'll attack it."-sabi nya. "You back up." I hesitated at first but nodded. Mission ko to kaya dapat ako ang mas marami ang magagawa. Hindi sya.

"Be careful, try not to get hurt."

"You too."-i said and held my hand, palm facing the ground. Napangiti na lang si Yohan at umiling iling saka pinatonga ng kamay nya sa ibabaw ng kamay ko. Ngumiti din si Darque at pinatong ang kanya sa ibabaw ng kamay ni Yohan. "Let's do this guys."

[Third Person's P.O.V.]

Mayu attached her magic strings to Darque, as Yohan manage to convice Mayu that he can manage on his own.

Yohan nodded at Mayu at ganun din si Mayu kay Yohan. She flicked her fingers and imagine Darque's wielding a black fire. Darque then flung a disk of fire towards the monster. The monster was hit by it's side at nagising ito with a roar. Tumingin ito kina Darque.

"Split!"-sigaw ni Yohan at pumunta sya sa kaliwa. Pumunta naman si Mayu sa kanan at nagtago sa puno. Yohan jumped out of the way when the monster shot several spiked which was coated with poison towards him. Yohan jumped again ng atakihin nanaman sya nito. Tiningnan nya lang ang ground which is now began to stream and the earth melting. Mayu was about to make a move pero pinigilan sya ni Yohan by raising his had, telling her to wait. The monster swung its tail at nagkaroon ng shock wave na dahila para mawalan ng balance sa pagkakatayo si Yohan. He grunted in surprise as it raised its tail and shoot several spikes again. He has no time to dodge it.

"Sh*t!" Mayu cursed and do a hand motion, "Thorns!" She said and homogunous thorns for a shield around Yohan, protecting him. She signed in relief ng mapansin nyang okay lang si Yohan at wala masyadong damage sa paligid nila. Sa ngayon.

Hinarap si Mayu ng Manticore, distracting it from Yohan. Mayu shoot thorns and try to hold onto the monster. She did but it use its poison tail para maputol ang mga thorns na pumulupot sakanya. "Tch!"

It gave Yohan enough time para makatayo ng maayos at makapagtago sa isa sa mga puno. He nodded at Mayu and mouthed 'Thanks' who nodded too and smile at him.

Mayu then remembered all the words na nakadownload kuno sa utak nya. Hindi na sya nagdalawang isip na sabihin pa ito. "Darque, use Glacies Shards!"-she ordered, hoping she pronounced it right. Darque nodded, during a fight, her contractor's words is law.

Darque raised her hand and summoned a small, black snow storm that danced around her palm. She then clapped her hands together and the ice splits into multiple spinning shards who surrounded Sakura and Darque. The spinning shards drilled around the monster which at some time, slowing down its movements.

Yohan raised his hand and shoot light beams towards them monster who somehow deflected it. Napa-Tss na lang sya.

The monster opened its mouth again to attack when it suddenly froze. Multiple marbles flew right into the monster, cutting right through it and leaving a trail like beam behind due to its intense speed. They flew towards Darque but a black barrier appeared, causing the marbles to burst.

Nanlaki naman ang mata ni Darque dahil dito. Agad syang pumunta kina Mayu at Yohan at pumunta sa harap nila na para bang pinoprotektahan sila. A boy stepped out in the shadows, his white hair glowed in the moonlight. He held up a marbel identical to the ones that killed the monster. He threw it casually in the air before catching it.

He had a glowing and bloody red eyes, has a very pale skin na para bang kay Darque. He was wearing a laced white shirt under a black jacket with a short balck trousers and a black and white stripped knee high socks and a platform lolita shoes. He was wearing a small top hat decorated with red ribbons.

The boy lifted his hat before looking at Darque and licking his lips. A sadistic grin plastered on his face. "Long time no see..."

Fact: A Manticore is a Persian legendary creature similar to the Egyptian sphinx. It has the body of a red lion, a human head with three rows of sharp teeth (like a shark), sometimes bat-like wings, and a trumpet-like voice. Other aspects of the creature vary from story to story. It may be horned, winged, or both. The tail is that of either a dragon or a scorpion, and it may shoot venomous spines to either paralyze or kill its victims. It devours its prey whole and leaves no clothes, bones, or possessions of the prey behind.
