Luckily, Draco is still good at masking his emotions, or he would be jumping with joy right now and yelling in everyone's face that he just kissed HARRY FREAKIN' POTTER.
But instead of doing that, he walks calmly through the hallways to the Slytherin dungeons.

'Where were you!?' Pansy squeaks when he walks into the common room.
Of course his absence hadn't gone unnoticed, he didn't tell Pansy and Blaise he was leaving today, because he wasn't able to make up a believable excuse.

'Just went out for a walk.' He replies shortly, knowing that Pansy will not let it go since he was gone for almost 7 hours.

'Drake, we were worried sick. Seriously dude, we thought you committed suicide or something.' Blaise puts in.

Draco knows that that is what Blaise and Pansy are scared for; that he will get enough of life and kills himself.
But Draco isn't a coward. He thinks he doesn't have the right to kill himself, he needs to live with the fact that he indirectly killed so much innocent people. He watched them die screaming by the crucio curse, and he did nothing. He just stood there, smiling, to please the dark lord.
And now he has to live with the fact that people like him, for one deed everyone could've done, while Draco would much rather have they would hate him, for doing nothing while he was the only one who could do something.

'Sorry.' He replies and softens his expression, secretly thankful for having such good friends.

'You'd better be.' Pansy says.
'How was your walk?'

'It was nice to be outside for a change, I needed to set my mind off some things and be out of the damn castle for a few hours.' Draco says, the more details, the more believable your lie is, his father had taught him.

'Oh drakie!' Pansy says and hugs him tightly. Pansy knows how difficult he finds it to cope with everything sometimes.

When Pansy lets him go, they walk over to the cough, remembering they had a potions essay due tomorrow.
Draco sits down and feels his eyelids immediately getting heavy. The efforts of earlier that day are taking it's toll.
Draco yaws and rubs his eyes, but forces himself to stay awake, if he doesn't it will be the third time he doesn't turn in an essay this year, and the second month just started.

Pansy notices that her friend is exhausted, so he forces him to lie down, his head on her lap.
'Drakie, you need to get some sleep, seriously, I'll make that damned potions essay for you.' She offers, but Draco shakes his head stubbornly.
'I can do it, I just need to lie down for a minute.' He says and closes his eyes.
Of course he falls asleep, after getting tired by Pansy's calming strokes through is hair and the warmth off the fire, it is impossible not to.
