Nicos POV

Here we go again, another day of crying. I'm starting to get bored and tired of keeping up with her.

I started to hear the whines of the child through the baby monitor that used to be Minnie's. But before I could get up Alfie had sorted it out.

I feel like we've swapped personalities completely, I used to be the one obsessed and excited now I'm just sick of being woken up. Then Alfie has taken on the responsibilities

But today I'm going to try my best, Alfie's been off school a week now helping

It's time for me to step up.

So here we go 4:30am Emmy is crying and Alfie goes to get up but I stopped him.

"It's ok, I'm going." I quietly said and he gave me a small smile

I entered the pink dark nursery to find my daughter screaming in hunger, I picked her up and took a deal breath.

You can do this nico i kept saying to myself

"Shh" I bounced her gently and rocked her until she calmed down.

Things have been getting harder, my mum and Ben have gone away so Alfie has done his best to help now I just need to try my hardest.

The little girl finally stopped crying and flashed her blue eyes at me, I walked her into the kitchen and made a bottle for her, once it was done I began to feed her.

"You seem to be getting the hang of it" Alfie crept up behind me and placed a hand on my shoulder and smiled at me.

"Yeah, I guess I have" my eyes met my daughters and connected instantly

"I can take it from here, go back to bed you can go to school" I tell him

"You sure you'll be able to cope on your own?" He asked me

"Promise" I put the empty bottle down and rubbed Emmys back.

"I'm proud of you" he kissed me on the check and ran his thumb down Emmys.

He left to go back to bed and I took my daughter to her bedroom, I sat on the rocking chair and held her in my arms.

I began to sing genially to her as we rocked back and forth, a dew minuets later shed fallen asleep.

I felt the movements of a wriggling little girl on my chest, I opened my eyes to see Emmy sucking her thumb.

I looked at the time, Alfie must have left for school seeming as it was only 9am, but it wasn't the wriggling that had woken me up it was my phone.

I put the fast asleep baby into her cot and answered the phone,

"Hello?" I began to the unknown number

"Hello is this Nico Blake?" A male voice said down the phone

"Yes"

"Your boyfriend Alfie has been hit by a car and is in critical condition in hospital-" my heart stopped, this can't be happening

"I-I'll be right there" my heart dropped I couldn't breath, i picked up my baby and put her in the pram and ran to the hospital.

"Where's Alfie" I asked the woman at the reception in panic.

"I'm sorry mam but no minors in the hospital room" she said looking at the pram

"I'm sorry but I have no one to look after her and her dad has just been hit by a car! So.." I yelled at her

"Rules are rules" she rolled her eyes

I pulled out my phone and rang peri.

"Hey ni wassup" she laughed

"Get to the hospital now!"

Peri was there in no time I explained what happened and she too care of my daughter, I ran to his room and he was lay there.

Cuts and bruises, eyes shut.

My heart was now in my mouth I grabbed his hand and held it to my fave trying to fight back tears.

"Please pull through" I whispered
