Chapter 28

Alfie's PoV:

I was still on my knees, she stared at me in shock or was it disgust?

"Nico?" I gesture the box

"Alfie- were 16.." She says walking over, plan failed

"Your 16, I'm 17" I corrected her, she rolled her eyes.

"I don't mean straight away, I mean like in the future" I stood up of my knees embarrassed.

"Keep it as a promise ring promise me you'll marry me when your ready?"

"Ok I will" she smiled and kissed my lips, I slid the promise ring onto her finger.

She gazed at it, she was smiling. Not the reaction of proposing I wanted.

"Sorry I ruined the moment" she looked down at her feet and placed Emmy back now the pram,

"It ok, it was a stupid idea anyway"

"No Alfie you planned and thought into this so much and I ruined it" I opened my arms and she ran into them crying

"I'm-so-sorry!" She cried into my arms though the tears "I- ruined our last day"

"You haven't Nico"

Nicos PoV:

I'm engaged? Is that the right thing to say?ive never felt so bad the walk back to the hotel was just awkward..

"You hate me don't you?" I tell Alfie as I packed up the last bag.

"Nico.."

"You do"

"I love you Nico I'm just embarrassed!" He got off the bed and slammed the bathroom door shut making Emmy cry.

"Alfie! Now look what you've done!" I yell picking the crying baby up.

"Alfie the taxi is coming In 10 minuets hurry up!" I hadn't heard anything for at least 3 minuets

"Alf?" I opened the door to see a window open with ladders leading to the streets of New York.

I pull my phone out and began to ring him, he's only gone and left it here,

I quickly pulled my coat back on and push Emmys pram through the hotel, I ran back into the streets of New York, there's no way I'm leaving him behind every blond haired boy that passed me I'd grab him and realise it isn't him.

"Alfie?!" I yelled making people stare at me, I had 5 minuets until I had to leave for the airport and there's no sign of him.

I ran back to the park where he'd proposed and saw a teenager crying and drowning his sorrows.

"Alfie!" I run over to him and throw my arms around his neck. I let go and his eyes fail to meet mine.

"Look we have 4 minuets to get to the airport we need to go Alfie, I'm so sorry I embarrassed you I was shocked and thought we were too young! I love you I really do!" I gasp out of breath from running.

"It was a stupid idea though" he sighed looking over at Emmy and running a finger down her cheek.

"Alfie it wasn't it was sweet and thoughtful and I ruined it" I said looking at the ring and then at my watch, 2 minuets

"Alfie we really need to go!" I say beginning to walk away, Alfie got up and pushes the pram over.

"We ok then?" I ask running by his side, back to the hotel .

"Yeah I guess" he said we arrived back and I loaded Emmy into the taxi that was waiting outside and Alfie ran to get the bags.

We've done it thanks god on the plane and safely flying.  I had my head resting on Alfie's shoulder.

He looked down at me whilst I stared at Emmy, "you don't have to wear it if you don't want?" He smiled

"I want too" I kissed the sleeping daughter of mines head and rocked her, I looked out the window and took a last glimps of New York.

"See you again" I smiled "we'll be back" Alfie continued also looking out

"Really?" I smiled.

"When when Emmys old enough to remember well bring her to show her the place we got engaged-" he trailed off.

"She'd love that.."

It was now 12 in the afternoon and we'd just gotten home, it was such a long flight.

"Welcome back guys! How was it?" My mum saw us coming and ran over.

I could now tell she was pregnant, she was quiet noticeable.

"It was amazing" I hugged her and held out my hand.

"No way! Congratulations you two" she smiled and took my hand and gazed at it.

"It was a long day yesterday, we're going to get some sleep" I said looking at Alfie

"Yeah of course you will be, want me to look after the little one?" She smiled again looking over at Emmy

"Yeah please" I said rubbing my eyes she took the baby off me.

"I've missed you, you have grown a little in a week" she talked to her and walked away.

I fell asleep on Alfie's chest, after the most amazing week of my life
