Time; Don't Let It Slip Away

I rolled out of bed, groggy and tired. I shuffled into the kitchen, and made myself a large cup of tea; Chamomile, with honey, and lemon. Always my favorite. I sat down at the kitchen table, and flipped open my lyric book. I scribbled down some words, and then crossed them out. This happened several more times before I gave up.
"Ugghhhh." I groaned, and slammed the pen down on the table, and threw the notebook off the table. I was too frustrated to even think about writing lyrics.
I've been working too hard and too long, trying to get this next album out, while I'm still on tour.

Oh yeah, In case you were wondering, it's me. Mia Lynn Parker, soon to be Mia Lynn Tyler. It's been almost a year, well 10 months, since I won American Idol, and I've already pumped out two albums, and I'm currently on tour. Don't worry, Steven and I are still together, and happily engaged.
A few months ago, Steven bought a gorgeous beach front home in Maui, and we plan to get married on the beach there, in a few months. Right now, we're back in our home in South Carolina, where we first met.

I gave up on dealing with lyrics for the morning, so I just put my head down on the table, and let out a groan of frustration.

"Well good morning, to you too." Steven chuckled as he walked into the kitchen.
I picked my head up and gave him a very exasperated look. "I guess someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." He said. He was being very witty this morning, and I was so frustrated, I didn't want to smile or laugh, but I couldn't help it. He was just so cute.

"Don't make me smile, I'm frustrated." I tried to keep a serious face.

"Spill, baby cakes." He sat down next to me at the table, with a cup of coffee.

"Everything. I just- I have such writers block, and I need three more songs to finish this album, and I still have to finish this tour, and UGGHHHH." I moaned, sitting back in my seat, and leaning my head back so I was staring at the ceiling. "I can't do this whole music thing. It fucking sucks." I just realized what I said, and instantly panicked.
"No I-.... I didn't mean it like that. I love having the opportunity to do what I'm doing, I'm so grateful, it's just..." I fumbled to find the right words.

"Don't worry, Love." He smiled, and took my hand, playing with my engagement ring. "I know what you meant. Sometimes I feel the same way, but then I realize why I'm doing it, and it helps me focus... Maybe you could write a song about not being able to write a song." He chuckled at his own humour.

"Ha Ha, very funny." I rolled my eyes, and got up from the table, bringing my tea with me. I walked back upstairs, and into the bathroom.
I slipped out of my shorts, and took off my tank top, and slipped into the shower.
When I was done washing up for the day, I decided I needed to get out for a little bit, maybe do a little shopping.
I put on a pair of frayed denim high-rise shorts, and that Aerosmith t-shirt that Steven threw into the crowd at me, at my first Aerosmith concert, which hung off my shoulder a little bit. I put my long wavy blonde hair into a big messy bun, and put on a little bit of mascara. I slipped on my red keds, grabbed my car keys, and walked down the stairs.

"Bye, Babe." I called to Steven, "I'll be back later."

"Wait, Baby. Where are you going?" He sounded worried, so I walked back into the kitchen where he still was.

"I'm going to the mall for a bit of cheap shopping." I sighed

"You've got enough money to buy a new bugatti, and you're still shopping at the mall." He chuckled

"Yes, Babe. Some of us, don't spend exhorbidant amounts of cash, just because we can." I smirked. "Anyway, I wanted to see if Mary's still working at Pacsun. I'll be back soon. I love you." I turned and started to walk towards the door, when Steven caught my hand and spun me around, right into his chest.

"I love you too, Mia." He said, and kissed me passionately. I've been with him for almost 2 and a half years, and he still takes my breath away with every kiss. I smiled as we pulled back. "Now go have fun." he whispered.
I grinned and walked out the door, while slipping my aviators over my eyes. I hopped into my candy white Audi r8 Spyder, Gunner, and drove to the mall.

I noticed Mary behind the counter, so I snuck up behind her.

"Excuse me, miss, do you know where I can get a good cup of coffe around here?" I grinned.

"Yeah, there's a starbu-" She paused, and turned around "MIA! OH MY GOD HOW HAVE YOU BEEN?!" She leaped into my arms, freaking out. I squeezed her tightly

"I miss you so much, Mary! How has the shop been without me?" I asked

"Oh, you mean, since you left us to become rich and famous?" She smirked "It's been pretty well. We just got new shipments of Brandy Melville stuff in, and that's selling pretty well... soo."

"Well that's good." I smiled

"But tell me How are things with you? I heard your first two albums, and they're genius. I love it. And that new song you did with Steven, what's it called? Uh... Can't Stop Wanting You?"

"Can't Stop Loving You." I corrected her

"It's so cute! Here, you know what, let me take my break right now, and we can go get some coffee or something." She smiled, and clocked her self out.
We strolled over to the Starbucks and sat down in our corner table, just like we did almost two years ago.

"So tell me," Mary began, "What's life like as a big rock star?" She grinned

"It's everything I've ever wanted. I'm honestly so happy." I smiled, and then sighed, as my smile faded.

"What's wrong, my love?" She asked

"Oh, nothing. I'm just under a lot of stress, that's all. I've got to write three more songs to finish this album, and I'm still on tour, and It's just too much. I need a break." I sighed

"You need a permanent vacation." She stiffled a laugh, and then couldn't help it. She burst into laughter, thinking her joke was just that funny.

"And, you still laugh at your own jokes." I chuckled. "I'll hand it to you, that was a good one, though."

"Yeah, well seriously, take a break. I mean, when's your next show? Cancel it, and then reschedule." She nodded.

"My next show is tonight.." I said, looking at my gold watch, that Steven got me for Christmas.

"Wow, I guess it's too late to cancel.." She sighed

"Yeah..." I paused. "Hey! Would you wanna come? I can bring you back stage and everything." I grinned

"Mia, oh my god, really?" She seemed astonished

"Yeah, why not? You're still an awesome friend, why wouldn't I?" I smiled. "Oh, and you can bring the Mister, If you want." I winked.

"That's awesome, thank you so much!" She grinned, and got up from her chair, hugging me tightly. "Listen, I gotta go, my break's almost up, but it was wonderful talking to you. You should come back and spend your loads of money, and help out the store." She joked.

"Of course, that's why I came here, other than to see your beautiful face, of course." I giggled.

I spent the next hour shopping around, and buying most of the new Brandy collection, as well as a few other boho looking items I just adored. I was stopped multiple times by fans, asking for pictures and autographs, but of course, I didn't mind.
I didn't understand how Steven wouldn't get annoyed whenever we were stopped almost two years ago, but now I get it. I have so much gratitude, love, and respect towards my fans. They're my all, and the reason why I'm famous in the first place, so I owe it to them.
Of course I helped out the store and spent almost $500 on everything I bought. I hugged Mary goodbye, and gave her my address, and the time she should come over so we could leave for the concert.

I walked out of the store with my multiple shopping bags, and headed out to my car.
I was stopped a few more times for pictures and autographs, and then finally made it to my car.

When I got home, I put all of my clothes away, and then plopped on my bed, and somehow, fell asleep.
