I woke up in an empty bed, in a room I didn't recognize as my own. I was scared and confused for a moment, until I remember that I stayed in a hotel room last night. I looked around the room for a moment, and laid eyes on a clock, which read May 16th, 2013, 9:35 a.m.
I put my head back to the pillow, until a shiver ran down my spine. My eyes instantly opened, wide.
"HOLY SHIT IT'S MY WEDDING DAY." I almost yelled. I scrambled out of bed, and into the bathroom of the hotel room. I took quick shower, washing my hair, and scrubbing myself raw. I took my time shaving though, I wanted everything to be perfect.
When I got out of the shower, I wrapped a towel around myself, and went back into the bedroom, to rumage through the bag I packed.
I dressed in a simple pair of shorts, and a band tee. I put my hair up into a big bun, and walked out into the kitchen area of the hotel room.
As soon as I did, my phone rang. I looked at the caller I.D, and it was a blocked number, which I found odd, but I picked it up anyway.
"Hello?" I answered
"Hi, Mia." It was a familiar voice, but I couldn't quite recognize it. Something about it sent shivers up my spine though.
"Who is this?" I asked, warily.
"Oh.. Uh... Don't freak out?" The voice answered.
"I won't if you just tell me who this is.." I was getting worried.
"It's, uh... It's Kyle." He paused. I stopped, and my heart rate shot through the roof. "I got one call to make, and yes I'm still in prison, so no need to freak out. I h-"
"How did you get my number?" I cut him off.
"Memory is a funny thing, Mia." He sighed. "Look... I've got like, 2 minutes left in this phone call, and I don't want to hold you up any longer. I heard it's your wedding day, from Jason. I just wanted to call you and congratulate you, and I hope he makes you very happy. I bet you'll look beautiful."
"Oh... I......" I paused. "Thank you."
"Goodbye, Mia." I heard him smile through the phone, then the line went dead.
I sat down on the couch, trying to mull over the conversation I just had. How... What? I don't even understand. My phone rang again, and this time, the caller I.D showed a number I recognized.
"Hi, Lauren." I answered.
"I'm coming to get you soon so we can get you ready for your big day!" She squealed into the phone.
"Oh. Okay. Thanks" I muttered, still in shock.
"Well don't sound too excited." She huffed, and hung up.
About 10 minutes later, there was a knock at the door. I got up and opened it to Lauren and Beth jumping into my arms, squealing and giggling.
I walked into the bedroom, without a word, and packed up my things.
After we checked me out of the hotel, we got into my Beetle and drove to the hair salon. I sat in the passengers seat, looking out the window, while Lauren was driving, and Beth was in the backseat, taking a nap.
"Hey..." Lauren glanced over at me. "If this is a nervousness thing, It'll go away. I mean, you love Steven and Steven loves you. You don't have to be scared." She said, trying to comfort me.
"What do you mean?" I nonchallantly responded, trying to shake off any hint that I was upset about something.
"Mia, Don't play stupid. I know you better than that." She sighed "What's wrong. Are you nervous, worried, anxious? What is it?"
