I stepped back from the microphone as I belted out the last line of Arizona.
The crowd errupted into screams and cheers, and I grinned at their reaction.
I took the mic off of it's stand, and walked over to the edge of the stage, my heels clicking on the hard surface with each step. I sat down on the edge of the stage, my feet dangling off of it.
"Hey, Hawaii." I giggled into the mic, and the screams grew louder. They quieted down slightly as I began to speak into the microphone. "So.. This crazy thing is gonna happen in a few days." I paused, noticing a video camera filming this. I realized the camera was set up to project the image onto the large screen on the back of the stage. I put my hand to it, so I could show off my engagement ring.
"You see this bad boy, right here?" I said, making sure the ring could be seen on the screen. "In a few days I'm not gonna be Mia Lynn Parker anymore." I blushed and the crowd errupted once again.
"It's weird to say it, but I'm gonna be Mia Lynn Tyler soon enough. Weird in a good way of course." I paused and blushed. "I mean, I've been saying Parker all my life, and now I'm gonna have to start saying Tyler. I'm excited though" I giggled into the mic.
"You know..." I started as I stared out to the audience before me. "Have any of you ever been on a date so... so wild... so perfect, that you know you'll remember it for the rest of your life?" The audience roared and cheered. I got up and walked over to the dum set, where my Martin acoustic was resting on a stand. I picked it up, and placed the strap across my body. I put the microphone back on the stand. "Well... I have..." I said, as I began to strum the chords for my new song; 6 Months.
"You're the direction I follow to get home
When I feel like I can't go on, you tell me to go
And it's like I can't feel a thing without you around
And don't mind me, if I get weak in the knees
Cause you have that effect on me, you do.
Everything you say,
Every time we kiss, I can't think straight.
But I'm okay.
And I can't think of anybody else
Who I'd hate to miss, as much as I hate missing you."
Steven strolled out onto the stage, and took a seat on a stool which was a few feet away from me.
He grinned at me wildly as I began the second chorus. I turned and noticed he was on the stage, and began to sing directly to him.
"Months going strong now, and no good-bye
Unconditional, unoriginal
Always by my side
Meant to be together
Meant for no one but each other
You love me, I love you harder so...
Everything you say,
Every time we kiss, I can't think straight.
But I'm okay.
And I can't think of anybody else
Who I'd hate to miss, as much as I hate missing you."
Steven spun me around and pulled me onto his lap, as I continued to strum the guitar and sing. The crowd went wild at the sight of this.
"So please, give me your hands
So please, give me a lesson on how to steal,
Steal a heart,
As fast as you stole mine, as you stole mine.
Ohh and everything you say,
Every time we kiss, I can't think straight.
But I'm okay.
And I can't think of anybody else
Who I'd hate to miss, as much as I hate missing you."
I stummed a little lighter, so the notes could fade out as I sang the last few lines.
"So please, give me your hand
So please, just take my hand."
Steven smiled as I held the last note. He cut me off by kissing me passionately in front of the audience, as they cheered loudly.
I grinned and spoke into the mic again.
"I love those rude interruptions." I smiled and kissed him again.
