I woke up the the sound of my phone ringing very loudly. Steven was still asleep on top of my tummy, and the news was still on. It must've been a re-run, because the story of my pregnancy was on, again.
I picked up the phone, and looked at the caller I.D
"Hello?" I answered in a very groggy voice.
"You didn't think to tell your best friend you're pregnant!?" Lauren screamed into the phone. I could tell she wasn't mad... Just alarmed.
"Well... Steven and I were just figuring out what to do.. I mean.. I'm only... I think 2 or 3 months." I stretched a little, forgetting that Steven was asleep on me. He russled around a little bit, and then woke up, smiling at me.
"Goodmorning, beautiful." he mouthed, and grinned. I smiled and blew him a kiss.
"But you couldn't think to talk to me about it first?" She asked, obviously upset.
"Listen, babygirl. I didn't even tell Steven until a month ago. I didn't know what to do with myself, okay?" I sighed. "Please don't be upset with me."
"I'm not upset with you, I'm just upset that I found out from a news broadcast, instead of from my best friend." She huffed.
"I'm sorry, I really am. You know what... Why don't you and Joe come over for a bit. We'll have dinner and everything." I suggested.
"Fine." She sighed, but I could tell she had a smile on her face.
We hung up, and a moment later, my phone rang again, but this time I didn't recognize the caller I.D, which always worried me.
"H-hello...?" I answered warily. Steven gave me a funny look, hinting that he knew what was wrong.
"You're pregnant?" The voice was familiar.
"Who is this?" I asked, with more of a stern voice this time.
"Mia, come on. You know who this is.. I'm using my one call a month on you. But seriously.... You're pregnant?!" Kyle asked into the phone, sounding exasperated, and angry. Very, very angry, which always worried me.
"You said you'd never call me again.." I said. "And yes, I am, but that's none of your concern. I'm going to change my number if you call me one more time. I highly doubt the cops gave you permission to call me this time either. Stick to your restraining order." I huffed, and then hung up.
"Is wasn't...." He paused. "Was it?"
I nodded.
"I'm going to kill him." He said, getting angry.
"Baby... Don't worry. He's in jail, and I'm going to call the cops, and tell them he's been calling me and that it's against the restraining order. They'll understand." I smiled, and kissed him. "Now... let's get up and get ready. Lauren and Joe will be here soon, for dinner." I said, playfully pushing him off of me, so I could get up to go shower.
"Your chariot awaits you, my gypsy queen." He giggled and bent his back over, so I could climb on.
I gave me a piggy back ride all the way up to our grandiose bathroom, and helped me strip off my clothes. We took a hot shower together, and then got ready for dinner.
I put on a pair of jeans and a loose band tee, while I let my long hair dry naturally, and get these beautiful beach waves, almost like the way it looked at my wedding.
"You're so beautiful, I don't even know what to say or do with myself around you." Steven kissed my shoulder and wrapped his arms around my waist, feeling my belly, as I looked at myself in the floor length mirror. I spun around in his arms, so I could face him, and kissed him wildly.
