"Mia, honey, you'll never guess what I got…" My dad grinned down at me, while I was sitting on the couch with Steven; Alaska in his arms and Pike curled up on the couch next to me.
"Oh no…" I chuckled, rolling my eyes. "What?"
With a devious, child-like grin, my father lifted his arms from behind his back and fanned out 4 ticket stubs, decorated with red and silver.
"Remember how the company I work for gives these little babies to me?" He asked, staring at the 4 V.I.P New Jersey Devils tickets in his hands."No way!" I bounced up from my seat, crushing my dad in a huge hug. "Oh my god I haven't been to a game in years! I thought the season didn't start until October! Are they still the same tickets you always got?"
"Yep… Right next to the Devils bench, 1st row from the ice." He laughed, obviously excited. "And well yeah, but tonight's the pre-season opener."
"Oh my god! Dad! When are they for?" I took a ticket from his hand and peered down at it. "Tonight?"
"Yep." He grinned as his blue-green eyes twinkled with nostalgic delight. "Just like the good old days, mama Mia."
"Oh my god, I'm so excited!" I laughed, thanking him a million more times. "When do we have to leave? Do we still have to be there early for the buffet?"
"Have we ever done anything different?" He laughed, peerig over at Steven. "You wanna come, Steven?"
Smiling, my gorgeous husband stood up and immediately came to my side.
"Sure, I'm not really a huge hockey fan, but thanks." He huckled down at me nervously, knowing how much I love the sport. "Who are they playing anyway."I showed him the tickets, reading it aloud to him.
"The L.A kings."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I slipped on a light pair of black leggings, and a black tank-top.
Of course, my black-combat boots were adorned, topping off the outfit, as my make-up that thick and smoked out, and my hair was pin straight, falling down around my waist.I was almost ready to go, checking any final touches in the mirror when Steven came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist, making me smile.
"You look like you're going on a secret mission, Agent Tyler." He laughed, kissing my neck lightly.
"And you look like yo-" I spun in his arms, checking out his outfit. "Ew… You're a Kings fan?"
I asked, peering down at his black t-shirt, adorning the L.A Kings signature crown emblem, which just covered the waist band of his black jeans."You're not?" He mocked, stroking a finger down my cheek.
With a devilish grin, I stepped away from him and over towards my closet, rummaging through for a few moments.
Finally, I pulled out my old Devil's Jersey. signed by none other than Marty Brodeur himself.
I slipped it on over my outfit, letting it hang off of me like a loose dress."Oh, see Mia, that's not right." He rolled his eyes playfully. "You live in L.A, and you're rooting for New Jersey…"
"I may live in L.A, but I'm Jersey bawn n' raised, Mr. Tylah…" I giggled, whipping out my hidden Joi-zey accent.
"Oh, shut up, Mrs. Tylah." He giggled, mocking my accent. With a swift tug on my jersey, I was in Steven's arms, and his lips were glued to mine.
I giggled between each kiss, savoring his taste."Mia… You guys ready?!" My dad called from down stairs. "Your mother and I are waiting! We need to get to the buffet!"
"Coming!" I squealed back, leaning my forehead against Stevens. "We'll continue this later… Don't think you won this time, Mr. Tyler."
