~.: Impulse's PoV :.~

I sighed as I rested my head in my left palm while I spaced out. Nightwing and Red Hood were fighting in the other room, Zaria had apparently just quit the team. What else could go wrong...I thought being on this team was supposed to be fun...I thought exasperatedly. Suddenly the zeta tubes announced the arrival of The Flash.

I jumped to my feet and dashed over to the entrance as Flash materialized in the tubes with a girl behind him. I cocked my head curiously, looking past Barry to get a good look at the newbie.

"Did you bring a new team mate?" I asked him as he typed something into the holo-computer. The girl walked past Barry to look around at everything around her. I watched her, feeling like I knew her from somewhere.

Flash finished typing and turned around as the girl walked back over to him, standing close to his side.

"Yeah, actually she's supposed to be Wally's protégé...." he trails off, "Where is Wally anyway..?" He asked me. The girl looked over at me shyly and as our gazes met I was pulled into a faint memory that I was sure had long faded away into the depths of my mind. 

//FLASH BACK//

I ran past the officers into the burning building despite their protests. I'm not going to let you die! I thought frantically as I ran up the stairs to the floor that was supposedly vacant. From one of the rooms I heard a panicked screech just as the rafters began to crumble in around me. I recognized that scream...

"Delilah?!" I called out. A muffled scream answered my call and I darted toward the source. I found myself in a smoldering apartment room. A girl crouched under some debris caught sight of me in the doorway through the smoke and ash and she let out a strangled cry as more debris rained down on her.

I spotted her and my eyes widened, recognizing her automatically. 

"Delilah! It's ok! I'm going to get you out of here!" I reassured her, stumbling over to her through the charred remains of the coffee table nearby. She can only cough on the smoke in reply as more ceiling rains down on top of both of us. I lost sight of her and my heart skipped a beat as I cried out in anguish.

//END OF FLASHBACK//

"Dart..?" I breathed, slightly mystified as I stepped closer to the girl. She narrows her eyes cautiously at me and Barry raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah...that's her name. You know her from somewhere,  Bart?" Barry inquired of me as I shake myself out of my thoughts.

I swallowed and shook my head, "Uh, n-no, I meant that Wally darted off to his room because Nightwing was yelling at him," I quickly explained to Flash, my face burning shyly.

I can't let the girl find out that I know her from the future...if she found out I'd end up crashing the mode...Even IF I loved her..

Barry nodded slowly, still not entirely convinced then went to go find Kid Flash. The girl looked over at me just as Deanna walked in with Aria.

"Hey, Bart! Who's the new girl?" Deanna chirped cheerfully as Aria looked at Dart curiously.

"My name is Dart," the girl replied, looking a bit shy as she met my gaze again.

"She's Wally's new protégé, " I told them as I rubbed the back of my neck nervously. Deanna smirked and walked over to Dart.

"Nice to meet you, Dart! I'm Nightwish-"

"A newbie?" 

Deanna and I looked up as Nightwing walked into the room.

"We weren't expecting any new recruits today," Nightwing curiously noted, "But it's nice to see a new face,I guess. I'm Nightwing, leader of this team." Dick smirks softly. Dart nods shyly as Aria pushes past her older brother.

"My name is Aria," she said, "I'm Wally's girlfriend,"

Nightwing rolled his eyes but didn't say anything as Dart smiled softly. My heart raced at the sight of her smiling. 

"I heard my name? Also what's up with Jason? He stormed out of the Hideout and- oh hey! You must be Delilah!" Wally walks in and sees hiS protégé standing amongst us.

Dart's  face flushes as she nods. Wally grins and walks over to her.

"I'm Wally or Kid Flash, it's not usually this loud here," he explained to her. She shyly smiles up at him and then they walk out of the main room to begin training. I follow them to watch as Deanna kisses Nightwing while Aria goes to find Mckenzie and McKayla.

What a day....I thought quietly.
