Chapter 16
Lany arrived at the nightclub. She was in the company of her brother and her friend Helena. The three of them moved across the club and found an unoccupied table.
Lany kept her eyes open, looking at the people there in the hope of finding one special person that she wanted to see. She could not see him anywhere, however, and her heart dropped.
"Won't your friends come here?" Lany asked her brother in order to know about Antony's whereabouts.
"I believe they'll come," Nelio said.
"I'm going to the toilet," she said, standing up leaving her friend alone with her brother.

When Lany came out of the bathroom, she looked toward the table where her brother was still sitting in the company of her friend Helena. She also witnessed the arrival of three of her brother's friends. The three boys walked to the table where Nelio was sitting.
"He did not come," Lany said to herself, seeing that Antony was not with them.
She took her seat at the table and greeted the three boys.
A soft melody came over the room.
"Nelio, why don't you invite Helena to dance?" Lany questioned her brother.
"Lany!" Helena mumbled between her teeth and her cheeks were red.
"Do you want to dance, Helena?" Nelio asked her.
"Yes, of course she wants to dance," Lany said hurriedly as she pulled her friend's arm and made her stand up from her chair.
Nelio and Helena walked to the dance floor, where they danced together, in the same mood of the song.
Lany and the three boys remained seated at the table; all of them were looking at people dancing.
"Can you tell me why Antony did not come tonight?" Lany asked indiscreetly.
"He is repairing a car. But he said that maybe he will come here later tonight, " a dark-haired boy said.

Nelio had left Helena at her home, and when he returned he saw his sister walking through the living room in the dark.
He got a bit of a fright as he had imagined she was already asleep.
"What are you doing awake?" he asked.
"I want to know what happened between you and Helena," she said, curious.
"You want to know too much," he mumbled and threw his car keys on the small table in the living room.
"Did you kiss her?" She asked with excitement.
"Nothing happened between us. I just took her home," he explained and his answer seemed sincere.
"I do not believe it! Didn't you kiss her?"
"No, it is evident she is very timid!"
"She hoped that you would kiss her," Lany confessed.
"Lany, go to your bed and leave me alone!" He said irritated.
"I thought you would be smarter with women!" She alleged and then she walked in the direction of her bedroom.
