Chapter 8

Antony was in his garage, lying on his bed and listening to a serene melody from the U2 band.

It was already night and he lived in his garage. He began living there in an attempt to save money and reduce his spending.

He was relaxing at home, in his leisure, shirtless, only in shorts and slippers.

He heard a noise at the door and then he got up and walked to the passage. Opening it, he saw who it was.

Antony deduced that this could be one of his friends. He got confused after he really saw who it was.

"You!" he frowned. "What are you doing here?" He asked surprised, looking at her face.

"I was going to Helena's house, and then there was a blackout. There are no electric lights and the street was completely dark. I got scared and remembered that the closest, safest place... would be here," Lany explained to him.

"Funny, there is no lack of electricity here," he commented, suspicious and arched an eyebrow.

"It is strange!" She said embarrassed and glanced down.

"Come in!" He said courteously.

She walked in slowly and her eyes were fixed on the dark wall. After that she glanced to the side in silence.

"How is it living alone?" She asked, curious and gazed into his face.

"It is good and bad at the same time," he answered, closing the door again behind him.

"Where is your family?" Lany asked back.

"I don't want to talk about my family," he said and looked at the ground as if that subject troubled him.

"Excuse me!" She said in a low voice. "I didn't mean to pry."

"Do you want a soft drink?' He asked and his voice was lively as he looked away, observing the disorder in his domicile. But he thougth Lany should comprehend he lived alone and he had no time to organize his residence.

"Oh, yeah, I do," she answered smiling elegantly at him. Their gaze met for some time.

"Come on!" He led her to an old sofa.

While he was picking up the drink, she looked around and she wondered how he could live in that environment without any comfort.

"Are you in the habit of bringing many women here?" Lany questioned glancing at the entire room.

"What is the reason for this question?" He asked while he brought the soda and handed it to her. His eyes ran discretely on her sweet face.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked this," she said and lowered her head, embarrassed at her own request.

"Since you asked me this, I will answer this honestly," He had sat facing her. "When I want to, I bring women here."

His eyes examined hers.

"And what do they think of this?" she asked stunned.

"They love it... they think that this place is exotic." He explained and opened his arms into the ar.

"There are tastes for everything!" Her shoulders shook. She said and drank her soda.

"You are very curious!" he commented and smiled to the ground, Lany remained observing his timid smile, She felt something strange. Her heart looked disturbing within her.

"Everyone says this!" in a little while she stared at him "My brother says that the curiosity killed the cat."

"And it also gave seven lives to the cat," he joked, gazing back at her face.
