January, 2005
Hector, being a farmer, had managed to bring up his two children, Nelio and Lany. Nelio was older than his sister by only two years, a short gap in their age difference. No longer children they were twenty-five and twenty-three respectively.
The farmer's family lived in a rural town. The capital city was a two hour drive.
Lany, since childhood, was very dreamy. She always wanted to live in the big city and have a lot of money; she always hated her standard of living, always aspiring to something more.
Lany and her brother, Nelio had never had an easy time of it. Things always seemed to be difficult. Their mother was a homemaker and their father earned little money barely keeping food on the table.
