New challenge (Part 31)

Hannah woke up. She could tell by the lack of daylight that it was too early for her to actually be awake. A quick glance at the clock confirmed her suspicions. 4.20AM.
She softly cursed herself and turned on her side.
The blonde could just make out Grace's features in the darkness. She looked so peaceful asleep. It made Hannah smile. And then frown.
Grace was asleep next to her. If Grace was next to her, then where the hell was Alex?
Hannah turned on her other side, but Alex wasn't in their bed.
No way she'd still be... Was she?
Quietly, Hannah slipped out of bed. She snuck through the hallway and carefully popped her head inside Alex's room.
The sight melted her heart.
The little girl was asleep, mr. Bun-Bun clutched in her arms. She was sleeping, in her own bed. No trashing, no whimpers, just her baby girl fast asleep.
Hannah watched her for a bit, just to be sure everything was fine, before tiptoeing back into the bedroom she shared with Grace.
She slipped under the covers, letting out a breath of relief that she hadn't woken anyone up.
"Where'd you go?" Grace groaned, her voice heavy with sleep.
Hannah sighed, her victory was celebrated too soon.
"I checked up on Alex. She's sleeping in her own bed."
"Good." Grace mumbled, shuffling closer to Hannah.
"Yeah, I'm so proud of her!" the blonde smiled, "Maybe we should buy her a present? Positive reinforcement?"
Grace groaned, "Too early. Just cuddle me."
"Of course!" Hannah eagerly opened her arms for Grace, sighing happily when she felt the weight of her girlfriend pressed up against her.
Grace's hand slipped under her shirt, her fingers softly dancing over the skin of Hannah's tummy.
Grace hummed contentedly, letting her eyes fall shut.
"Are you happy Grace?" Hannah wondered.
"Baby, it's too early. I wanna sleep." Grace whined, "But yeah. Me. Happy. Now shush."
Hannah smiled at how adorable Sleepy Grace was. Silently, she relished in the warmth their bodies had created. Grace was almost back asleep when Hannah broke the silence again.
"Do you have anywhere to be tomorrow? Well, today actually?"
"No Hannah, it's Saturday!" Grace grumbled annoyed, "Baby, this is the first time we get to cuddle without a child squished between us. Please, shut up and enjoy?"
"You're right, you're right. I'm sorry." Hannah smiled, squeezing Grace a bit tighter, "This is nice isn't it? Just us two, together, enjoying the..."
"Babe if you don't shut up now, you're sleeping next to Goose tomorrow." The taller woman warned.
"Okay, okay, I'm quiet." Hannah mumbled, "Oh! Speaking of Goose, we're almost out of dog food."
"Hannah!" Grace clasped a hand over the younger woman's mouth, "Please, shut your beautiful, beautiful face."
Hannah grinned, then chuckled before bursting into laughter.
"What now?" Grace asked, only half annoyed at her girlfriend.
"You just..." Hannah laughed, "You just quoted Camp Takota at me!"
Grace furrowed her brow, "Did not."
"Did too, Elise." Hannah mocked, "That's what Maxine says to Chet! 'Shut your beautiful face!'"
"Oh..." Grace realized before grinning too, "Shut up idiot."
"I'm your idiot." Hannah grinned.
Grace rolled her eyes, "And you're so goddamn cheesy too. Now let me sleep."
"Yes dear." Hannah teased, pressing a soft kiss to the top of Grace's head.
