First days, giggles and pizza
Grace wasn't used to that stupid alarm waking her up anymore. Most mornings it would be an excited child bouncing on the bed, or 'quietly' checking if she was up yet, to rouse her from slumber.
The kitchen was uncharacteristically silent. Hannah stood behind the stove, frowning at the pancakes she was cooking, and Alex just looked at her mommy with great concern.
"Goodmorning sweethearts." Grace muttered sleepily, making her way to the coffee, only stopping to kiss Alex on the head.
Mug in one hand, she wrapped the other around Hannah kissing the back of her neck.
"Goodmorning." Hannah mumbled.
Grace tried not to grin at the forlorn expression on her love's face, "What did those pancakes do to you?"
"Grace," Hannah pouted, "It's not funny."
"Yes it is!" Grace smiled, "You both look like we're sending her to prison or something! It's just kindergarten. She'll have fun!"
"Don't wanna." Alex pouted.
"But you have to." Grace replied, putting her coffee down and lifting the girl up, "You're gonna go to school, and you're gonna learn soooo many cool things!"
"Why?"
"So that you'll get as smart as mommy one day." Grace said cheerfully, kissing the tip of Alex's nose.
"Ewww! Mama!" Alex complained, rubbing at her nose.
Hannah cracked a smile at the adorableness happening in front of her.
"Come on cuties, pancakes are ready." She put two plates on the table.
Grace frowned, "Aren't you eating?"
"Too nervous." The blonde mumbled, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Oh sweetheart," Grace sighed. She grabbed Hannah's hand, and pulled the younger woman on her lap.
"It's gonna be fine." Grace whispered in Hannah's ear. Alex was already too busy with her pancakes to listen to their conversation.
"You don't know that." Hannah whispered back.
"Babe, even if it's not fine, what's the worst that could happen?" Grace said, feeding Hannah a bit of pancake, "There's teachers everywhere. It really is going to be okay."
Hannah grunted, accepting another piece of pancake before it hit her.
"Are you feeding me?" She asked incredulously, a smile on her face.
"Well, yeah duh." Grace laughed, "What did you think I was going to do?"
"Hold me to ease my nerves!" Hannah was laughing too now, "You are a deceptive woman Helbig!"

Hannah made sure Alex was safely buckled into her Prius and shut the door. Grace tried to squeeze pass her to get to the door on the passenger's side, but Hannah put her hand on the brunette's arm to stop her.
"Grace, I don't think I can..." Hannah bit her lip, unsure, "Could you drive? Please?"
Grace smiled gently hearing the nerves in Hannah's voice, "Of course babe." She placed a chaste kiss on Hannah's lips and got behind the wheel.
The blonde's leg kept bouncing up and down the entire drive. The nerves had come back with a vengeance.
"Are you sure you packed her lunchbox?" Hannah asked again.
"God Hannah! Yes, I did." Grace groaned, "Now could you please stop? You're making everybody nervous for no good reason."
Hannah pouted a bit before focusing her attention on Alex in the back.
Grace thanked every deity she knew for the short drive when she pulled up at the school. If it had lasted five more minutes, she would have kicked the blonde out of the car.
Hannah grabbed the girl's pink My Little Pony backpack, a gift from Auntie Ty, while Grace helped Alex out of the car.
"Everything will be fine." Grace repeated for the umpteenth time that morning. Though this time she didn't know who she was trying to reassure. With each step she took, her heart almost physically hurt.
"Let's do this." Hannah muttered.
With mommy on one hand and mama on the other, little Alex walked through the schoolgates.
****
"And she doesn't like it when you touch her." Grace reminded the teacher. Hannah stayed silent, amused by Grace's sudden concern. Bless the teacher for smiling and nodding as Grace babbled on about all the things Alex needed.
"You have to make sure she eats her lunch, not just her banana." Grace said, "She gets lunchbreak right?"
"Grace, that's enough." Hannah laughed, pulling her away from the teacher. Even Alex had to giggle at Grace's behavior, "Silly mama."
"Okay, okay." Grace took a deep breath to calm herself, "Okay."
"It's time to say goodbye now." Alex's teacher told them gently.
Grace and Hannah knelt down before their little girl.
"Have fun sweetie." Hannah smiled, though she felt like she could burst into tears any second now.
"And be good to your teacher." Grace said.
Alex nodded, but she was pouting.
"Hey baby, none of that," Hannah said, "You'll have so much fun that you won't have time to miss us."
"And we'll be right here when school's out." Grace reminded her.
"Promise?" Alex whispered.
"Pinky promise."
"Bye sweetie" Hannah whispered, hugging the girl.
Grace was next, "Bye baby."
"Bye mommy! Bye mama!"
Hannah clutched Grace's hand as Alex disappeared behind her teacher.
"Han?" Grace whimpered.
Hannah whipped her head around and saw the tears in Grace's eyes, "Are you crying?"
"Shut up." Grace chuckled, wiping her at her eyes, "Just take me to the car."
****
Hannah slumped in the front seat, her fingers drumming on the steering wheel.
"It's already so quiet here." Hannah mumbled to Grace, "God, what am I going to do today?"
Grace giggled.
"Not funny Grace, I'm serious, I've got nothing to do." Hannah sighed.
"Well..." Grace drawled out, running her fingertips up the blonde's thigh, "I can think of something we could do"
The brunette gave her smile that Hannah had never seen before. It was absolutely wicked, and it made Hannah's tummy do somersaults.
She swallowed the sudden lump in her throat, "Are you sure?"
Grace bit her lip and nodded.

Mamrie knocked, once, twice. Odd. She'd texted Hannah earlier, but she'd gotten no reply, so she figured she'd just drop by. Hannah's car was in the driveway, and so was Grace's. She fished Hannah's spare key out of her purse, and unlocked the door.
Normally she wouldn't do this, but her newest YDAD-creation required Chambord, and the redhead knew that Hannah still had an unopened bottle. And the blonde hated Chambord, so why bother buying a new bottle, when she could just borrow Hannah's?
She walked in and nearly fell over a shoe that was decidedly not Hannah's. Mamrie grumbled a bit, before picking the shoe up and putting it back in its place.
A little further in the hallway she encountered Hannah's jacket, on the floor. The redhead frowned. Hannah was usually so particular about cleaning up after herself.
That's when Mamrie heard it. A giggle. That special kind of giggle, when you know you have never been this happy in your life before, and you just can't believe it. And, ewww, gross gross gross! That giggle came from Hannah's bedroom.
****
Grace sighed deeply when Hannah rolled off of her body, immediately missing the warmth.
"God that was..." Hannah panted, wiping the sweat of her brow.
"Yeah..." Grace agreed.
Hannah rolled on her side, watching Grace.
"You're so beautiful Gracie." She muttered, in awe by the brunette next to her.
Grace giggled, "You're such a sap."
"Maybe." Hannah smiled widely, "But I'm your sap. Right?"
"God yes." Grace pulled Hannah closer, and gave her a slow kiss.
Hannah pulled away slightly, eyes still closed, "Grace, I..." her voice broke off, not really daring to finish her sentence.
"Just say it Hannah." Grace whispered against her lips, "Please?"
Hannah smiled, "I love you."
Grace chuckled happily, "I love you too."
"You do?" Hannah asked, grinning brightly and pressing a kiss on Grace's lips.
Grace gladly accepted Hannah's affections, "Hmmm, I do."
"You love me." Hannah chuckled, pecking Grace's lips.
"I love you." Grace answered, feeling ridiculously happy.
Hannah didn't think Grace had ever looked more beautiful, completely naked, messy hair, and smiling at her. Of all people, Grace chose her.
"I love you." And she knew she'd never get tired of saying that.
****
"I'll be right back baby." Mamrie heard Hannah say, "I love you." Ugh! That giggle again.
Mamrie knew she should do something, move, hide, something, when she heard the small woman leave the bedroom.
"AAHHHH!" A very naked Hannah screamed when she saw Mamrie in her livingroom.
Mamrie screamed too, "Jesus fuck Hannah! Put some clothes on!!!"
Mamrie shut her eyes, turned around and covered her face with her hands just to be sure, giving Hannah a chance to find something to cover herself with.
"What is going on?" Grace asked when she ran into the room, "Oh my god, Mamrie!"
"What are you doing here?" Hannah demanded, Mamrie could easily see her anger was actually more embarrassment.
"I needed some liquor." Mamrie muttered, "And I definitely need some right now."
"Maaames." Hannah groaned, "You can't just barge in here! You nearly gave me a heart attack."
"I called both of you fuckers!" Mamrie smirked, "But you guys were obviously too busy..."
"Don't even finish that sentence!" Grace laughed, "Grab what you need, we'll get dressed, because lord knows I need liquor too now."
Mamrie poured them all some wine while Hannah and Grace retreated to the bedroom, and she swore she could hear more giggles. Disgusting.
Hannah, thank god fully dressed, plopped down on the couch, gladly accepting the glass of wine from Mamrie, "Grace is still, uh, fixing her hair."
"Okay..." Mamrie mumbled, "So... this is awkward huh?"
Hannah chuckled, "Yes, yes it is."
Grace joined them, and Hannah immediately opened her arms so Grace could snuggle up against her side.
Mamrie watched silently as the women shared a loving smile, Hannah's arm tightening around Grace as the tall girl snuggled closer.
"Ugh, you guys are disgustingly adorable." Mamrie groaned with a smirk.
Grace blushed a bit, but Hannah just smiled proudly.
"When are you picking up the little one?"
"Innnnn..." Hannah checked her watch, "Fuck, twenty minutes!"
The two women shot up of the couch, scurrying around like agitated ants.
"Fuck, we didn't prepared anything for dinner." Grace cursed.
"We'll go out," Hannah said, ushering Goose into the backyard, "Celebrating first day at school?"
"Good idea!" Grace yelled, throwing Hannah her shoes.
"Thanks babe!" Hannah shouted back, easily slipping into them, "Keys?"
"Got 'em!"
"Let's go then!"
The front door fell shut.
"Well," Mamrie chuckled amused, "I guess I'll let myself out."
****
Grace had a tight grip on Hannah's hand as they stood at the gates with all the other parents.
"I feel like an adult." Grace whispered to Hannah.
The blonde chuckled, "That's kinda what happens when you become a mom Grace."
Grace smiled, "That will never get old."
"Hmm? What?"
"Being a mom." Grace said, "It gives me this weird tingly feeling. Is that just me?"
"Nah," Hannah shook her head, "I feel that way too babe."
She gave Grace's hand a squeeze when the schoolbell finally rang.
"Mamaaaaaa! Mommyyyyy!" Alex shot out of the group of kids into Grace's arms.
"Hey baby," Grace cooed, kissing the top of the girl's head, "How was it?"
"Fun!" Alex smiled widely, and a weight fell of the two women's shoulders, "I learned colors!"
"Oh really?" Hannah asked, "What did you do with the colors?"
Alex started babbling excitedly about all the colors and the rainbow, and Grace smiled at Hannah.
"Sooooo," Hannah said, as she buckled Alex into her seat, "Do you think that we should celebrate your first schoolday?"
Alex grinned, "Yesssss!"
"Pizza?" Grace suggested, knowing it was the girl's favorite.
"Yessssssss!" Alex cheered.
"Well then mommy, drive us to the pizza!" Grace joked when Hannah got behind the wheel.
"To the pizza!"
