Grace was waiting at the schoolgate. For the first time, she was picking Alex up without Hannah and it was kinda nerve wrecking.
A bunch of moms had flocked together, talking about afterschool activities and other soccermom things that Grace never really cared about until now.
Maybe we should talk to Alex about having a hobby? Ballet would be cute.
Grace was deep in thoughts about Alex in an adorable pink tutu when the bell rang.
Alex, as always, was one of the first kids to rush out and Grace eagerly opened her arms for the little girl, preparing for impact.
"Mama mama mama mama mama!" Alex chanted as she hurled herself into her mama's arms.
"What what what what what?" Grace laughed, twirling Alex around.
Alex brought her face to Grace's ear and 'whispered', "I made a friend."
Grace mouth fell open. She never knew that it was possible to feel so much joy and excitement for another person.
"You did?! That's great!" She smiled at Alex, pressing a kiss on her nose.
Alex blushed at the praise, and Grace could see the pride shining in her little girl's eyes.
She nodded shyly, "Her name's Loryn, and she's really cool."
"Aw, I'm so proud of you Princess." Grace cooed.
"Can you come say hi?" Alex asked.
"Uh, sure." Grace put Alex back on the ground and let the little girl pull her towards her new friend.
"Look Loryn!" Alex said excitedly when they reach a little blonde girl, "This is mama! She's the coolest mama ever!"
Grace gently smiled down at the girl, knowing deep down that Hannah would be soooo much better at this, "Hi Loryn, it's nice to meet you."
The little girl gaped at Grace, "You're so tall!"
"Loryn!" A woman, Grace assumed Loryn's mother, scolded the girl, "That's not polite."
"It's okay," Grace reassured the woman, "I am kinda tall. I'm, uh, I'm Grace, by the way."
"Oh, I know, I spoke to your wife a few days ago. I'm Rachel." The woman smiled warmly.
Grace flushed, "Uh, Hannah's not... we're not married."
"You're raising a child together, I can hardly call you girlfriends, now can I?" The woman smiled. Grace smiled back at the woman. She reminded her kinda of Molly Weasly, charming, warm, a real mom in every sense of the word.
"So, it seems like our girls are hitting it off." Rachel said, pointing to the two girls who were wrapped up in a very serious conversation about My Little Pony versus Dora the Explorer.
Grace grinned, "They do. You have no idea how glad I am that Alex is making friends."
"Hannah and I were actually talking about arranging a playdate on Saturday." Rachel said, "But I'm afraid we'll have to reschedule. My oldest, Brian, he's sixteen and he has a baseball game on Saturday. I can't miss that."
"Oh, if you want we could look after Loryn for you?" Grace suggested, knowing that Alex would love it, "We can take Loryn to the park with us and bring her back after the game?"
"Could you? That would be amazing!" The woman exclaimed happily, "My Celine, she's fourteen now, has been complaining non-stop about having to babysit Loryn. But I can't just take a little girl to such a loud game, can I?"
Jezus, how many kids does this woman have?!
"No, I get it," Grace agreed, "But we'll take her on Saturday, no problem."

"Here's her bag. There's a change of clothes in it, just in case." Rachel handed the bag to Hannah, while Grace buckled the two little girls into their seats.
"Alrighty!" Hannah grinned, "Have fun at the baseball game, and wish Brian good luck from us."
Trust Hannah to actually remember the names of Rachel's kids. It was so typically Hannah that it made Grace smile.
"Will do." Rachel smiled, "Thanks again for taking her."
"Don't mention it." Hannah waved it off, "Alex has been looking forward to this all week."
"Wave goodbye girls."
****
Grace wrapped her arm around Hannah when they sat down on the bench. Hannah smiled and rested her head on the brunette's shoulder.
Hannah sighed happily when Grace's fingers ran softly up and down her side while they kept a close eye on the playing girls.
"Look at them," Grace smiled, "Alex looks so happy."
"She does." Hannah agreed, pressing a soft kiss to Grace's neck, "Thanks to you Grace."
"What?" Grace looked at her girlfriend in surprise.
"Yeah, I never could have done all this without you. I mean, I would have tried my best, but it wouldn't be the same. You are an essential part of the happiness in our house." Hannah admitted.
"Our house..." Grace repeated, "Hannah, I've been thinking lately... I haven't been in my house for so long... I was thinking, maybe I could sell it?"
Hannah got up from her position on Grace's shoulder and looked at the brunette with wide eyes.
"You... you wanna move in?" Hannah asked carefully, "Like, officially?"
"If that's okay with you?"
Hannah nodded so fast Grace was afraid her head might fall off.
The tall woman pulled Hannah close and wrapped her in a tight hug.
"I love you so much." Hannah whispered.
"Are you crying?" Grace chuckled, resting her chin on Hannah's head.
"Noooo." Hannah replied unconvincingly, sniffling loudly.
"Eww, don't get your snot on my shirt!"
****
Alex and Loryn were playing in the sandbox.
"Why do you have two moms?" Loryn asked very seriously.
Alex shrugged, "I don't know."
"Don't you need a daddy? I have a daddy."
"No," Alex shook her head, "I don't want a daddy."
"Why not?" the blonde child asked.
"Because if I have a daddy, I won't have a mama and a mommy anymore."
"Oh." Loryn nodded in understanding, "Are they fun?"
"Uhu. They are the best!" Alex grinned, "I get to sleep in their bed sometimes and mommy always cuddles me, and mama gives me an extra cookie sometimes. But that's a secret."
"Coooool!"
****
Hannah rang the doorbell to Loryn's front door and immediately intertwined her hand with Grace's again, as if it physically hurt her to not touch the brunette.
A teenage girl, who Hannah assumed must be Loryn's sister, opened the door.
"Hello... Oh My God!" The girl screamed. Hannah felt like a caught teenager and Grace just cringed when they saw what the girl was wearing. With her backwards snapback, Camp Takota hoodie, and short jeans shorts, the young girl looked like the epitome of a trinitittie.
"Uh..." Hannah's brain short-circuited, trying desperately to find a plausible reason for Grace to be there, holding her hand.
"What on earth are you yelling at!" Rachel appeared from behind the awestruck teenager, "Celine! I did not raise you like this! You can't scream at every gay couple you see!"
"I... I..." the girl opened and closed her mouth a few times, "You're... Hartbig?"
"Celine! Don't swear at them, for God's sake!" Rachel gently pulled the girl aside, and let Hannah and Grace into their home.
Loryn dragged Alex away immediately to show her her bedroom.
"I am so sorry for Celine." Rachel muttered, "Please, sit down. Do you want something to drink?"
"Uh, no thank you." Hannah replied, "And don't worry. She didn't do anything wrong. I... uh... I think she's a fan of our work."
Grace nodded sending the shaky teenager a reassuring smile.
"Oh, what do you do for a living?" Rachel asked.
"We work in entertainment..." Hannah said vaguely, not really sure if 'getting drunk and posting it on YouTube' would be an appropriate response.
"Mom! That's Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart!" Celine finally found her voice again, "From YouTube?! From Camp Takota?!" She pointed at her sweater, "Two parts of the Holy Trinity?!"
Rachel looked at her daughter with a blank stare.
"Ugh moooom! Don't you ever listen to me?!" Celine whined, "You bought me their books? Remember? My Drunk Kitchen?"
Hannah and Grace watched in amusement as Celine desperately tried to explain just how important they were.
"I'm sorry, I really don't know what you're talking about..." Rachel said.
"The gay one on YouTube with the puns mom!"
"Oh! Oooh! Yes! You made me watch that!" Rachel seemed to remember, "With the grapes! Was that you?" She asked Hannah.
"Yes!" Celine said excitedly, "Grapes of Wrath!"
Hannah chuckled, "You know the names of all my episodes?"
"Duh!" the teenager said with glee, "I've watch them all, multiple times! And yours too Grace!"
"Thank you." Grace smiled.
"I knew Hartbig was real! I knew it!" Celine grinned, "No one believed me at first, but then you started shooting your vids at Hannah's place! I knew it was canon all along! You're totally my OTP!"
Hannah laughed at the fangirling happening in front of her, while Rachel just shook her head, "I'm pretty sure those aren't words."
Grace chuckled loudly, "It's Tumblr-speak for I'm happy to see you."
"Oh oh oh! Can we take pictures? Please?" The teenager begged, "I can't wait to show my friends!"
"Celine!" Rachel scolded.
"No, it's fine." Grace smiled, "As long as you don't post any Hartbig-proof on Tumblr?"
Celine nodded, "Deal!"
"But once the announcement is made, we'll reblog you so the entire fandom will know you were the first to know." Hannah winks.
"Oh God! They are going to be sooo jealous!"
****
"Bye! It was nice to see you!" the Hartbig-family, as Celine so lovingly dubbed them, waved goodbye.
"Well, that was an experience." Grace chuckled as Hannah drove them home.
Hannah laughed, "Yeah, but, uh, maybe we should start thinking about making an announcement?"
"Maybe." Grace shrugged, "I mean, I'm not ashamed or anything, but you have been in almost all my fridiaries, and I film at your place. Everyone knows now, right? Do we really need to say it?"
"Our place." Hannah corrected with a grin.
"I love you Hannah." Grace said softly, placing her hand on Hannah's knee.
The small woman smiled widely, "I love you too Gracie."
"And me!" Alex piped up from the back.
"Yes Princess," Grace chuckled, "We love you."
