Magic kissies

Grace woke up to an empty bed. A few months ago, she would have just turned on her other side and closed her eyes again. But, now she couldn't wait to get out of bed to start her day. Their day.
She could hear the regular Saturday morningcartoons when she passed the living room, but today the kitchen would be her first stop.
Hannah was shaking her hips, listening to some trashy pop song on the radio, wearing nothing but her favorite Spongebob boxershorts and a tanktop.
Grace walked up to her, and wrapped her arms around the blonde, holding her close.
"Hey baby." Hannah grinned, craning her neck to kiss Grace.
"Goodmorning love." Grace muttered.
Hannah's hands came to rest on hers, and the blonde leaned back in the embrace. If it was possible, Grace could stay like this all day.
"I love you." Hannah whispered.
Grace grinned, kissing the top of the blonde's head, "I love you too Hannah."
"Do we have plans today?" Hannah muttered, "Cause I kinda just wanna go back to bed and cuddle."
"We have a little girl to take care of." Grace whispered, not having any intention of moving away just yet.
Hannah shrugged, "We'll squish her between us?"
"Hannah!" Grace giggled.
"What?" Hannah faked innocence.
"We're not squishing our daughter between anything." Grace warned, "Besides, you promised Tyler we'd visit today."
Hannah turned around in Grace's arms, wrapping her hands around the brunette's neck, "Are you sure I can't convince you that we need to stay home today?"
Grace's arms tightened around her waist, "We can't babe, Tyler had something important to tell us, remember?"
Hannah groaned, dropping her head against Grace's shoulder, "It's probably him finally admitting that he's getting it on with Troye."
"Don't be so grumpy." Grace laughed, before putting on her best Mama-voice, "If you're good for Auntie Ty, we'll watch Frozen when we get back and cuddle, okay?"
Hannah laughed loudly, "God, don't use that voice on me!"
"Why?"Grace smiled, "Isn't it sexy?"
"No!"
Grace grinned, "So you don't think I'm a hot mom?"
"That's not what I said!" the blonde laughed, "You're the hottest mom ever babe."
Hannah teasingly ran her hands down from Grace's neck, over her back to her butt.
"So, uh, how distracted do you think Alex is right now?" Grace asked, feeling a little flushed.
Hannah threw her head back laughing, "Not distracted enough for that honey."
The brunette groaned, "Well then don't touch me like that!"
Blue eyes twinkled with mischief and Grace took a step back from her girlfriend.
"What are you up too?"
"Nothing!" Hannah grinned wickedly, with each step Grace took away from her, Hannah took two toward her.
"Babe?" Grace asked with a hesitant smile.
Hannah reached out to her, trying to grab her. Grace squeaked loudly, running away from the kitchen. Hannah chased her to the living room, both of them laughing loudly.
The blonde leaped at Grace, tackling her on the couch. They fell on the soft surface in a mess of tangled limbs and loud giggles.
Alex looked up from her cartoons, shook her head at their crazy antics and focused back on the TV. "Silly mommies."
****
They were the last ones to arrive at Tyler's house. The place was packed. It seemed like Tyler had invited all of his California friends, along with every YouTuber he knew. A lot of people. And Grace did not appreciate crowds, nor did her daughter.
The tall woman was clinging to Hannah's arm for dear life, and Alex had tried to climb up on Hannah's legs as soon as the door opened. Why anyone would hide for safety behind her was beyond the short blonde, but she couldn't help but feel proud walking through the house with the two most beautiful ladies in the world.
"Hartbigs! You made it! Hey gurls!" Tyler greeted them cheerily.
"Hi Ty." Hannah greeted.
"Hi Auntie." Alex whispers, clinging tightly to Hannah. Grace only managed a forced smile.
Tyler grimaced, "I know, I know, not really your scene. But I swear most people are leaving in a second, and then it's just going to be our little self-made YouTube-family."
"Oh thank god." Grace breathed.
"Yeah, you can hang out in the kitchen. It's less crowded there. Mamrie's sitting there too, and there's some toys for my favorite little munchkin!"
True to his word, people started filtering out of the house fast, and soon it was just them and their regular gang of Chester, Swike, Mamrie, Flula, Tyler and Troye.
"So, uh, I have a little announcement." Tyler started with a bright smile. Troye nudged him. "Ow! Okay, sorry, we have an announcement."
"Spit it out Tyler." Mamrie said. Hannah immediately covered Alex's ears anticipating the crude joke that was about to follow. "Or swallow, if that's what you prefer."
"Mamrie!" Everyone at the table chastised her.
The redhead shrugged unapologetic, "Her ears were covered!"
"Anyways," Tyler said, getting back on track, "What we want to tell you is that, Troye and I are dating."
Alex was the only one who reacted. The girl cocked her head, and frowned at her Auntie Ty.
"Uh, Troye is my boyfriend now." Tyler explained to her.
"I know." Alex said, grabbing a crayon out of the box on the table.
Tyler pulled a face, "Uh, no sweetheart, you didn't know that. I never told you."
Alex sighed, obviously fed up with the adults who were trying to keep her from her drawing. "You look at Troyie like Mommy looks at Mama. Right Mommy?"
Hannah chuckled at Tyler's shocked expression, "That's right little princess. Tyler and Troye love each other, and everyone has known that for months now, haven't we?"
"But, we didn't say anything?" Tyler pouted.
Troye rolled his eyes, "Hate to say I told you so baby. But I definitely told you so. You cannot keep secrets."
"I so can!" Tyler squeaked indignantly.
"You so cannot!" Troye countered.
"Oh come on!" Tyler waved his hands around, "Is literally no one surprised?"
A series of "nope"s and "no"s were muttered by his friends.
"You guys suck."
"Don't!" Grace cut Mamrie's oncoming joke off, leaving the redhead mumbling about childproofing her vocabulary.
Tyler dropped his head on the table, "Ow!"
"Don't cry Auntie Ty!" Alex patted his green hair, "Mama has magic kissies for auwies. I'll let you have one."
"Alex!" Hannah chuckled, "You can't just give Mama's kissies away!"
"But he has an auwie." Alex pouted.
Grace smiled at the little girl, "I think Auntie Ty likes Troye's kissies more than mine."
Alex shook her head disapprovingly, "Mama's kissies are always better."
How?
It had been bugging Grace in a way nothing ever bugged her before. Hannah's vlogs were full of adorable little Alex-anecdotes. Or has Hannah annoyingly called them, Alexdotes. But Grace thought it would be cute to not say anything about her own involvement, for some stupid reason she couldn't even remember.
She thought it would be funny to leave all the fans and shippers guessing. Well, it wasn't fucking funny anymore.
Every time she had to edit a 'Mama, look at this!' or a 'Mama, can you help?' out of a vlog, her heart broke a little. She looked at her screen were she was busy editing her newest Fridiary.
She was so happy that she had caught this moment on camera. She was filming a merch-update when Alex ran up to her, in her newest pink princessdress, and told her just how much she loved her Mama, excitedly waving her arms around. Grace had cried. She had bawled like a baby, picking the little girl up and smothering her with kisses, because she was just too precious to be true.
Grace felt the tears well up when she rewatched the moment. There was no way in hell that she would delete this footage.
"Hannah?" Grace called out, "Baby? Come here for a sec!"
"What's up?" Hannah trudged into their shared office, "Are you crying? Did something happen?" The blonde asked frantically, rushing to Grace's side.
"I'm fine sweetie." Grace said, wiping at her eyes.
"You don't really look fine... What's going on?"
"I want them to know that Alex is mine too." Grace whispered nervously, awkwardly wringing her hands together.
The blonde shrugged, "Okay, then tell them."
"But she isn't mine..."
"What? Baby, of course she is." Hannah frowned.
"Hannah, Alex isn't really mine, you know that..."
"I never really thought about that." Hannah muttered honestly, "I didn't know it was bothering you this much..."
"It's just... if something happens to her, if she falls at school, or if she gets sick, I won't know, no one is going to call me."
Hannah stared at the ground like a kicked puppy, "I would call you..."
Grace couldn't help but chuckle, "I know you would baby, but that's not my point."
"You're right. You're absolutely right." Hannah reached out to grab her girlfriend's hands, "I never really thought about making our family official... I kinda forgot we weren't officially a family. And I'm so sorry that I didn't realize this was bothering you so much baby."
Grace rolled her eyes, "Why do you always have to be so fucking sincere?"
Hannah grinned at her, ducking her head in the most adorable way.
"I'll give that social worker a call tomorrow?" Hannah asked.
Grace nodded. She felt butterflies in her stomach. She was so excited for this to finally happen.
"Do you want to tell your subscribers?"
Grace nodded, "I should tell my parents first though..."
"What? You didn't tell your parent?" Hannah exclaimed shocked, "You've been living here for three months! What the fuck Grace?!"
The brunette reeled back, "Back off Hannah! This isn't easy to explain! How the fuck do I tell my parents that I went from being straight and hating kids, to living with a woman and raising a child, preferably without them thinking I've lost my goddamn mind?!"
Hannah took a deep breath, feeling the guilt creep up on her instantly. "You're right. I'm sorry. But I just thought that by now you'd have figured out how to do that... I should have asked, I'm sorry."
"I know," Grace sighed, "It's just not easy. I know my parents, I know they'll be happy for me, but there's just this tiny voice in my head thinking about what if? What if they don't support us? What if they don't like Alex?"
Hannah reached out to Grace, rubbing the brunette's shoulders, "Okay first of all, who on this planet doesn't like Alex? She's the cutest, prettiest little girl in the world." Grace chuckled at Hannah's words. "And second of all, don't listen to that voice. Your parents love you Gracie. It's going to be just fine. I am sure of it."
Grace nodded resolutely, "You're right. I'm going to call them right now."
"Yeah!" Hannah cheered her on, "You can do it!"
"You're, uh, you're staying with me right?" Grace asked quietly, "I'm not just raising a child, I'm raising her with you. I wouldn't be doing this without you. And I just kinda... I need you to hold my hand... when I tell them."
"Anything you want love."
****
Theresa picked up on the third ring, and Grace thought she was going to throw up.
"Grace! It's so good to hear from you! You never call anymore!" Theresa started chatting away, "I swear if I wasn't looking at your twitter I wouldn't even know if you were alive!"
"Mom I have to tell you something." Grace started.
"Why don't you take an example to your brother? You know, Tim calls me every day." Theresa ranted on, "Oh, did you see his new haircut? What did you think? I think it's lovely."
"Mom, it's important.'
"Also, what are your plans for the holidays? I know it's early, but I need to know how many guests to expect. Mary-Rose's kids are all spending Christmas at her house, no pressure, but you know how she is always bragging about those dumbass kids of hers. I swear they are..."
"MOM! I have a child and I'm gay!" Grace screamed down the line. Her mind took a second to catch up with her mouth, and then she just stared at Hannah, looking completely horrified.
The line was silent for a second, before Theresa cleared her throat, "Was that... uh... was that a joke?"
"Uh... no mom, it isn't a joke..." Grace sighed heavily, "I'm sorry, I should have said something before but I just didn't know where to begin, and there was so much going on, and it wasn't easy at all, and Alessandra needs so much attention that I kinda just forgot and, it was all so much and..." Grace had to close her eyes to keep the tears at bay, "I'm sorry mommy."
Hannah rubbed her back, trying her best to help Grace through.
"Alessandra?" Theresa asked, "Is that, uh, is that my granddaughter?"
"Uh yeah." Grace muttered, "She's, uh, she's five now. She's so beautiful mom. And so smart."
"I would love to meet her." Theresa hesitated, "and uh, the woman you're raising her with?"
Grace smiled despite herself, "It's Hannah, mom. It's always been Hannah."
"Oh thank God." Theresa breathed, "You have always been perfect for each other. You know Gracie, a mother always knows. Now, tell me everything that happened, because I might be getting old, but I still know where babies come from and five-year-olds don't just show up at your doorstep, now do they?"
Grace felt a weight fall of her shoulders. She had been thinking about this moment, for months now. Wondering about everything that could be said. Dreading and doubting, and then getting angry at herself for not trusting her mother to react positively. The brunette had hidden her emotional rollercoaster from Hannah, because... well, because of obvious reasons.
But she did it. She came out. With Hannah by her side of course. And the sheer amount of relief and joy made her cry her eyes out.
"Gracie?" Theresa's voice sounded through the speaker, "Are you still there sweetheart?"
Grace couldn't form words. She thrust the phone in Hannah's hands, and then buried her face in the blonde's side, crying.
Hannah hesitantly brought the phone to her ear, "Hey? Theresa? It's uh, it's Hannah... Grace is uh, a little emotional right now..."
"Oh, is she crying?" Theresa asked, "Well tell her there's no need for tears. I swear, for someone who claims to feel no emotions, she can be such a mess sometimes."
"Uh, I'll tell her..." Hannah muttered awkwardly, trying to sooth Grace at the same time.
"Now, what does a woman need to do around here to get to know her grandbaby?" Theresa sassed down the line.
Grace chuckled through her tears, and Hannah smiled widely.
"Why don't you come visit us?" Hannah suggested, "We'd love to have you over."
"Aw, you're an us! That's so adorable!" Theresa cooed, "Let me check my calendar! Watch out California! Grandma is on the way!"
Pools and instagram
It was hot in LA. Too hot. Hannah was whining about the heat, Alex was whining about needing more popsicles, even Goose was completely and utterly whiny. The poor dog refused to move away from her waterbowl, and at one point Grace was sure she saw the dog just dunking her head in the cold water.
"Mamaaaaaaaa." Alex complained. Grace looked down at the floor where her flushed little girl was laying down, refusing to move.
"Graaaaaaaaaaace." Hannah mimicked Alex from her position on the ground next to the child.
Grace sighed with a smile, shaking her head at their crazy antics, "I can't do anything about the heat sweethearts."
"Ugh!" They groaned in unison from the floor.
"We could go swimming?" Grace suggested.
Hannah shot up from the floor, "Awesome!"
"I can't swim Mama." Alex muttered.
"We'll teach you Princess." Grace smiled, tugging her up from the floor, "It's gonna be fun! You get to splash at Mommy!"
"Yeah!"
****
For such a hot day, the public pool was surprisingly calm. Hannah and Grace each held one of Alex's hand, as they guided her to the kids' pool.
"It's scary." Alex whispered.
"It's gonna be fine sweetie." Grace soothed, "The pool isn't deep at all. The water only reaches my knees. Look."
Grace got into the pool to prove her point. Alex huffed defiantly, "You're super tall Mama, let Mommy try."
Grace laughed loudly. "Oh come on!" Hannah muttered, smiling as well, "You're lucky you're cute."
Hannah was still muttering under her breath when he got into the pool, "See? I'm still above the water."
"Come on Alex!" Grace encouraged, "You can do this."
The little girl carefully dipped her toes into the water, pulling them out quickly, "It's cold Mama!"
"It'll get warmer once you're in." Hannah smiled, "It's gonna be fine."
Alex reached out to her Mommy, jumping in Hannah's arms. "I did it!"
Hannah laughed, "Sweetie, you're still not in the water."
Alex looked down to see that she was still above the surface. "Oh..."
"You want me to put you down?" Hannah asked gently.
Alex nodded, "Slowly." She added, waving a finger at her Mommy in warning.
Grace chuckled, and Hannah gently lowered the girl in the pool.
"Hoh! It's cold!" Alex squeaked, instinctively putting her arms up.
Grace rubbed the girl's head, "You won't feel it in a minute."
Hannah got on her knees, and gently splashed some water at Alex.
"Mommy!" Alex shrieked.
Grace laughed at the shocked expression on their daughter's face, "Go on," She goaded Alex, "Splash her back."
Alex adamantly shook her head.
"Come on!" Grace encouraged. She took Alex's little hand in her own, and splashed Hannah, "Like that!"
The girl giggled loudly when Hannah made a silly face. She squirmed her hand free from Grace grip and started slamming at the water with both hands, wildly splashing the water at her Mommy.
Hannah laughed, and splashed back, keeping in mind to be gentle with her girl.
"Mama Mama! It's not cold anymore!" a thoroughly soaked Alex grinned widely.
"Yay!" Grace cheered along, "Wanna go on the slide?"
Alex looked at the slide Grace pointed out. It was shaped like an elephant, the slide was its trunk.
Hannah caught on to the girl's hesitance, "I'll catch you when you come off, okay?"
Alex nodded, and Grace took her hand to help her on the slide.
"Ready?" Hannah asked when Alex sat down on the slide. Alex nodded and slid down the short slide, with Grace hovering next to her. Hannah swept the girl up, heaving her above her head, and twirled her around.
"Yay! You did it!" Grace and Hannah both cheered loudly and Alex grinned proudly.
****
Alex was teetering on the edge of sleep by the time they got home. Grace lifted her out of her carseat, and carried her inside.
Goose greeted them lazily, sniffing once at Alex's dangling feet.
"Move Gooser." Grace muttered in a hushed voice, trying not to step on the dog.
"Put her on the couch." Hannah suggested, "We can start dinner while she naps."
Grace nodded and settled the sleepy child on the couch, tucking her in with her favorite blanket and mr. Bun-Bun.
"So cute." Hannah grinned, grabbing Grace's hand and pulling her to the kitchen.
Grace groaned, "I don't wanna cook babe."
"Uh, we can order in? Thai?" Hannah suggested.
"My knight in shining Prius." Grace grinned, "Why are you still dragging me to the kitchen?"
"Because..." Hannah grinned widely, wiggling her eyebrows, "the couch is taken."
****
"We should order food babe." Grace pulled away breathlessly, "And check on Alex."
"Five more minutes?" Hannah whined, leaning back in. Grace pushed her away giggling, "You said that ten minutes ago baby."
Hannah rolled her eyes with a smile, "Fine. I'll order, you wake the princess?"
"Yup." Grace hopped of the counter, but gave Hannah another loving kiss before leaving the kitchen.
Hannah sighed happily to herself, opening the drawer to search for the take-out menu.
"Han, baby, come check this out." Grace called her.
Hannah shuffled to the living room to Grace.
"Look at them." Grace cooed.
Goose had crawled onto the couch and snuggled up to Alex. The little girl was practically sleeping on top of the dog.
"They're so cute." Hannah smiled snapping a picture. "This is going on instagram."
"Wait." Grace stopped her, "Maybe I can post it? On my account?"
Hannah grinned widely, "Whatever you want love."
Ten minutes later a new photo found itself on instagram with the caption, "My two babies."
Heart-baby
Hannah raised an eyebrow when Alex walked straight past her to the car.
"Whoa! What do you think you're doing?" The blonde grabbed the little girl's shoulder and tugges her away from the busy street. "That' dangerous Alex!" she warned.
The kid just shrugged.
"What's wrong baby?" Hannah asked concerned, "Did something happen at school?"
Alex kicked at the ground, "NO!"
Hannah sighed. She did not want to deal with a tantrum at the schoolgate in front of all the other parents. "Come one, we'll talk about it when we get home."
"No!" Alex sulked.
"Yes." Hannah countered, swiftly picking the fussy girl up and carrying her to the car, "And take that attitude down a notch, I do not appreciate it."
****
Grace heard the car pull up on the driveway and sprinted to the front door. She swung the door open and crouched down. Alex always loved flinging herself at her Mama after a long day at school, and who was Grace to deny such an adorable request.
Alex was frowning and pouting when she got out of the car, and Hannah looked pretty much near tears.
"Hey, what happened?" Grace asked concerned.
Alex huffed and stomped past Grace into the house.
The brunette was shocked, and her stomach clenched at the harsh rejection. "Hannah?"
"I don't know." Hannah sighed, pressing her small body into Grace for a much needed hug, "She was like that when I picked her up and she won't talk to me. I don't know what to do."
Grace lovingly patted Hannah's head. "Maybe she's just tired?" She suggested.
Hannah shrugged, and buried her face deeper into Grace's neck. The brunette held her girlfriend and pretended not to feel the hot tears that dropped from Hannah's face onto her skin.
By dinnertime, Alex still hadn't turned around and it was painfully obvious. Normally, dinner would be filled with giggles and laughter, but now, the only noises came from the clanking of cutlery on plates.
Alex was pushing her peas around on her plate, not eating anything. Every once in a while, the girl would lift her head, to see if someone was watching her, and then look back down immediately when she saw brown and blue eyes pierce into her own.
When she was sure no one paid attention to her, she hopped off her chair and made a run for it.
Grace quickly caught her and put the struggling child back in her seat.
"Alright Missy! That is it." Grace said sternly, "You have been sulking around all day! What happened at school?"
Alex's eyes welled up with tears, "Nothing."
"Baby, this doesn't look like nothing." Grace pulled the little girl close, the sight of tears made all of her anger and frustration disappear.
"You can tell us anything sweetheart." Hannah encouraged softly.
Alex sniffled loudly, "Marty is getting a baby brother."
"That's good for Marty?" Hannah cocked her head in confusion.
"He says that babies come from their mommies' bellies."
Grace nodded.
"I don't..." Alex whispered, looking at the ground, "Marty says that you're not really my mommies. He says you can't really love me."
Hannah knew this day would come. And she knew that it would hurt to see her little baby crying over something that she couldn't help. She just never anticipated that it would hurt so so much. It was like someone smashed her heart with a sledgehammer, just shattered it to pieces. She couldn't do anything to make Alex's tears go away. It felt like she was failing her baby girl.
"Oh Alex," Grace whispered, pulling Alex on her lap, "My sweet little princess. Don't listen to him. Nobody in this world loves you more than we do. We love you so much pretty girl."
Hannah could only nod in agreement as tears streamed down her face.
"But I don't come from your belly." Alex whispered.
"You don't. But sweetie, I love you as if you did come from my belly." Grace rubbed her back, "You don't come from my belly, or from mommie's belly, you come from our hearts. You tell him that, next time he teases you. Tell him that you are our little heart-baby."
Dentist
"Alex stop rubbing at your face like that." Grace repeated for the umpteenth time.
The little girl dropped her hand, only to start rubbing at her jaw again two minutes later.
"Alex." Grace reprimanded, "What are you even doing? Do you have an itch?"
Alex sighed, "No, I have an auwie mama."
"On your face?" Grace asked, "Let me see."
Alex crawled on Grace's lap, burring her face in Grace's neck.
"Princess, I can't see anything if you hide your face." Grace chuckled, prying the girl away from her so she could inspect her auwie.
"Alex, baby, where does it hurt?" Grace asked when she couldn't see anything on the kid's face.
"Here." Alex pointed at her jaw.
Grace frowned, "I don't see it baby."
"But it's an auwie." Alex whined, "It hurts mama. Make the hurt stop please."
Grace's heart broke, she pulled the little girl close and rubbed her back to sooth her.
"I don't know where you're hurting baby." Grace said, "Wait, is it your teeth? Do you have a toothache sweetheart?"
Alex nodded, "Here." She pointed at her jaw again.
"Oh my poor baby." Grace cooed, "We'll take you to the doctor tomorrow, okay?"
"Hannah!" The brunette called for her girlfriend. Alex and Grace both chuckled when they heard the clattering of Hannah dropping whatever she was doing, and storming to the living room.
"What's up?"
"Can you take Alex to the dentist tomorrow?"
"Uh, no, I'm busy." Hannah said immediately.
"You didn't even check your calendar?" Grace frowned.
"Yeah, uh, I know I don't have time." Hannah muttered.
Grace sighed, "Well, can you give me the number of your dentist? Mine isn't really childfriendly."
"Uhm," Hannah turned an awkward shade of red, "I don't think I... I don't know his... I, uh..."
"Spit it out Hannah." Grace interrupted her stuttering.
"I don't really have a dentist."
Grace cocked her head in confusion.
"I'm, uh," Hannah wrung her hands together, "I might be a little, uh, scared of dentists."
Grace bit her lip trying her hardest not to laugh at her adorable lover.
Alex had less success keeping quiet, "It's scary?! I don't have an auwie, mama, it's all better now!"
The girl tried to squirm off her Mama's lap, but Grace held her tight, "It's not scary Alex. Mommy is just being silly, right mommy?" Grace send Hannah a pointed look.
"Uh, yeah, not scary at all." Hannah lied.
The little girl didn't look convinced at all.
"You know what, why don't we all go to the dentist?" Grace suggested, "Then you can see that it isn't scary?"
****
"Good afternoon, please come in," The dentist muttered, "So, who's going first?"
"Mommy!"Alex chimed.
Hannah swallowed heavily, keeping a very tight grip on Grace's hand, "Why doesn't mama go first?" she suggested quietly.
"Come on baby," Grace encouraged, "You can do it."
The blonde woman looked even paler than usual as she shuffled to the chair.
The doctor cleared his throat, "And you are...?"
"Hannah." she squeaked.
"Alright Hannah, sit down please, let's have a quick look."
Hannah did as the doctor asked, clutching the sides of the chair for dear life.
The dentist frowned, "Uh, Hannah, you're going to have to open your mouth."
Grace chuckled softly as Hannah kept her lips tightly pressed together.
"Come on, baby, it's fine." She told her terrified girlfriend, "You're setting an example here mommy."
Hannah breathed heavily, feeling like she was going to pass out for nerves any second now. But Alex was looking at her with those big eyes, and Hannah knew that if she just cooperated with the dentist, her little girl would have a much easier time.
For Alex. Hannah thought, opening her mouth and clenching her eyes shut.
Hannah's check-up went quickly, and she only felt like throwing once or twice. Victory!
"Alex, you're turn." Grace nudged the little girl gently. Alex hopped on the chair, if mommy could do it, so could she.
"Let's have a little looksie, shall we." The dentist smiled gently, "Oh, I see, you have a little cavity. It's an easy fix."
The man started rummaging through all his dentist-thingies, "Is she allergic to anything?" he asked Grace off-handedly.
"No, I don't think so."
"Good." He lifted a syringe up, "Now I'm gonna have to give you a little prick, so you won't feel any pain when I work on your tooth."
Alex's eyes went wide with fear, and she reached her hand out for Grace to hold.
"This might sting a little." The doctor warned gently.
Grace squeezed the little girl's hand in support.
The man moved the syringe closer to Alex.
"Oh God..." Hannah whispered. Grace whipped her head around in time to see Hannah turn a nasty shade of green.
****
"Well, ladies, you're all set!" The dentist smiled brightly, putting his tools away.
"Now, I've got a little something for you." He told Alex, reaching into a drawer, and pulling out a sheet of stickers. "You've been a very brave girl, so you get to pick a sticker."
Alex quickly chose a little star-shaped sparkly sticker, mumbling a thank you.
"And you get to choose one as well Hannah," He smirked, "For managing to keep your lunch down. Although it was a pretty close call."
Grace chuckled, and Hannah grumbled under her breath, choosing a heart-shaped sticker, and sticking it on her sweater.
Vidcon
"God, were they this loud last year?" Hannah asked Mamrie when they walked through the lobby.
Hundreds of fangirls had gathered at the hotel in hopes to see their favorite YouTubers.
Mamrie laughed, "I think you've just gotten old since last year."
"Yeah well, if they wake Alex, I'm going full Mama-mode on their asses." Grace muttered, keeping an eye on her little girl.
"How are you guys going to do this with her?" Mamrie asked.
"Well, Grace will look after her when I'm doing my stuff, and I'll do it when she's doing her panels." Hannah shrugged.
"What about the Trinity panel?" The redhead questioned.
"That's Auntie Ty's turn." Grace said.
"And honestly, there's you, Swike, Chester, Troyler..." Hannah summed up, "We'll be fine."
****
It had been going perfectly so far. They had managed to keep Alex happy and away from the fans. But of course, their lucky streak had to come to an end somehow.
"Okay, so the question is, is there going to be a Camp Takota 2?" Hannah repeated during the Trinity Q and A.
Mamrie rolled her eyes, "First of all..."
Hannah and Grace prepared themselves for Mamrie's answer.
A flash of orange ran on the stage, followed by Tyler.
"Get back here!" He shrieked.
The crowd started to yell and squeal when they recognized little Alex in her carrot onesie.
Alex jumped from the noise and ran to Hannah, crawling on her lap in fear.
"Hey tone it down!" Mamrie told the crowd, "You're scaring the kid."
"I'm sorry guys." Tyler said, "I turned my head for just a second and she just took off."
"Alex." Hannah gave her a strict look, "What did we tell you?"
The girl pouted.
"You had to stay with Tyler while mommy and I work." Grace reminded her.
"But I missed you..." Alex sniffled, "You were gone sooo long."
"Well, we told you not to come on the stage, so no desert tonight." Hannah told her.
Grace took of her watch, "Look sweetie, when the big arrow points to the 12 we'll be back, okay?"
"Okay." Alex pouted.
"Go on, go back with Auntie Ty." Hannah said.
Alex crawled off Hannah's lap, and accepted Tyler's hand.
"Whoa whoa," Mamrie stopped them, "Where's my hug Carrot?"
Alex giggled and jumped in Mamrie's arms.
"You give the best hugs Carrot." Mamrie said, putting the girl back on the ground, "Now listen to your Auntie Ty okay? I might sneak in some ice cream if you're good to him."
Alex cheered, and ran backstage with Tyler.
"You are corrupting my kid." Grace laughed.

It was the last night of Vidcon. Hannah was glad they booked a hotelroom with a separate living room.
Alex was fast asleep and she and Grace were snuggling on the couch watching some trashy reality TV.
"You can go to the party if you want baby." Hannah said, "I'll watch Alex."
"No, I won't have fun without you." Grace muttered, "I'd rather be here with my family."
Hannah kissed the top of her head, "I love you Grace."
"I love you too baby." Grace lifted her head and pressed a soft kiss on Hannah's lips.
A knock on the door broke them apart.
"Seriously?" Hannah groaned, getting up, "At this hour?"
"You're so cute when you're grumpy." Grace giggled.
Hannah was still muttering that she was not cute when she opened the door, "Theresa? What are you doing here?"
"Mom?" Grace was equally shocked.
"Well, you girls certainly know how to make someone feel welcome," Theresa joked, "I'm babysitting tonight."
Grace hugged her mom, "You flew all the way from New Jersey to babysit?"
"Yes, Mamrie called and said you two were sitting inside instead of going to a party, so I took the first flight over!"
"Wow Theresa, that's so nice of you." Hannah said.
"Actually I just wanted an excuse to see my grandchild." Theresa smiled, "Go on, get ready. You're too young to wilt inside."
"Okay, just let us go say something to Alex," Grace said, "I don't want her to wake up without knowing we're not here."
The two women headed to Alex's bed and gently woke the girl up.
"Hey baby, mama and I are going out for a bit, but Grandma is here to look after you okay?" Hannah whispered.
Alex tiredly rubbed her eyes, "Grandma?"
"Yes, she came all the way here to be with you." Grace smiled.
"Go back to sleep sweetheart," Hannah said, "We'll be here when you wake up in the morning."
"Kay..." Alex mumbled, almost back asleep.
"We love you sweetheart." Grace whispered.
