"Suck it up and get going." I scolded crossing my arms and tapping my foot impatiently.
"I was shot! I nearly died!" Seth shouted back.
"It's been three weeks! Stop using it as an excuse!" Seth groaned and tried wheeling away in his wheel chair but I caught the handles and pulled him back. "Seth, if you don't try you're never going to get anywhere."
It turned out that the bullet did more damage then we originally thought. While he was heavily poisoned with wolfs bane his wolf was weak. When the bullet hit him, it damaged a nerve in his lower back effecting his ability to walk. The doctor thought his wolf would be able to heal it but the damage was already done.
"Autumn-"
"No Seth, you need to do this. The doctor said that there's a chance you might be able to walk again with enough physical therapy. You have to at least try Seth, please." He gave me a long look before sighing. I grinned seeing him cave and brought him over to where the physiotherapist wanted him.
He struggled to stand up but with a little help, he was holding himself up with his hands on the two bars. He got angry, frustrated and angry again but by the end of the session he made progress. He managed to take two steps, it wasn't much but it was enough to give him hope.
"You just need time Seth." I said pushing him back through the pack house.
"Yeah, I know." He sighed. "Thanks Autumn, for not giving up on me."
"Please, it's the least I can do. Besides, you know you're my best friend, I'd do anything for you."
"Yea, ok. Now can you give me the ice cream?" I rolled my eyes but handed it to him anyway.
"So, you go back soon?" I asked bringing up the elephant in the room. As much as I wanted him too, he couldn't stay. His family was at our old pack and I knew he missed them.
"In two weeks." He nodded after swallowing the spoonful of chocolate ice cream. "But I'll be back, don't worry." He said smiling.
"I know but I like having you around. You're the only one who gets me and has been there for me my whole life. I know you have to go back to your family but you're my family too." When did I eat a tennis ball? It sure feels like I have one stuck in the back of my throat.
"Autumn, you're going to be fine. You have Jake now and Chad and Lucy. Ivan and Megan promised to visit too. Don't forget you still have Emma and Elle." I swallowed and nodded.
"I know but it's still awkward with Emma and Elle. I don't think things will ever be the same for some reason. I going to miss you."
"We still have two weeks until we have the messy goodbye." He smiled making me smile back. "Besides, what did your mum always used to tell you?"
"Every goodbye makes the next hello closer." I answered without hesitation smiling over at him.
"Exactly."
"-Happy when she found out." Lucy was in the middle of saying as she walked through the door with Chad.
"At least she knows you'll be safe." He smile down at her like a love struck puppy. She smiled back before noticing us in the room.
"Sorry, were we interrupting something?" She asked seeing my watery eyes.
"No, not at all."
"Ok, well Ivan and Megan both say hi and that they want to meet up soon." She said sitting down next Seth. "How did the session go?"
"Progressing slowly which is better then nothing."
"That's great man." Chad said slapping his shoulder lightly.
