Resisting Temptation

Chapter 12

"Autumn! Guess what?!" Lizzy said bouncing into my room.

"What?" I asked as she began jumping on my bed.

"It's Connor's birthday today." She said landing on her bum. I turned around and looked at her with raised eyebrows. "Are you going?" She asked.

"I don't think so. Emma and the girls are coming over here instead I think."

"Aw, I'm going to the party. It starts a 5 so mummy's letting me go." She grinned like a chesire cat.

"Good for you." I said looking at the time. "What time are you leaving?" I asked changing into my work clothes.

"Soon, Mummy offered to help the Luna with food."

"Lizzy! Say goodbye." Maisie shouted up.

"Bye!" Lizzy grinned hugging me before running out of the room. I shouted bye down to Maisie as I tied my hair in a bun before going to work.

"Look what I found in your aunty's cupboard." Emma said grinning while pulling a bottle whiskey from behind her back.

"Oh sweet jesus." Amy said banging her head on the table.

"What?" I asked and she lifted her head up again, her hair falling in her face. "Last time Emma got drunk, all she did was sing and chat random stuff like what would happen if you flushed a rabbit down the toilet?"

"More why would someone flush the rabbit down the loo?" Tiffany added laughing.

"Right." I said frowning and laughing at the same time. "Maybe I should take it off-or maybe not." I said going to take the bottle from Emma who already started drinking and slapped my hand away. At least no one else was in the diner, everyone was at Connor's party.

"So how long are you guys here for?" Tom asked Elle and Seth. I looked over at them and I could see them trying to find a reasonable answer.

"Not sure." Elle decided to say shrugging before sipping her hot chocolate. "But I could make it much longer if Ayla keeps giving me these hot chocolates." She sighed dreamily at her drink.

"Ayla?" Emma asked looking at her now half empty drink.

"She's a light drinker." Tiffany said shaking her head.

"Ayla, I thought her name was Autumn." Emma frowned in thought.

"It's a nickname." Seth laughed.

"Ohhhh. I like it." She said drinking some more. Oh I hope Maisie didn't have plans for that whiskey. "Hey, can we play music?" She asked stumbling over to the CD player. "Oh I love this song." She squeaked. Love song by Sara Bareilles came on she started dancing around the cafe.

"Oh. My. Goodness." Amy said banging her head on that table again whereas the rest of us laughed.

Not long after the bell signalled from the door and I wondered who it could be.

"Out!" Emma slurred. "Get out." She pointed but lost her balance and Elle quickly steadied her. I followed where she pointed and found Connor and Jake.....lovely.

"What is she on?" Connor asked raising his eyebrows watching as Elle tried to seat Emma who continued to glare at them.

"She found some whiskey in the back." I answered watching Emma wide eyed as she took another mouthful. "Okaaay...." I said coming from behind the counter and taking the nearly empty bottle from her. "I think you've had enough." I laughed as she pouted and reached for the bottle.
