"Hey, you ok? You never came back." Amy said when I took the seat next to her.

"Yeah, sorry. My friends decided to call me on their lunch break." I said throwing my bag on the floor by my feet.

"Ok, Emma started freaking out." She laughed. "She thought Scarlett had gotten to you or something." She had but I don't think me bragging about how I turned down her offer would help me. She'll only hate me even more, if that's even possible. "Heads up."

I turned to look at Amy who looked in the direction above before looking at me again. I frowned when she started looking at her work.

"Ook," I sighed recognising the voice. Ellis. "So, I know what you told me before, blah, blah, blah...but that doesn't change the fact that you're hot. Now, I know you know I'm hot and two people as good looking as us should maybe go out sometime." He said attempting and failing to flirt.

I started laughing, that line was seriously bad. He couldn't be serious. "Wait, you're serious?" I asked when he only raised his eyebrows. "Oh, right."

"So how about it?" He asked. Over his shoulder I caught a glimpse Jake, glaring at the back of Ellis's head with his fists balled under the table.

Now I could say yes to Ellis. Go out with him to make Jake jealous and boom, hopefully he'll want me as his mate. And as tempting as that sounded...I couldn't do it. It wasn't the right way and not the way I wanted at all.

"I think I'll pass." I said smiling at Ellis.

"Pass?" He asked shocked. "You'd seriously pass up on all this?" He said standing up to give me a better look.

"Yes." I could hear Amy trying to hold back her laughter next to me which only made me smile even more. The look on Ellis's face was priceless.

"No, wait. I get it, you have a mate right? That's why your turning me down." He said returning to his usual cocky self.

"Actually, I'm mateless. You've already asked me this." My chest felt so tight after saying those words. I honestly thought my ribs were caving in. Ellis lost his smirk again.

"Ok, class." The teacher said cutting off whatever Ellis was about to say. I smiled at him and shrugged my shoulders before he stomped off to his seat next to Jake.

I avoided eye contact at all times with Jake even though I could feel him watching me. I had goose bumps from my arms to my legs. I tried my best to ignore him and carry on with the work but when I had Ellis trying to get my attention as well, it was frustrating.

I heard Jake growl slightly when Ellis said certain things but he tried his best to cover it up. And I did my best to ignore the happy feelings knowing it bothered him.

I was walking towards my locker at the end of the day to put away the books I didn't need. Luckily I didn't have Jake nor Ellis in my last class, I did, however, have Connor and Emma.

I now know just how much the two of them love to annoy each other. I think they couldn't even go five minutes without throwing an insult. They were annoying. But, I still think there's more to it then this supposed hate.

"Jeeze Autumn." Emma huffed when she reached my locker. "You-you just..." She stopped and leaned back against the locker to catch her breath while I carried on putting away my books.

"You ok Emma?" I asked smiling.

"You just left." She said throwing her hand out infront of her. "Just left without me. I mean, I looked down to grab my bag and you were gone. And then Connor," She said his name while scrunching up her face. "Came over and started talking shit."
