I was sat in the living room on a three seated sofa by my self as Elle and Seth sat in the two seater on the opposite side of me. No one had spoken since I'd been pleased to see them and then them telling me to take a seat.
I looked between them getting more nervous by the minute from the silence. Elle had her lips pursed and looked at something to the side of her while Seth just tapped his foot on the floor not meeting my eyes. I think it was the longest time we'd gone without talking since we'd been friends.
I knew it was bad. Elle wasn't as excited as I was when I first saw her, it was like she was holding something back and that she wasn't just here to see me. There was more to this visit and it was something they weren't telling me.
I looked down at my hands. My fingers started twisting the ring around on my middle finger as all the possible things they could tell me went running through my head. Were they ok? Has something happened back home? Have one of them found their mate? I finally couldn't take the silence any longer.
"Ok, one of you please speak and tell me whats going on. You're killing me." I said looking up at them desperately. They both looked at me before turning to look at each other having some sort of silent conversation.
I let out a nervous breath as they continued having some argument. I ran a hand through my hair before Elle sighed and turn to face me again. She opened her mouth but said nothing before closing it again.
"Oh my gosh, spit it out!" I said frustrated and beginning to feel anxious. What the hell was going on? They both jumped from my sudden outburst.
"Ok, ok." Seth said sighing.
"Look, Autumn." Oh no. They only called me Autumn when they were mad, wanted to annoy me or when they were being absolutely serious.
"You know that my dad's a police man right?" Seth said and I nodded confused.
"Is your dad ok?" I asked quickly.
"Yes, yes he's fine." He said and I quickly relaxed.
"So?"
"You know how he's not allowed to work on cases that involve people he knows right?" He asked and I nodded again. "Well, the Alpha asked him to get all cases invloving his pack so they could go through them without humans interfering."
"What's this got to do with me though?" I asked when he paused. I had never gotten into trouble with the police before.
"Hunny, they came across the file about your parents car crash." Elle jumped in.
"What do you mean there was a file, it was an accident. Right?" I panicked putting my hand over my mouth shaking.
"I came across it myself after hearing my father talking to Alpha Benson." Seth said and I began to feel the hot wet tears falling down my face.
"It wasn't an accident was it?" I asked staring at the wall.
"No." Elle whispered.
"S-so what happened?" I asked looking at Seth.
"They found wolfs bane in their blood. Someone had put it in their drinks at the restaurant they were at. They only put in enough in to weaken their wolves and not enough to notice it. They also found several things wrong with car which would have caused them problems. Mix that with the wolfs bane which would have started kicking in a bit more and they would have crashed regardless but less serious."
"Wait, regardless of what?" I asked frowning.
"Regardless of the evidence that proves the other car ran them off the road on purpose. And," There was more? "Alpha Benson looked further into the case and passed it along to my dad and Peter to officially investigate it as a pack case. They think it invloves other wolves, rogues or another pack, we're not sure."
