Chapter 6:

(Harry's POV)

A lot has changed in these passing months, The city has gone into madness. 

*Flashback*

"Why" I shouted pushing Simon in the chest out of anger. This was over a month ago but a memory that made me who I am now. 

"What have I done now?" He said, his vampires surrounding us in a circle in a warehouse, the home of Simon and the vampires.

"Why have you told the witches it was me who ordered the hex on Ellie's mother?" I asked as Olly stood next to him to protect him.

"Because you will be the one in charge of all this" He said signaling the whole warehouse of vampires.

"What are you talking about?" I asked. 

"Leave us. All of you" Simon commanded making all the vampires leave the warehouse, including a reluctant Olly. I watched as they all left slowly as Simon shuffled in stance. Once they all left, I was about to carry on asking my many questions but he managed to beat me to it.

"I am dying Harold." he stated. I think he was expecting a different reaction from me but the reaction I gave him was one where I wasn't to bothered about his sudden comment.

"And what does that have to do with me?" I asked straight out.

"You were my apprentice for many years. You have learned what it takes for leadership. You have mastered the craft from myself. I know I can trust you, You were born a leader and I've seen you with the other boys. You make a clan a family. They need someone like you to lead them." He spoke. 

"I can't do that, I'm sorry but it's not my place. I'm not in a position at the moment to be a leader" I said backing away.

"There's still time for that to change." He said grinning.

*Flashback Over*

I ignored the flashback remembering the time where I knew I had to stand up and be something I didn't want, something I wasn't prepared for. Since then Cowell died and left me in charge, and things changed from there. The witches became unbearable so I had to do some damage control. But I made sure that no harm was done to Ellie or her mother and I tried to pass through the message that it wasn't me who pushed for the hex. But when I tried to keep a track of her, it was like she had fallen of the face of the earth, the witch we had couldn't locate her or sense any of her magic, it was like she had died. At first I thought it was because of the portal but when we had men go into the portal to kill the elders of the witches for conspiring against us vampires, she was spotted by one of my men. 

"Harry. The witches have gone too quiet. No magic is being done, no sign of them hovering around. Nothing." Olly said coming up to me telling me the latest updates as he usually does. 

"Send a couple of our men out into the portal to see what is happening" I said making him hurry off. I sat at the table where Louis and Niall were, Louis was reading a newspaper and Niall was looking through his phone whilst eating toast, with a glass of blood he would occasionally drink. 

"Have you heard the latest of Zayn? Gone of with that model whatever her name is" Louis said still with his head in the newspaper.

"I don't have time to focus on his extra curricular activities. What I do need is for you Louis to make sure the human faction are in order for tonight and for you Louis to find out who will be representing the witches faction." I said as I sat down organizing the files on table into the correct category. 

"Why don't you just kill all the witches already? they've caused so many issues." Niall said.

"Don't talk crap Niall" I stated as I could hear someone walking in, probably the party organizers for tonight. I stood up and welcomed the guests and led them to a room to talk about tonight. We had only just restored an abandoned mansion for the vampires and today is when we organised a party for all the supernatural beings to be welcomed and to restore peace and a treaty to make us all equals.

"So the theme is masquerade to make everyone equals. The color scheme will be black, white and red if that's okay. It goes well with the ball room in the mansion and staircase is beautifully lit up. It's all being prepared as we speak." She said presenting her ideas to me with a young teenager writing down everything she was saying for some reason.

"That works for me. Just make sure everything is ready before 6 because the guests will be arriving at 7:30 so no extensions." I said standing up insinuating for them to leave and that this meeting was done. She nodded and left with her teenage friend with me following them out of the room and back to the main room. 

"I need everyone to do their jobs right about now" I said walking up the open staircase showing my authority, making everyone including Louis and Niall get up to do their jobs for the day. As i got into my room, I pushed my hands through my hair out of stress and took a deep breath as I saw the picture of me and Ellie in the corner of my eye making me relax a little. I exhaled and carried on with my plan for the rest of the day trying to push her to the back of my mind.
