Chapter 12:

(Harry's POV)

It was the next day and bleeding one of my men dry interrogating him to find out the reasoning behind the kidnapping wasn't fun, in fact I felt bad but I needed information and this guy knew the answers I needed, and knowing him I know he wouldn't tell me straight away, so I needed some persuading. Taking the pencil out of his arm, I think everyone in the mansion heard his screams.

"It's pretty simple, just confess and then you can go without any strings attached." I stated twiddling the pencil in-between my fingers.

"He has a plan!" He roared. Without even noticing, Niall came in not looking good.

"Harry could I just talk to you out here for a moment?" he asked sounding awkward. I nodded before I stabbed the pencil in the victims thigh making him yelp out in pain.

"I'll let you think about telling the whole truth when I get back." I said before I walked out closing the door behind myself.

"What's up? Is it something that can wait? I asked a little agitated by his timing.

"Helen's gone." He stated.

"What do you mean gone? What? She was taken?" I asked wanting a little more than 'gone'

"She passed yesterday afternoon" He commented.

"Send Ellie flower's. Daisies. Give her my condolences." I replied looking on my phone to see if she had messaged me but I had nothing, but what was I kidding? She ran away from here yesterday, that clearly means she want's nothing to do with me, I can give her the space she probably wants.

"Is that it? Not how is she?" He asked not liking my response

"Okay... how is she?" I asked.

"Well I'm glad you asked, she's gone" He said before turning around. What?

"What do you mean gone?" I asked, my tone changing going into defensive mode.

"She's not dead, just ... gone. She's not at Nate's and the witches have tracked her pulse, but I said you will take it from there" He commented making me at ease again.

"Why?" I asked wondering why he would say that.

"She's on the hill" He spoke before walking away. Our hill more like. I grabbed a passing vampire and told him to make sure no one goes in or out of the room before I vampire sped to the bottom of the hill. I could hear her tears drop onto the blades of grass as I walked up the hill. Once she saw me, she decided on ignoring me but we both know that won't keep me away. She was sat crossed legs holding onto something tightly in her hands looking into the distance. I sat next to her also looking forward as I spoke.

"I'm sorry about Helen. She was a good woman. She didn't deserve what happened to her" I said giving her my condolences, getting them out of the way.

"Why are you here?" She asked still looking forward taking me aback a little but luckily I managed not to show it.

"Why are you?" I asked referring to the fact that she came here.

"Touché" she commented looking at me, her face showing no emotion. She looked at me as if she was looking for something or waiting for something, but the tension between us was speaking for itself. As a man, I looked away from her and looked straight ahead to avoid any future mishaps.

"So how is your wolf boy?" I asked distracting her.

"His name is Jake" She said not even denying that those two could be an item.

"Jake then." I stated correcting myself.

"How is your mystery blonde vampire?" She asked reflecting my questions. Mystery blonde vampire? Who?

"Non-existent" I said laughing at her comment confused about where that came from.

"She does, the vampire who was following you around at the gathering." She explained seeming genuine.

"Someone was following me around?" I asked feeling paranoid

"A group of women. They looked like cougars but if that's your type now ..." She said making me remember. A group of older vampires has been trying to get me on dates with them and I blew them off, I didn't realise they were following me around.

"Oh I know who you're on about. God no" I said laughing making her laugh. She looked down at her necklace that she revealed to me. It looked like some pendent that I've seen before but I couldn't trace it back to where I had seen it.

"Where did you get that?" I asked.

"My mother. Why?" She replied not triggering that memory.

"I've seen it before and not on Helen. Can I have a look at it?" I asked. She nodded and passed it to me. But as I touched it, it felt like I was being electrocuted and stung at the same time, therefore making it drop from my hands.

"Ow" I said.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"It's got jade vine in it" I said as she picked it up.

"What's that?" she asked examining the pendent.

"It's a vine that puts vampires in pain. It's like getting electrocuted and stung. It hurts basically." I explained as I watched her with it just in case.

"Interesting" She said sounding devious before pretending to drop it on me, making her laugh. We both ended up looking at the pendent when we both heard the lightening from above us. We looked up at the same time, and then looked at each other. The tension between us in a way too much
