(Ellie's POV)

I sat outside in the forest by my home watching the fire grow when Jake approached me from behind. Instead of asking what I was doing and how it went with Harry, he respectfully sat down next to me on the same log and waited for me to talk. I didn't know how he was, hurting I guessed but I think I needed to ask. I wanted to know how it went when he went down to the vampires, I know I shouldn't have let him go but if that was his was of grieving but it was a move of war.

"How did I go?" I asked turning my head to look at him. I only noticed that his face was covered in black blood as well as his clothes and hands. I watched as he cleaned himself off with a cloth as he spoke.

"They're all dead." He stated not flinching at all. Once he had cleaned himself up and sorted himself out, I glared at the fire as he threw the cloth in it making the fire bun up higher for a second.

"What did you end up doing to Harry?" He asked obviously curious.

"I gave him a fate worse than death." I said turning my head to him.

"Mortality." I said carrying on the rest of my sentence. He took my hand from my lap and brought it to his lips, kissing it briefly.

"We will be okay right?" I asked referring to us as a couple.

"Until the end." He said. I turned my body and rested my forehead on his, wanting to kiss him but not too sure it would be the right time. Breathing in and feeling the intensity of the moment, when we heard rustling, we both immediately turned to that direction. We both stood up taking each other's hand.

"Ellie? Jake?" Anna and Laura both shouted like they were looking for us.

"Girls?" I asked as they spotted us and made their way through the branches.

"You need to listen right now, we have just spoken to the ancestors of the witches, Ellie it wasn't Harry who killed Lucca. It was Gabrielle your doppelganger." Laura explained but before I could say anything, Anna interrupted and carried on.

"Yeah yeah we know she's dead but she was resurrected. The ancestors, they've got a plan. Unfortunately Lucca was a part of that plan. And you retaliating to Harry the way that you did. You are just doing their bidding."

"Hold up, you have a doppelganger? And that doppelganger killed our son? " Jake asked.

"Had a doppelganger, she died." I stated before Anna butted in.

"And now she's alive and doing the ancestors dirty work to make sure she stays alive permanently." Anna spoke.

"Why are they doing all this?" Jake asked.

"The ancestor who is controlling the others ... its Ophelia." Laura answered a little reluctantly.

"She's making it so you're the last living royal blood witch. She's going to kill you." Anna stated.

"Who? That witch on your dad's side?" Jake asked trying to put the pieces together. I nodded feeling even more guilt about Lucca's death, not only had I punished the wrong person and probably started a war between the factions but also my family line has killed my child, Jake's child.

"That's not only it, now you have made Harry human, Gabrielle has probably given him this vile. It contains the blood of a vampire and a witch, guys if he were to take it he would be pretty much invincible." Anna explained giving us more details about recent events.

"The only catch is that he will be compelled to kill you Ellie if he takes it." Laura carried on.

"What happens if we catch him?" Jake asked like he was preparing himself.

"That's what we're kind of asking you two to do." Laura said. I looked up at Jake who was looking down at him.

"We're in" he answered for the both of us. I looked at the girls who looked happy with his answer.

"You'll need to get going soon, he's probably got it by now" Anna said before her and Laura walked away from us. I took a step away still processing all the information that I was told.

"Are you alright?" he asked noticing my off reaction

"No." I replied honestly keeping my hands on my waist.

"My doppelganger killed our son and is being forced to follow a plan by my dead evil relative, my ex is undoubtedly going to take the thing that is going to kill me, and you're having to turn knowing that each turn is one step closer to thing you don't want to become." I explained ranting on about just a few issues that were on my mind.

"For starters, don't worry about me, I'm going to be okay. Secondly, Harry is not going to get that chance, I'll make sure of it. And finally, Lucca is safe now. Okay? He's with your folks, he'll be fine. It hurts right now, trust me I'm feeling the same way but I plan to seek my grief in thought of hurting the people who have hurt him." He explained. He stroked his hand through my hair before kissing me momentarily.

"I love you." I said as we took in the second of bliss.

"I love you too" He said back to me. I took his hand as we left the forest back into the village. When I became pregnant with Lucca, Jake and his pack had surprised me along with my coven by creating a village on the outskirts in the countryside where we could all lived together. It was the idea that made me happy, the two factions coming together to become one. Looking at the village remembering the memories, it felt like home. That was until I saw Harry in the middle of the street holding up the vile.

"Harry." Jake growled.
