Chapter 10:
(Harry's POV)
The next day, I tried to get things back to normal by keeping the vampires in check. I even took into consideration what Ellie had said. I made sure the witches weren't being closely watched, they were still being watched but at a distance so they could be more free.
"Are you sure you're doing this for the right reasons?" Niall asked taking some paper work from my hands as he spoke about the witches.
"Just because she is the leader of the witches, it doesn't mean it changes things around here. She asked for the witches to have some space, i'm giving her that space." I explained as I categorized some crap that Simon didn't do.
"Okay, but remember just because you two dated doesn't mean she can get anything she wants" Niall warned before walking out the room. I understood that he wants to protect me in a brotherly sort of way and I knew what he was saying was true but I didn't want to hear it. I was only being nice to the witches because of how I behaved yesterday: Stupidly cocky as Louis had put it. As Niall left the room, Louis came in asking a million and one questions.
"Hey, have you seen Liam today? I can't find anywhere and he was meant to meet me for a bite but he never showed." Louis asked
"No sorry. I've not seen him since last night" I said looking up from what I was doing.
"Really? I thought he was coming here this morning because he had a proposal he wanted to run through with you for some building" He explained, making me remember Liam mentioning this last night. Once I sorted out the papers, I saw Louis look a bit anxious.
"I'll look into it Louis. Because that doesn't sound right" I said getting out my phone. Once I opened it however, I saw a lot of messages and missed calls from Ellie.
"But right now I've got to take a call." I said as I walked away from him to call her back. She answered the phone straight away.
"Ellie what's with all the calls and texts?" I asked but getting hushed.
"Look, I need you to listen to me I've not got a lot of time. Someone's got me. I don't know who it is but I know where I am." She said sounding worried. A nerve struck inside of me, something I hadn't felt in a long time and it suddenly made me turn on my feet towards the exit of the house.
"Okay hold on. Text me the address and i'll be there in five" I said practically running.
"Harry." She said stopping me
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Thank you" She whispered before hanging up. I walked through the main doors ignoring Louis calling after me, completely distracted by the phone call. I saw the text from her come through as Louis caught up with me.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"Ellie's in trouble" I stated yet again.
"Again? Shocker" He said sarcastically.
"I'm off" I said walking away.
"I'll help you" He said following after me.

We sneaked through the back entrance of a familiar house and saw a few vampires that come round the mansion.
"Harry ... wh-what are yo-you doing here?" The vampire stuttered knowing he had been caught doing something he shouldn't
"Hiding something are we?" I asked before twisting his neck sharply with him falling to the floor. We walked past his body and carried on through the house. Once we walked into the living room, from the outside it was strange to see how big the room actually was.
"Harry." A familiar face spoke up. Nathaniel Clayton. Clever, vindictive and arrogant. He had always got want he want, when he wanted money he got it, when he wanted to start a business, he became a success, when he wanted to live forever, he became a vampire. Our paths met in a meeting when I first became in charge and he made a point of me leaving his business alone and he wouldn't start any trouble. But he was cocky and loved himself a little too much.
"Nathaniel." I spoke up. I smelt the blood on his hands as the distinctive smell filled my nose.
"What bring's you here?" He asked taking a cloth from the side of a table to wipe his hands clean with it.
"Just looking for someone. It's not important. A little witch" Louis spoke up trying to play it cool.
"I do happen to have the leader of the witches. Pretty little thing." He said turning around to put the cloth down. It touched a nerve when he mentioned her, the blood on his hands made me put up a front.
"We kind of need her at the moment." I stated crossing my arms.
"Well as you can see she is indisposed at the moment, is there any chance you need her alive?" He asked raising his hands to show his blood stained hands. I felt Louis's arm hold me back from doing anything reckless.
"Yes" I said strongly and a little to grisly saying that I was trying to play it cool.
"Sorry but we agreed. You don't interfere with my business and I won't start any trouble. And unfortunately boys this is part of my business." He said as some other vampires who work for Nate in his company.
"Tough" I said before I vampire sped in front of him and twisted his neck.
"I'd say we have fifteen minutes to get Ellie out and safe." I said grinning at Louis deviously which was returned by him.
