Chapter 23:
(Ellie's POV)
As the music begun to play, I was left alone to walk down the aisle as this was requested by the wolf elder as part of the ceremony. It's meant to symbolise something to do with the bride coming into this marriage or something, they told me about it but I forgot. Laura came out and told me to come in now. I took a deep breath in as I entered a room of around a 100 people staring at me waiting for me in anticipation. I walked in nervously looking up straight at Jake who was smiling. I smiled back as I walked until I reached him, he took my shaky hand and I could feel my his reaction he was feeling the same as me, and for some reason that relaxed me. We both looked at the wolf elder and the witch elder who were holding books, the witch dressed in black as the wolf wore cream, both wearing the same red sash.
"We are all gathered here today to watch the bonding ritual of Ellie Dunson and Jake Huntsman." The wolf spoke up.
"The binding of a witch and wolf is a special gift to both communities. It is the binding of the packs and the covens ensuring peace and equality in both lands." The witch spoke. I looked up at Jake who was looking at me.
"Witnessing this marriage all of you today will also state that the marriage is supported and wanted. So Jake and Ellie." The wolf said taking the hands in which me and Jake were holding on to each other, as the witch picked took off her sash and tied it around our clutched hands. As the witch then spoke, she handed over the bonded hands and tied her own red sash as well.
"Bonding your joined hands is a symbol of your future marriage. The red sash is the blood of you both becoming one. And the vows are the words that show your true feelings." She said basically telling us to say our vows. I turned to Jake and began first.
"I know we've not known each other for long. And a lot of the people here have said it's rushed and too soon. But for me it's not. I was originally marrying you for the coven and the pack. That's not my reason anymore. My reason is because I really like you. And even if we had known each other for longer and gotten to know each other. I know we would be right here anyway, but in the future instead of now. I want to marry you because each day I'm falling for you." I said.
"A month ago, if someone were to tell me I would have to step up and become an alpha and I would be getting married to not only a witch but an amazing woman, I would have told you to jog on. I'm not going to lie I was lost, I didn't know what I was going to do with my life but when I met you, it all fell into place. You helped me confront my demons, you challenged me to do things, you calm me down when I go crazy and it's you who I would want to marry. If that's alright with you?" He asked making the crowd behind us laugh.
"Yeah I'd like that" I commented.
"Now, will the rings come forward please" The wolf said as she untied the sashes from our hands. I reluctantly let go of his hand as the rings were brought and given to us. I looked up at Jake who gently took my hand and slowly started to put the ring on as we spoke the traditional vows.
"This ring is the symbol of our commitment, our trust, our love, our peace, our hope." He said as I took his hands and spoke my vows.
"Our united front, our faith, our faction and our bound" I said carrying on the vows as I let go of his hand.
"By the power of the ancestors, the wolves and the witches we here pronounce you man and wife." the witch spoke.
We looked into each other's eyes knowing full well that the vows we had just taken were actually a true representation of how we were feeling. Gazing, we waited for the clarification to tell us we could have our first kiss.
"Jake. You can kiss your bride now." The wolf said, and before I could even react, he had manages to slip his hand around my waist to pull me in to kiss him. When our lips met, I felt a strange spark like the chemistry between us had been built up so much that it was uncontrollable. The sounds of the audience and the clapping started to fade in as we separated, taking his hand in mine interlocking our fingers as we turned to leave. We walked back down the aisle out of the room, allowing me to catch my bearings of what I just did. I just got married. I actually got married. Feeling overjoyed and slightly shocked, I turned to Jake as we both laughed a little. I placed my hands on his face as he pulled me in by my waist. Leaving our foreheads resting on each other's taking in the moment, he spoke up.
"I don't know how but you changed me Mrs Huntsman." He said making me grin before I went in to kiss him, getting absorbed and involved in the moment.
