Phoebe's POV

I woke up, my eyes feeling like concrete and I let out a groan of pain as my head was absolutely throbbing. I tried to stand up, but then I realised I couldn't move my arms. My eyes snapped open and I looked down and saw that  my wrists were taped tightly to a chair and I felt my heartbeat start to accelerate.

What happened?

Where am I?

Why am I tied to a chair?

Then it hit me like a stone brick.

I remember Alex chasing me, both of us falling down the stairs and him knocking me out. Before I could even react, a bright light was turned on in the room and I had to shut my eyes tightly as the sudden brightness made my headache even worse.

I slowly opened one eye and I saw Alex standing over beside the light switch, leaning up against the wall, his arms folded.

"You're seeming to cause more trouble than I like Phoebe." He said and I swallowed, starting to feel bile rise in my throat. He placed his hands flat against the wall and pushed himself from it and he came towards me. He lowered himself down to the level of the chair, placing his hands on his knees. I felt my blood start to run cold and I turned my face away from him, but he grabbed my chin, forcing me to look back at him.

"I really want it to work for us, I do." He said and my breathing started to accelerate and I tried to get my chin out of his tight hold but he was too strong.

"But you're too anxious tonight." He said, releasing me and walking away.

"Anxious? Seriously?" I shouted out to him and he stared back at me as he walked to the other side of the room and he arrived at a small dresser. He opened a drawer and he pulled out an injection out of the drawer.

"What is that?" I whispered, my heart skipping a beat.

"It's exactly what you think it is." He said, starting to walk back over to me with it.

"When you wake up, this will all be over and we can move on with our lives." He said and he positioned the needle over my arm.

"No, please don't do it, Alex!" I shouted, my voice rising several octaves as I started to panic more and more.

I needed to act.

Now.

I quickly looked down and realised that my feet weren't tied so I mustered all my remaining strength and I kicked my feet into his stomach, making him drop the injection, stumble away from me and fall to the ground. I threw the chair backward, with me still on it and landed on it sideways, making one of the arms of the chair break, freeing my right arm.

"You bitch!" Alex  yelled out and I stood up, turning around, narrowly missing the injection that he had aimed for my shoulder. I swung the remaining part of the chair around that was still tied to my left arm and brought it down on top of him, which smashed over his head and also caused him to drop the injection again this time the glass vial of it smashing and its contents spilling out. I then saw that my left arm was then free and then I started to run for the door, but Alex scrambled off the ground and was right behind me.

I ran up a short flight of stairs to the door and I slammed it shut before he could reach me and I saw there was a deadbolt so I slid it across. I heard him shouting profanities at me and slamming his body weight against the door.

"Come back here and open this door!" He yelled, as I heard him throwing his body against the wood of the door.

I started to run and I saw that we must have been downstairs because I was back facing the large marble staircase. Then, I heard a bang and I turned around just in time to see Alex break down the door and run straight for me. I screamed and started to run for the stairs, but hearing Alex close behind me.

As I got to the top of the staircase I ran for the closest bedroom but before I could get through Alex grabbed my arm, trying to pull me back out.

"No!" I yelled and I grabbed the door, swinging it shut onto him and he yelled in pain, falling to the ground and I kicked him in the stomach and he rolled away from the door, clutching his stomach and I closed the door, locking it and running the side of the room and pushing a dressing table up towards the door.

I heard him get off the ground from outside and I heard him trying to get into the room again.

"Phoebe! Open this door right now! Do as I say and I won't hurt you... much." He said and I whipped my head around the room, trying to find something to defend myself with, but there was nothing.

I ran over to the window, unlocking the bolt and pushing it open, looking behind me when I heard a bang and saw Alex had broke off the lock and now was trying to push back the dressing table.

"Shit." I whispered to myself and I stood on the ledge and then I pushed myself out of the window. I hot the ground with a sickening bang and the wind left my body. I willed myself to move and managed to get myself onto all fours.

I looked back up at the window, but couldn't see Alex. I should have thought that would have been a good sign but something in my gut told me this was bad. I got onto my feet and I sprinted towards the edge of the forest, but I heard gunshots coming from the forest and I had no choice to turn around and I run back to the house.

I sprinted down the back of the house and I saw a door that was slightly ajar, looking like someone had recently been through it. But, I heard another gunshot go off and I pushed myself through the door, shutting it and sliding the deadbolt across it.

Turning around, and placing my back against the door, I saw that this was some type of garage as there were lots of cars parked in it. I went past the rows of cars and saw that all of their tyres were slashed.

Then it hit me that these are the guests car. They wanted to make sure that even if we did survive this far and wanted to escape, they were making sure we couldn't.

I ran down to the back of the garage and I saw a car that didn't have its tyres slashed. My heartbeat accelerated as I got into the driver's seat and I looked in the interior of the car for the keys. I lifted down the sun visors and a set of keys fell down onto my lap. I stuck the keys into the ignition and the car roared to life.

I turned around in the seat and looked behind me to see that there was a roller door, made of thin metal it looked like. If I got enough acceleration I could get the car to back out and I could get out of this hell.

I heard a clang of metal in the garage somewhere and I held my breath, the only sound was the sound of the engine still running. I started to place the car into gear when something broke the driver's window and a hand wrapped around my hair and I felt someone pull the keys from the ignition.

"Found you, Phoebs." Alex whispered in my ear and he slipped a hand down to my arm and in a quick movement he pulled me out of the car window. I felt shards of glass start to tear at my dress and my skin and I fell onto the concrete floor.

He grabbed both my arms again, pulling me up and pushing me out of the garage and back into the house.

"We are going for plan B." He said and I kept trying to dig my heels into the ground as he dragged me down the corridor.

"What do you mean?" I asked and he sighed, a smile coming onto his face.

"First, you are going to regret that you ever tried to escape and second, we are going to use you as bait. My men can't seem to find your boyfriend, but I'm sure if you are in any kind of danger, he would come running to the rescue." He said and we both froze as we heard a voice behind us.

"You're damn right about that."

Alex spun around, pulling with me and at the door of the garage, I saw Michael standing there, with a gun pointed at Alex. He had various cuts and bruises but he was alive.

He was alive.

"Now let her go and I won't pump your body full of lead." He said, loading a bullet into the gun and raising it to aim and Alex's chest.
