Luke's POV
We had ran through the woods and stopped because the trees where getting denser, the branches starting to scrape our bare skin and catch on our clothing.
We stopped, catching our breaths and I felt Grace collaspe against me.
"Grace!" I said, catching her and she shook her head, taking deep breaths.
"I'm okay... I just need a minute." She said, taking ragged breaths through her mouth.
"Guys we need to stop a minute." I called out to the others and they walked back over to me and Grace.
Daisy was shaking, huddling into Ashton's chest.
"Are you cold?" He asked her quietly, and she nodded and he took off his jacket, wrapping it around her arms.
"Guys, I need to get back to the house." Michael said and I let my breath out slowly through my nose.
"Michael, you will never get back there alive. We don't even know if Calum and Annie are still alive." I said and Michael sighed, rubbing his hands over his face.
"This shouldn't be happening... it's like we are in some kind of shitty horror movie." Michael said and I closed my eyes momentarily.
If we went back for Phoebe, it would be suicide. By what Michael had told me, the Alex guy was still obsessed with her, so maybe he wouldn't hurt her.
But was I right?
Were Calum and Annie dead?
My head was saying yes, there was no way they could have survived the gunmen who were after us.
But another part of me was telling me that we have done well to survive this far... and maybe we could get them out.
"Guys... I have a stupid idea." I said and they all looked at me.
"We go back with Michael and get Calum and Annie as well." I said and Ashton narrowed his eyes at me.
"I thought you said there was no point?" He said and I shrugged.
"We can't leave them Ashton." I said quietly and Ashton's jaw clenched and then he sighed.
"We're good as dead anyway... we might as well." Ashton said and and I closed my eyes.
We were really going to do this.
"Wait... I have a gun." Michael said, bringing it out of his pocket.
"Where the fuck did you get a gun?" I asked him and Michael shrugged.
"Back in the dining hall, when the guy was going to scatter your brains across the carpet and I tackled him to the ground, I grabbed his gun." He said and I felt like slapping him.
"You've had a gun this whole time and you didn't stop to think this would useful information to tell any of us?" I said and Michael rolled his eyes.
"Well excuse me that I didn't stop to tell you that I had a gun when we were running for our fucking lives." He said and I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose.
"First thing is first, we need to get more guns." Ashton said and we all looked at him.
"And how do you suppose we do that?" Michael asked and I nodded in agreement.
Ashton stared at us and sighed, rubbing a hand over his forehead.
"Okay, here's what I think we should do..." He said and started to explain his plan to us.
But after this, all hell broke loose.
Calum's POV
I had felt my eyes drooping, but I pinched the back of my hand, trying to keep myself awake.
Whether it was the loss of blood, or something else but I was becoming very tired.
Annie's head was rested against my chest and I wrapped my arms around her again, hugging her tightly.
"What are we going to do, Calum?" Annie whispered.
I didn't answer, my eyes starting to feel like concrete and I felt myself drifting off to sleep.
"Calum?" She said a little louder, and I felt my eyes snap open and I nodded, squeezing her again.
"Don't worry, babe, I'm not going anywhere." I said and I pinched the inside of my hand, trying to wake myself up more.
I looked around and sighed, resting my forehead on the back of Annie's hair.
"We need to move." I whispered and swallowed.
"If someone finds us up here, we will be like sitting ducks." I said and Annie nodded.
I shifted my postion and reached out for a tree branch, gripping on to it tightly.
"I'll go down first, and then I'll call for you to come down." I said and Annie nodded.
I moved myself off the branch and started to climb down, trying my best to ignore the pain in my arm.
I reached the bottom and looked around quickly, before calling up for Annie to come down.
I watched her climb down and I caught her by her waist, lifting her down from the rest of the tree.
I groaned out in pain and Annie reached forward.
"We need to get out of here and get you to a hospital." She whispered and I shook my head.
"We need to find the others." I said and Annie looked at the ground.
"What if-" Annie started to say but I shut her off.
"Don't. I can't think like that Annie... they are all going to be okay." I said and she nodded. I grabbed her hand, keeping her close to me and we walked cautiously into the woods.
"Where would they be?" I heard Annie ask and I shrugged, pulling her closer to me.
We had been walking for a long time, every so often coming across a body that was lying on the grounds. Each time I saw one, I had to swallow down the bile that rose in my throat.
Then, from behind us, we heard feet running towards us. I immediately put an arm round Annie's waist and pulled her backwards behind a tree.
I looked around from behind the tree and I was shocked at who I saw running past.
It was Michael, Grace and Daisy.
Although, Grace was bleeding, a wound in her stomach and she was supported by Michael and Daisy.
"Guys!" I yelled, running out from behind the tree.
"Calum! Annie!" Michael yelled, lowering Grace to the ground. I ran over, dropping to my knees beside Grace and Annie followed me.
"What happened?" I said, looking dowm at Grace. Michael had his jacket pressed down on a wound on her stomach which was bleeding heavily. Her face was pale, she was shaking and it looked like she was struggling to keep her eyes open.
"Grace got shot... we got ambushed and I don't know what happened to Ashton and Luke... we don't even know if they are alive. Michael grabbed Grace and I and tried to pull us away and that's when she got injured." Daisy cried, tears staining her cheeks.
"Hey, we'll be okay." Annie said to Daisy, hugging her tightly.
Then, we heard a twig snap and all our heads whippped round to see two men standing with guns pointing towards us.
"Well, well, well... what do we have here?" One of them said, loading a bullet into his gun.
