Annie's POV

"State your full name please, Annie." The doctor said sitting opposite me. The disposable cup of coffee he had placed in my hands was starting to shake.

"Annie Reynolds." I stuttered out and he typed it into his computer.

"Okay, Annie, says here your mother is your next of kin - would you like her here with you?" He asked, and I nodded. He gave me a small smile and stood up.

"I'll go do that now. You can stay here and rest." He said, leaving the office.

I placed the coffee on the table beside me, resting my head in my hands.

As soon as the police got us out of the gas station, they took Luke away in an ambulance, saying that he would need surgery on his leg. My injuries weren't as severe, a few stitches here and there.

I heard the door open and the doctor walked back in.

"Your mother is coming to be with you now, Annie." He said and I nodded.

"Is Luke okay?" I asked and he showed me a smile.

"Is he the boy you came in with?" He said and I nodded, again.

"Yes, he'll be fine, I'd imagine he will be on crutches for a few weeks, but you kids are incredibly lucky."

Lucky? That's certainly not how I felt. Sure we survived, but everytime I have closed my eyes, all I see are my friends deaths being replayed in front of me.

"There are police officers wanting to talk to you - would you rather wait until your mother is here?" He asked, and I nodded.

About thirty minutes past, and the door to the doctor's office flew open and I saw my mother come running in. I stood, and she threw her arms around me.

"Oh, Annie, my poor girl. What did they do to you?" She asked, cupping my face in her hands.

I felt the tears that I had been holding back since I arrived in hospital start to fall, and I pulled her in to hug me again.

My mom sat with me, as the police officers came in.

"We're here to ask you a few questions Miss Reynolds. We will be asking the same ones to Mr Hemmings when he is well enough to talk to us."

I nodded once and I felt my Mom's fingers intertwine with my own.

"Who did you go to the party with last night?" The first officer asked and I swallowed.

"My friends, and boyfriend. Eight of us in total." I said quietly, staring at the floor, not daring to look anywhere else.

"And there was only you and Mr Hemmings made it out, yes?" The second officer said, and I felt my Mom stiffen up beside me.

"Annie?" She said, and I turned to her, her eyes filling with tears.

"They're all dead. Mom, Calum, he... he..." I tried to find the words, but the got mixed up in my sobs.

My Mom pulled me into her, and I cried loudly.

"They killed him! They killed Calum, he was only protecting me, he should have just stayed where he was!" I cried and Mom squeezed me tighter.

"Maybe we should leave the questioning for another time." The first officer said, and I heard them leave and close the door.

"I'm so sorry, darling." Mom whispered and I hiccuped, pulling back.

"It was a setup. It was a plan to kill as many people as possible... Grace died first, then Daisy, Calum, Ashton, Michael, Phoebe... Mom they're all dead... I'm never going to see them again... I- I..." I couldn't finish my sentence as more tears poured down my cheeks.
