Maddie opened the door to her room for me and we sat on her pink bed.

"Hey, talk to me. What happened?" She asked as she grasped my shoulder eagerly. I turned to look at her still sniveling. "Lucas. H--he was drunk a-and he....that asshole!" She sighed and continued. "What did he do?"

I continued to weep and answered, "He drank so much and...and I tried to take him home but he...he shoved me hard to the wall! He's such a--" Before I could finish, Maddie cut me off. "jerk, dick, asshole? I figured. Boys will be boys, but you've gotta give him another chance."

I looked down as I sniveled and wiped my tears away. "You think Brandon has never done mistakes like that too? He's done it loads of times. And remember, you told me that I should give him another chance, you should too." She added letting out a warm smile. "Call him, Ruby."

I mumbled an okay as I darted across the room and reached for my phone in my bag when it rang and stunned us both. I looked at the screen to see Lucas calling. I groaned and glanced at Maddie who was giving me a wide smile. And so I picked up, clutching my chest to calm the thudding.

"Hello?" I spoke with anxiety, sadness, and maybe a tiny hint of happiness coming from my voice.

"Hey, it's me babe."

My heart rose to my throat hearing his deep voice reverberating from the other end of the line. "Yeah I know it's you Lucas."

"Areeee... you okay?"

"I'm okay." I assured him. I was concerned about him, he sounded terrible and sleepy. "Are you?"

"I feel amazing."

"Lucas, where are you? Are you home?"

"I'm in paradise." He said with his voice cracking.

"Uhh." I could hear him gulping from the other line. That dumbass is still drinking.

"Dammit Lucas. Call me when you're fucking sober!" I hung up the phone and sighed in relief. I turned to Maddie who was giggling while lying on the bed. I raised an eyebrow when she began, "My God, I can't believe he's still drunk. Feel better?" I shrugged. "I guess so. But I'm still kinda mad at him." She smiled and nodded. "You're welcome!" I muttered a thankyou and darted across the room to the bed.

"Come on, let's clean up. You can borrow my clothes." Maddie said. We dragged ourselves to the closet and grabbed some clothes. Maddie grabbed a blue Gap tee and a pair of grey sweats for her. She then grabbed a pastel pink v-neck tee and white shorts for me and we both headed to the bathroom to clean ourselves up.

"Uhh I feel so fresh now." I said  flicking my wet hair backwards after the warm shower. "It's only 9, let's watch movies!" I added after looking at the clock.

Maddie nodded when she dashed across the room and grabbed her laptop from her desk. We both jumped on top of the bed and slid in the comforter as Maddie placed her laptop above it.

"Okay, so what movie?" She asked as she scrolled down the lists of movies on the screen. I spotted Star Wars on the list and begged, "Star Wars! Let's watch Star Wars please please please can we watch Star Wars?" I'm a HUGE fan of Star Wars. Star Wars is my life.

Maddie groaned, "Ugh, no way. You know I hate Star Wars." I rolled my eyes and spat, "How do you hate it when you've never even watched it?" She shrugged. "Dunno, I guess it doesn't look too appealing to me." I gasped and shook my head. "Well too bad for you, we're watching it and you'll immediately love it." Maddie giggled and muttered an 'okay'.

I clicked on the Star Wars movie list and played the Star Wars: The Phantom Menace which is the first movie.

The movie was playing through the scene where Qui-Gon and
Obi-Wan first met Anakin when Maddie asked, "Wait, so where's the hot guy you kept talking about? Anna-something Skyguy?" I chuckled. "You mean Anakin Skywalker? That's him over there still a kid." I pointed at the nine year old Anakin and she nodded. "Hayden Christensen isn't coming till the second movie." I added. She let out an oh and we continued watching the movie.

Hours passed and the movie was finally over. I looked over to Maddie and asked, "So did you enjoy this masterpiece?" She giggled and nodded. I cheered and added. "Let's go on for the second movie. Please please please." She rolled her eyes and nodded. I cheered again and clicked Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

"I'm glad you're happy, Ruby."

I turn my gaze from the opening crawl to Maddie who was smiling. I smiled as well. "Me too. Thanks Maddie." She nodded and we continued watching the movie.

"Wait, is that the grown up Anakin?" Maddie asked as she pointed at Hayden Christensen aka Anakin. I nodded and giggled. "You're totally right, he's fucking gorgeous." We both burst into laughter as I added. "But he's going to turn to the dark side... as Darth Vader..." I saw Maddie's eyes widened and she punched my arm playfully. "Oops sorry hahah." She rolled her eyes as we continued the movie until it ended at past midnight.

"Woo, that was awesome, Ruby. I admit, Star Wars is amazing." She exclaimed. I clapped both my hands in excitement. Wait till you watch the rest of the movies ;) "Told you so! We're watching the rest of the saga soon." We both giggled as Maddie turned her laptop off and placed it on the nightstand. We pulled the comforter over our bodies as we began to sleep. A part of me wished Lucas was here with me too.

*****

"Wakey wakey."

I sat up and moaned. I rubbed my eyes and opened them lazily and when my eyes finally adjust, I saw Maddie sitting next to me. "Uh, what time is it?" I asked stretching my arms and yawning.

"It's only 10:30 but come downstairs for breakfast, my family wants to see you." She explained.

"Oh, then I should shower first."

She nodded and left the room. I hopped off the bed, grabbed the clothes I wore yesterday when I came here before the party and sprinted to the bathroom.

After I was finished, I slipped onto my panda printed sweater, blue jeans, black ankle boots and headed downstairs. I headed to the dining room to find Maddie, both her parents and older sister, Heather sitting around the dining table. I stepped inside and was greeted happily by them.

"Good morning sweetheart. Please, have breakfast." Mrs. Moore greeted. "Good morning, thankyou so much Mrs. Moore." I replied, taking a seat next to Heather.

A delicious plate of English breakfast was settled in front of me. Everyone was eating their food in silence when Heather elbowed me and whispered a 'hi'. I flashed her a smile and whispered back. Heather is exactly like Maddie but a taller and older version and instead of curly blonde hair, she has straight blonde hair. Maddie and her parents were chatting so I decided to start a conversation with Heather.

"So what brings you here?" I asked curiously. Heather is seven years older than Maddie and she had a job over at California. "Not much, I just wanted to visit my family. I won't be leaving until next week."

"Cool! We could hang out like old times."

She giggled and we continued to eat our breakfast. She was like a sister to me.

"Thanyou for having me here Mr. and Mrs. Moore." I said as we walked out the dining room after finishing breakfast. "That's alright Ruby, now Heather will drive you home." Mr. Moore explained.

Heather and I went outside the house and we stepped inside the family's car. I sat at the passenger's seat while she drove me home.

"Bye Ruby!"

I waved back at Heather who was now driving away. I walked to the front door to find it unlocked. That's weird, I remember locking it yesterday.

I stepped inside slowly and looked around.

"Hello? A-anyone here?" I obviously assumed Lucas was here.

"Hey Ruby." A deep familiar voice called from another room. He stepped outside and revealed himself to me.

it's just him...
