Chapter 10

The leaves of autumn have started to fall, it was nearly the end of September. It's been more than a month since I first met Lucas.

It was a Friday afternoon after school and I was at Lucas' house.

"You know, you don't have to come here everyday. I told you the schedule last month." Lucas said with a sigh. "But I wanted to see you." Lucas smiled, "alright, come on in."

I sat on the couch. Lucas brought in some of his mom's scrumptious pastries and gave them to me. After a couple of minutes, I finished them all.

"Let's go out." Lucas said. I agreed. I put on my green coat and my grey beanie and went outside.

The weather outside was chilly. It was windy like crazy! We were walking on the sidewalk when suddenly Lucas cast a spell on my beanie and it flew up above my head.

"Hey, stop that!" I squeaked. "If you want it, come and get it!" Lucas put on the beanie and he ran along the road. I chased after him.

We were running around like little kids. I started to get impatient, Lucas was laughing hard. He finally stopped running. He stopped under a tall maple tree near his house. The maple tree had beautiful orange-reddish leaves falling from the branches.

Lucas shouted, "hey Ruby! Come here and get your beanie! Don't you want it?"

I ran towards Lucas and tried to get my beanie back by jumping. Lucas lifted my beanie high and I couldn't get it. Lucas had a tall and firm body sp it was difficult for me to reach my beanie. He raised my beanie up high. "Lucas! Give it back!"

He finally lowered the beanie and put it onto my face and it covered my eyes. I tried to take it off but surprisingly.....

Lucas pressed his body over and moved his lips to mine. My chest was beating fast, this happens every time I kiss him. I made a soft moaning sound. I could feel his warm breathing and I could feel his soft lips touching. He played around a little with his tongue. His hands touched my cheeks and he moved them downwards. It finally made its way to my neck. The kiss lasted for..... 15 seconds. (I time my kisses. I know, I'm weird XD)

I finally took off my beanie. Lucas cast a spell on the maple tree and more leaves started to fall. Piles of leaves were lying around everywhere. We started kicking them like two morons on the streets.

I had so much fun. I took out my phone and I decided to take a selfie with Lucas amongst all the pretty shades of yellow, orange, and red fallen leaves.

"Our first picture." I smiled and hugged Lucas. I placed my head under his chin and he kissed the top of my head.

I finally let go of him. "Lucas oh my God, we made such a huge mess." Lucas raised an arm and he cast a spell to pile all the leaves to one huge pile. It was all tidy now. "All done." Lucas chuckled.

Lucas walked over to the maple tree and a small silver knife appeared on his hand. He carved a shape of a heart on the tree. He carved L + R inside the heart.

"You're so romantic!" I told him. He walked over to me and said, "Ruby, I want to take you out on a date. So... where do you want to go?" "Are you really letting me decide?" I asked. He replied, "I will take you anywhere you want to go, my fair lady." I blushed.

"Let's have dinner and head to the cinema." I suggested. Lucas agreed, "that sounds great!"

I called my mom to told her I'll be coming home late. And then we got in Lucas' car and drove to the busy streets of Brooklyn. "So where we going?" Lucas replied, "it's a surprise."

After the 30 minutes of driving, Lucas pulled over near a fancy looking restaurant. We got out of the car and I looked at the building. It was a steakhouse.

Lucas held my arm and we walked in the restaurant. I took off my coat and rubbed the white dress I was wearing. Thank God I was wearing the right thing on this fancy place. We sat down at a table and a waiter lit a candle and poured us some wine.

"Lucas, this is so fancy!" Lucas smirked. "You like it?" I nodded and smiled. "Thanks babe."

We ordered our meals and while we waited, we chatted for a bit.

"Hey Lucas, why does Dakota not go to high school with you?" Lucas explained eagerly, "he doesn't like being around many people. He used to have really close friend back in Ephiezora when he was a kid. Her name is Aurelia. He really liked her. Ever since he had to leave, he didn't want to see many people." "Aww poor guy."

After waiting for approximately half an hour, our main course arrived. A waiter brought two sirloin steaks and placed them on the table.

The steaks were big and juicy! The steak made me drool and I couldn't wait to eat it.

"Let the steak-eating commence!" I said.

Lucas and I started digging in to our steaks. The steak was a perfect level of medium-rare and it was divine. Lucas ate the steak like a kid who's been starving for days.

"Woah! Hold your horses cowboy." I teased Lucas. Lucas snapped, "Hey *nom*nom* Don't judge me! *nom* *nom* you know I love to eat *nom*nom* ugh, this is so good."

After I finished eating, I wiped my mouth with a napkin and sipped some wine.

"Do you want dessert?" Lucas asked me. "I'll pass." I replied. "Suit yourself. I think I'll pass too." Lucas added.

The waiter walked over to our table and brought the bill. Shit! I didn't bring enough money. The steak cost a lot!

Lucas read my mind and said, "don't worry Ruby, dinner's on me tonight." He payed the bill and left a 15% tip. "Come on, let's go to the cinema." I grabbed my coat and Lucas held my hand and we got in his car.

"Thanks so much for having dinner with me. But you didn't have to pay-" Lucas cut me off and said, "Ruby, it's fine. Remember I told you, I'd do anything for you. I wanted to do it."

"Thankyou, you're the best."

We arrived at the cinema. Lucas parked his car and we got out and walked to the cinema.

"So what do you want to watch?" Lucas asked. "I was thinking of watching a romance movie, because you're here with me." I replied. "Yes, that'll be romantic."

We bought two tickets from the ticket seller for a romance movie. We bought a large bucket of popcorn and went in the theatre.

We sat at the middle. There were a lot of couples other than us and Lucas elbowed me a bunch of times and I shut him up, "Sssh! The movie is about to start."

I ate some popcorn and watched the movie. I leaned my head on Lucas' shoulder on the romantic scenes, kissed him a few times, cried a bunch of times, and goofed around with Lucas on boring scenes. At the end, the boy had to die. I was crying my eyes out and I ran out of tissue. My nose was runny and I hugged Lucas but he didn't look like he was crying.

"Thanks for the wonderful date. It was really nice. But I wish the boy didn't die." I thanked Lucas. "I had a great time too. I can't wait to go out with you again, Ruby."

We walked over to Lucas' car and he drove me home.

It was 10 pm. I was asleep on the way home.

We finally arrived at my house. Lucas woke me up and we got out of the car. My dad was waiting for me at the front door watching us.

Lucas held both of my hands and said to me, "I will see you again very soon, my love." He leaned ovee and kissed me. And then he waved goodbye and drove home.

I walked to the front door of my house and my dad watched me and smiled, "was he your boyfriend?" I nodded. He chuckled, "good for you kiddo! Come on in honey."

Both of us got in the house and I decided to rest for the night.
