LUCAS' MEMORY Part 1

LUCAS POV (8 years old)

"Hey that's not fair, your toy is much bigger than mines!" Dakota complained. Me and Dakota were playing with our toys. It was Saturday so we did not have school.

I, Lucas Elliot Vrixon is the prince of Trixwerys. I live in the palace and my best friend Dakota is my father's closest friend's son. Dakota's father was a nobleman and they had a huge mansion near my palace that was nearly as large as the castle. Dakota and his parents were staying in the palace cause his father has got business with my father, the king.

We were sitting in my room clashing our toys together. I hit Dakota's toy and it fell off his hand. "HAHAHAH I still win. Come on, give me your candies." I commanded. Dakota groaned and took out a handful of candies from the pocket of his pants and gave them to me. "I'm gonna pick a bigger toy." Dakota picked up a much bigger toy and hit my toy off my hand. "Hey, that hurts!" I complained. He chuckled, "HAHAHA now give me back my candies." "Ugh fine!" I gave him back his candies and Dakota started dancing around the room.

As we continued playing with our toys, I heard a knock on the door.

"Prince Lucas, may I please come in?" It was one of my maid, Carrie. "okay!"

The door flunged opened and Carrie came in bringing in some news, "Good afternoon your highness, we've got a guest for Mr. Dakota." "Who is it?" Carrie answered, "It's Ms. Aurelia Clovelle. She's waiting at the palace garden, Sir Dakota." "Hey! Your girlfriend is here, Dakota! Hahah." I teased Dakota. He blushed, "she's not my girlfriend! We're just- friends." I rolled my eyes.

Aurelia is in our class at our school, Trixwerys Elementary School. Dakota have always had a crush on her since first grade. We are now students in 3rd grade.

"Come on, let's go see her." We got out of my room, walked through the long hallway, walked out a door and walked through another hallway. Yes, there are many hallways in a castle.

We walked down the grand staircase and went out the huge and tall doors that were followed by a red carpet.

The palace is a really wide place. It took us 5 minutes to walk to the garden. The garden is a really nice place, we've got thousands of different kinds of plants grown here. There is a greenhouse not far from the garden.

We spotted Aurelia sitting on the fountain at the center of the garden. She was looking into the water, playing with the turtles.

I greeted her, "Hey Aurelia!" "Hi Lucas, hi Dakota!" She replied. Dakota smiled and waved. "I can't believe I'm in the palace gardens! Thanks so much Lucas for letting me come here." She thanked me. "You're welcome Aurelia. Do you want a tour of the palace?" I asked. Her smile widened as she nodded jumping up and down. "Okay. Dakota, lead the way." Dakota jumped, "b-but yo-you're the one who lives here, you're supposed to do it!" I said, "oh come on. I want to see you do it." Aurelia turned to Dakota and smiled. "Fine. Come along Aurelia, we could um see the green house first."

They both walked awkwardly to the green house as I followed behind them laughing and chuckling.

We were touring the main hall when suddenly, one of the guard in the castle called out to me, "Prince Lucas! The King wants to talk to you. He's in his bedroom." "Oh okay." I turned to Dakota and Aurelia, "sorry guys, my dad needs to see me." Aurelia replied, "oh okay Lucas. See ya!"

I ran upstairs and head to the master bedroom. It was the King and Queen's room. I opened the door and got inside. My father was sitting on the sofa. He had dark curly brown hair and some dark brown stubble.

My dad said, "Lucas! I need to talk to you for a bit." I replied, "sure dad, what's up?" I sat on the sofa beside him. "Listen, I've been keeping a secret from you, Lucas. But I should tell you about it now." He said. I nodded. "I have a younger brother, Lucas. He's your uncle." He explained. I gasped, "how come you never told me Pa?" He answered, "it's because- I am not that close with him. I don't see him much and he doesn't live here Lucas. But later this evening, he'll be visiting and staying here for a few days. I want you to be nice and be in your best behaviour. But please, look out for him, Lucas. Your uncle could be a little...odd in times." I bowed down and said, "Yes, King Nicolai!" Dad laughed and hugged me, "that's my boy."

I walked out the room and met up with Dakota and Aurelia and played with them some more.

My father called my mom, my sister and me to the throne room. We wore our royal outfits. My parents sat on their thrones while my sister and I stood beside them.

We wore our crowns and chatted for a bit before my uncle came here. My sister Patricia and my mother were out today so I did not see them.

"Your sister and I were looking for new royal ball gowns for the ball next week, Lucas. You'll need a new suit too dear." Mom said. I shook my head, "I can just wear my old suit mom." Patricia snorted, "you look like an old man in those." My mom gave Patricia a sharp look and said, "remember your Princess behavior, Patricia!" I put my tongue out and she gave me a death glare. Patricia snapped, "hey Lucas! You should remember I can do sorcery. I could easily cut your tongue off and you still can't cause you're just a little boy!" "PATRICIA!" mom yelled at my sister. Patricia shrugged. Yes, I am still not able to do sorcery yet.

After we waited for ten minutes, the doors flunged open and a strange looking man walked in.

He wore a black hood and a black robe on. He looked really...creepy. He walked closer to us and bowed. He said to my father, "Hello dear brother, Nicolai. Or should I say, King Nicolai." My dad replied, "it's good to see you too, Lucius Drach." My father told me earlier that Lucius changed his surname into Drach on his own.

Lucius added, "it's been so long dear brother. And this must be your happy family. " He smiled as he turned to me and Patricia. "It's so good to finally see you guys! I am your uncle, alright?" Patricia nodded and I followed her.

Lucius turned back to my parents and said, "we shall all have a great time while I'm here, won't we?"
