I did not have school today. It was 7:30 am. I got out of bed, walked like a zombie to the bathroom because my eyes were still so sleepy, brushed my teeth and took a shower.

I walked back to my room half naked. When I spotted Lucas. Oh my God! I can't believe I forgotten he was here! He was still sleeping on the bed.

Thank God he's asleep. I approached my wardrobe slowly and took out my purple crop top and black shorts when all of a sudden...

"Ruby?" Lucas was staring at me. I was still half naked. His face turned red like a tomato and he hid his face under the blanket. I giggled and put on my clothes.

"All done, sweetie." I called out. Lucas' head popped out and he smiled. "I'm so sorry for what just happened." He apologized. "I don't mind. I wasn't fully naked and we're dating, everything's cool." I added. "Right." Lucas agreed.

I heard my dad calling my name from downstairs.

"Ruby, could you come here please?" He commanded me. "Coming dad!" I answered.

"Whoop! That's my cue. See ya!" Lucas ran out my window and flew away. It was like seeing Peter Pan flying out my window.

I went downstairs and found my dad. His brown hair was all messy. He probably just woke up.

"Ruby, you've got a call from your friend, Jackson." Dad told me. "Okay, I'll get it. Thanks dad."

I sprinted to the telephone and picked it up. "Jackson?"

Jackson answered, "Hi, Ruby. I tried calling your phone but you didn't answer-"

"Sorry Jackson, I was still asleep."

Jackson continued, "can I meet you somewhere today? I want to talk to you, about something."

I replied, "sure, I was thinking of going to Coney Island."

"Umm, yeah. That sounds good. Meet me there at 10." Jackson replied.

"Okay, see ya Jackson." I hung up the telephone.

I had some breakfast and watched tv for a bit.

I went upstairs and grabbed my bag and phone.

My mom dropped me off to Coney Island and I met up with Jackson on the entrance. I've always loved going to Coney Island ever since I was small with my family or with Jackson and Maddie.

"Hey Ruby, let's have some fun like old times shall we?" He asked. I smiled and we went through the entrance together.

We played with some of the rides. First we rode the roller coasters, then the other rides, and at the end, we ended up being on the ferris wheel.

We brought back some memories while we were there.

"Remember 2 years ago, when we were up on the ferris wheel, and Maddie dropped her popcorns to a guy underneath us?" Jackson asked. "I do! AHAHAHAH that was hilarious! And remember when you held another girl's hand by mistake cause you thought it was me?" I chuckled. Jackson laughed.

After the ferris wheel ride was over, we headed to the beach and walked around. It was 4 pm so it was still quite crowded.

We went to the less crowded part of the beach and sat down on the warm sand.

"Hey, Jackson? Can I ask you something?" I asked Jackson. He nodded. "Ever since I became friends with Lucas, you've been avoiding me a lot, you don't talk as much as you used to and you look at Lucas like you want to kill him. Why?"

Jackson sighed. He took of his glasses and stared into my eyes. He had pretty ocean blue eyes. "Ruby, there's something I've been meaning to tell you. I was too nervous to tell you this, but now I'm ready." He inhaled deeply. Closed his eyes for a second, and opened it again.

"Ruby, I- I'- I'm in-" there was a pause. "I'm in love with you Ruby."

I gasped. I was speechless. I couldn't believe it, he was like my brother.

"There, I said it Ruby. Okay? I loved you. Ever since I first set my eyes on you, but you didn't love me back. And now, you're dating that Lucas guy!" Jackson said with a bit of a high tone.

I looked away to the sparkling blue ocean. And then I turned back to Jackson. "Jackson, I'm sorry. I have to go." I stood up and walked away.

I heard Jackson calling my name. "Ruby, please. Wait!"

I ran as fast as I could and found a cab. I told the driver to drive me back home. I can't believe I actually left him there, alone. I felt so guilty.

When I got home, I ran upstairs and went to my room. I cried a bit and I turned on my phone to call Jackson.

He picked up. "Hello?"

"Jackson, hey. I'm so sorry about what happened. I didn't me-"

"No! It's fine Ruby. I get it. You don't love me back."

"I'm so sorry Jackson. But I don't love you that way. I'll always love you as a brother and friend. But not....that."

"It's okay. I understand."

"I love Lucas, Jackson. I'm sorry."

"It's okay, Ruby. You belong with Lucas."

"Thanks Jackson. I hope you shall find your love too." I hung up. I felt better now. But I never thought Jackson loved me like that.

------------------5 hours later---------------

It was 9.30 pm. I was sitting at the end of my bed reading Maddie's wattpad story when I heard knocks from my window.

It was Lucas. I opened my window and I let him in. "Hey Ruby." "Hey Lucas, what's up?" I asked him "I was wondering. Do you want to fly around New York City with me tonight?" He asked with a grin.

My eyes grew wide. "Are you serious?" He nodded. "Go get ready, use a jacket or something. It's windy."

I hurried to my wardrobe and wore my jacket and used my beanie.

I went outside my window along with Lucas. He held my hand. "You scared of heights?" He asked me. I shook my head.

He cast his flight spell and white small clouds circled around us and......

WOOSH!

We were up up and away in the nightsky. He gripped my right hand tightly and pulled me to him. I moved closer to his chest. This was like the scene in the movie when Superman and Lois Lane were flying across the city.

I could see the whole city from up here. We flew above the Central Park Zoo, the Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square, and the buildings and skyscrapers.

We did a loop and flew around circling the Tower of Liberty. I yelled at Lucas, "LUCAS, THIS IS AMAZING!"

Lucas grinned and we flew towards the Empire State building. He placed me at the top of the building and we sat there and watch the beautiful view and the bright lights of the city.

"Lucas, this is beautiful. Thanks so much for bringing me here." I thanked him. "I do this all the time." He said with a smirk. I hit him on his arm.

After about 15 minutes being on top of the empire state building, Lucas dropped me off to my bedroom.

"Thanks for the company, Ruby." He went straight out the window and went home.

I was still full of joy! The adreneline rush running through me! That was the greatest experience ever. It was 11.30 pm. We were flying for 2 hours!

I went straight to bed and dreamt of Lucas..
